Canadians ambivalent about Israel on eve of the Jewish state’s 75th birthday celebration

Despite the strong relationship Canada maintains with Israel, Canadians have a mixed and uncertain opinion of the Jewish state, including on crucial, existential questions, a national opinion poll says.

… And while 36 per cent said the establishment of the State of Israel, which marks its 75th anniversary this month, was the right thing to do, 20 per cent said it wasn’t, but again, the largest response, at 44 per cent, was they didn’t know one way or another.

Those numbers suggest diversity is advancing …

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended his government’s move to spend as much as $13 billion into a new battery plant for auto giant Volkswagen and set the willingness to subsidize green manufacturing as a major difference between his party and the Conservatives.

You know in your heart this will be the Mother of all Boondoggles.

Cocaine-smuggling submarine reveals Europe’s drug crisis

I’m about to climb into the first “narco-sub” known to have brought cocaine from South America to Europe.

It’s 20 metres (65 ft) long, built out of fibreglass and – remarkably – homemade.

After clambering on top, I lift up the wonky manhole cover and descend into the hull where three men survived for 27 long days and nights, as they voyaged across the Atlantic Ocean just under the surface of the crashing waves.

It’s cramped, claustrophobic and incredibly primitive.

Meet the ‘elite’ couples breeding to save mankind

With global birth rates in free fall, Silicon Valley’s ‘pronatalists’ are aiming to halt the decline – by having as many babies as possible

At the beginning of March, Aria Babu quit her job at a think tank to dedicate herself to something most people have never heard of. Having worked in public policy for several years, the 26-year-old Londoner had come to an alarming realisation about the future of the UK, the world – and the human species.

‘It became clear to me that people wanted more children than they were having,’ Babu says. ‘Considering this is such a massive part of people’s lives, the fact that they were not able to fulfil this want was clearly indicative that something was wrong.’

Armageddon, is it really such a bad thing?

Brodie Fenlon: I run CBC News. Elon Musk’s Twitter changes had to be called out and you stupid peasants with your stupid stupid minds shouldn’t believe your own lying eyes!

But allowing a false impression of potential government involvement in our work to stand unchallenged is inconsistent with our commitment to accurate, fact-based journalism. It is disinformation. And it is why similar objections to Twitter’s media labels have been raised by international public media such as NPR, PBS, Britain’s BBC, Australia’s ABC and SBS, New Zealand’s RNZ and Spain’s RTVE, to name a few.

UN-Supported International Commission of Jurists Calls for Decriminalizing Sex With Minors

The globalists and liberal internationalists among us who frequently invoke the authority or consensus of the “international community” should read the United Nations–supported International Commission of Jurists’ (ICJ) March 2023 report on “Principles for a Human Rights-Based Approach to Criminal Law Proscribing Conduct Associated with Sex, Reproduction, Drug Use, HIV, Homelessness and Poverty.” Under the guise of seeking to remedy “hostility, exclusion, inequality, discrimination and marginalization of individuals and groups,” the report expressly calls for the decriminalization and normalization of sex between adults and “consenting” minors. The slippery slope of the sexual revolution has hit rock bottom. Woke ideology has not just defined deviancy down (in the memorable phrase of Daniel Patrick Moynihan), it seeks to eliminate deviancy from our lexicon.

Whitey on the moon?

Don’t know if we should be calling these woke folks, ‘astronauts’ or ‘cosmonauts’. But it was also expected that the people they picked for a hypothetical lunar mission would be leftists who hate America. Their experiments will likely consist of measuring equity on the moon and claiming that low-gravity environments have a disproportionate impact on people of color. And this garbage is starting early. Really early.

Another child shot after entering a neighbor’s yard (How much media attention will this get?)

By now you’ve certainly heard about the shooting of Ralph Yarl, a 16-year-old who went to pick up his younger brothers but mistakenly walked up to the wrong house. His brothers were on 115th Street and Yarl mistakenly went to 115th Terrace. When he rang the bell, 84-year-old homeowner Andrew Lester fired his gun through the door hitting Ralph twice including once in the head. He was hospitalized and, fortunately, survived the attack. His story immediately became national news. Ralph Yarl is black and Andrew Lester is white.
