US launches wave of air strikes on Yemen’s Houthis

The US has launched a “decisive and powerful” wave of air strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen, President Donald Trump has said, citing the armed group’s attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

“Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at US aircraft, and targeted our Troops and Allies,” Trump wrote on his Truth social platform, adding this had cost “billions of dollars” and put lives at risk.

Group Biden Removed from the Terror List Hopes That, Allah Willing, Its Missiles Will Soon Reach NY

The Houthis, the Iran-backed Shi’a jihad group in Yemen, recently held a student rally in the Yemeni city of Hajjah, but they weren’t exactly cheering on their favorite soccer team. The rally, which was televised on the Houthi network Al-Masirah TV, featured a student proclaiming, “Placing their trust in Allah, our missile forces are continuing to strike deep inside Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Allah willing, our UAVs will reach Tel Aviv and New York in the very near future.” A UAV is an unmanned aerial vehicle, that is, a drone. No one in New York needs to worry about Houthi drones anytime soon, but the statement in itself once again revealed that Biden’s handlers’ foreign policy is based on fantasy and wishful thinking, not any rational assessment of reality.

“It Is No Secret that the Current US Administration Is Encouraging the Houthis to Be More Aggressive”

Yesterday, January 30, 2022, the Iran-backed militia, the Houthis in Yemen, launched a missile at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for the third time in as many weeks.

Many Arabs say that they cannot understand why the Biden administration still has not re-designated the Houthis as a terrorist organization, especially in the wake of the recent missile and drone attacks on the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The Houthis Belong on the Terrorist List: The ‘Humanitarian Crisis’ Manipulation

The U.S. and the international community can no longer ignore or reward the malign behavior of Iran or the Houthis.

International pressure is growing to redesignate Yemen’s Houthi rebels as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), but pushback is emerging from humanitarian groups who fear it could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. The concerns of these groups are not unfounded, but failure to relist the Houthis will not address the underlying, root cause of the issue — Iran’s destabilizing effects on the Middle East executed in concert with its terrorist proxies, which include the Houthis.

The Houthis Must Be Relisted as a Terrorist Group

… The group, which, according to a Yemeni government intelligence report, “works closely” with Al Qaeda and ISIS, in addition, it seems, commits crimes against humanity. It has reportedly, since 2015, killed and injured more than 17,500 civilians — and it recruits, injures and kills children.

The Mystery Man of Sanaa

The news last week of the death in mysterious circumstances of the Iranian ambassador to Sanaa reminded me of a 19th century English limerick:

Who and where and when and what
Is the Akhund of Swat
Is he lean or is he fat
Is he cold or is he hot
The Akhund of Swat?

The Akhund of Swat was a cleric leading a tribal rebellion against the British Raj in the badlands of Pashstunistan. The questions posed in the limerick went unanswered as, one foggy day in the mountains, the Akhund disappeared. And since no one could claim to have actually seen the Akhund, an endless number of fables were woven around his name.

Iran-Backed Militia Recently Removed From Terror List By Biden Storms U.S. Embassy In Yemen, Takes Hostages

Weeks after taking office, the Biden administration removed the Houthi jihadi militia from the list of designated foreign terrorist groups, reversing a decision taken by former President Donald Trump. The move came as the Biden White House began appeasing the Iranian regime in efforts to restore the Obama-era nuclear deal.

Biden Rescinds Terrorist Designation For Iranian-Backed Yemeni Rebels. The Same Ones Who Just Stormed The U.S. Embassy, Kidnapped Locals

First, President Joe Biden’s administration abandoned America’s Afghan allies and even provided the Taliban “kill lists” containing the names and other information of people who had assisted the U.S. during our nation’s longest war.

Now, American allies in Yemen, where Biden’s former boss, President Barack Obama, launched a war six years ago, are being held captive as Iranian-backed militants stormed the American embassy looking for equipment and materials, the Washington Free Beacon reported on Thursday.

Iranian Regime, Houthis Celebrate Biden Administration’s Policy

The Biden Administration has completely reversed the former administration’s firm policy on the Houthis in the Yemeni civil war.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo designated Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, also known as Ansarallah, as a “foreign terrorist organization” in January 2021. The move was intended to hold the terror group accountable…

Attention President Biden: Yemen’s Houthi Rebels are Iranian-backed Terrorists

US President Joe Biden has good reason to regret his hasty decision to remove the terrorist designation applied to the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen after they responded to his act of benevolence by unleashing a fresh wave of attacks in the Middle East.

The Houthis and their Iranian backers are primarily responsible for starting Yemen’s long and bitter civil war after they overthrew the democratically-elected government of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in 2014.

Iran’s Role in Yemen: US, EU Go Wobbly

More evidence is emerging, including a recent report by the United Nations, showing that that the Iranian regime is delivering sophisticated weapons to the Houthi militia group in Yemen. The Houthi group was designated as a terrorist organization by the previous US administration.

Where are the European Union and the Biden administration on this issue? The Biden administration has suspended some of the terrorism sanctions that the previous administration imposed on the Houthis, and the Biden administration is reviewing the Houthis file to possibly remove it from the terrorist list. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that he has “deep concern about the designation” of the Houthis as a terrorist organization. The EU and Biden administration also appear to be busy charting ways to return to the nuclear deal — which Iran never signed and which enables Iran ultimately to possess nuclear weapons — and lift sanctions against the theocratic regime.
