NYC man charged with hate crime after decapitating Jesus statue

A NYC taxi driver was hit with a hate crime for allegedly vandalizing statues outside a Queens Catholic church, prosecutors said.

Jamshaid Choudhry, 44, of Hollis, was arrested Thursday night and charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime and other related crimes for allegedly decapitating a statue of a young Jesus outside of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Fresh Meadows on June 30.

But Abacus Data CEO David Coletto says that’s not actually a problem for Poilievre, and instead signals one for Trudeau, whose floundering fortunes are driving big questions about how or if he can hang on to power — and who might replace him if he goes.

Ottawa defends purchase of luxury condo for diplomats in New York

The Canadian government is defending its decision to spend a reported US$6.6-million on a luxury residence for its consul-general in New York, saying relocating to this condominium near Central Park will end up saving taxpayers money.

The New York Post reported that the three bedroom apartment, 11A at 111 W.57th Street in Manhattan, is located in an area referred to as Billionaires’ Row.

For a man giving away all his money, Bill Gates gets people angry. Some are angry for microchips-in-vaccines reasons. Some are angry for perhaps more reasonable reasons. They claim that he has too much power; that he has swapped a monopoly in computing for a monopoly in health; that he is, still, an unaccountable billionaire controlling lives.

Happily there is, he says, a cunning way of rectifying that. Gates sits, rocking slightly disconcertingly back and forth in his chair, in a side room at London’s Science Museum, and outlines his solution. To dilute his power, he explains, other people can just give away money too.

Official figures show that German police have launched a minimum of 360 separate investigations into the singing of a right-wing rendition of DJ Gigi D’Agostino’s “L’amour toujours”—or, with the new lyrics, “Ausländer Raus!” (Foreigners Out)—since last October. The figures do not include the states of Bavaria and Saxony.

The song first came to prominence when it was sung in a viral video by young German partygoers in May, resulting in participants being fired and facing up to five years in prison, courtesy of tough hate speech legislation.

We’ve just come across a document hosted by the Department of Homeland Security, posted March 2023 but written in 2007, that amounts to a full-blown corporatist imposition on the U.S., abolishing anything remotely resembling the Bill of Rights and Constitutional law. It is right there in plain sight for anyone curious enough to dig.

There is nothing in it that you haven’t already experienced with lockdowns. What makes it interesting is the participants in the forging of the plan, which is pretty much the whole of corporate America as it stood in 2007. It was a George W. Bush initiative. The conclusions are startling.

SANTA FE — The involuntary manslaughter case against “Rust” star Alec Baldwin was dismissed by a judge Friday after the actor’s defense attorneys raised new questions over how New Mexico law enforcement officers and prosecutors handled evidence.

The decision ends a nearly three-year-long ordeal for the “30 Rock” and “Hunt for Red October” star, which began in October 2021 when he accidentally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a prop revolver during a rehearsal for the low-budget western.

Letby case ‘has echoes’ of wrongly accused Canadian nurse, says expert

The Lucy Letby case bears striking similarities to a Canadian nurse wrongly accused of poisoning babies, an eminent neonatologist has said.

Dr Desmond Bohn, who spent 35 years as a paediatric intensive care specialist, was working at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto when nurse Susan Nelles was blamed for the deaths of four infants in her care.

Between June 1980 and March 1981, there was an alarming increase in cardiac deaths on two neonatal wards at the hospital.
