Illegal crossings at US-Canada border drop — but enforcement shrinks: ‘Opportunity for terrorists’

Liberal Party Voters Every Last One.

US officials are pleading for help at the Canadian border, claiming the “most dangerous people are coming through” the largely unchecked crossing.

The number of illegal entries from the often-overlooked northern border have plummeted since President Trump’s election in November, but the gains have mostly stalled in recent months as Customs and Border Patrol has turned its full attention to Mexico.

“They had to shift manpower to the southwest border which opened up an even greater opportunity for terrorists to come through our northern border,” said Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), who co-chairs the Northern Border Security Caucus.

Liberal operatives planted ‘stop the steal’ buttons at conservative conference

Two Liberal Party staffers attended last week’s Canada Strong and Free Networking (CSFN) Conference where they planted buttons that used Trump-style language and highlighted division within the Conservative Party.

The conference, often referred to by its former name, the Manning Conference, is an opportunity for conservative-leaning Canadians to talk about policy proposals and network. It was held at the Westin Hotel in downtown Ottawa.

By refusing to see that ethnicity matters we fail Muslim rape gang victims again

Is it any wonder this went on so long?

First we were told there couldn’t be a national public inquiry into grooming gangs, because there were going to be at least five local ones. This week, considerable confusion emerged about whether there would even be any of those. Buried within a statement about tackling child sexual abuse and exploitation generally, Jess Phillips, the safeguarding minister, announced with smooth customer-service rhetoric that “following feedback from local authorities”, instead of local inquiries, there might be “more bespoke work”. She added that “a flexible approach” would be taken, potentially including “local victims’ panels or locally led audits of the handling of historical cases”. It sounded as if she were talking about a kitchen renovation, not a matter of burning public interest.

Howard Levitt: Why I would not hire Mark Carney

If Carney was a Canadian CEO, his best defence would be that his deceptions were discovered before he was elected

If you were on the recruitment committee selecting the chief executive of a major corporation and a candidate was presented who, you learned, had an explosive temper, had plagiarized portions of his doctoral thesis (a doctorate that was necessary for the balance of his career), misrepresented his objectives, had been ineffective in his previous jobs and spent the last several years attacking your major revenue stream, how long would this candidacy last?

NDP Faces Harassment Allegations and an Internal Collapse

A volunteer-based political organization is accusing the New Democratic Party (NDP) of coordinating a harassment campaign against them.

At the same time, a group of digital influencers previously working with the party have cut ties, citing mistreatment of fellow content creators and internal dysfunction. One NDP candidate described the party to The Rover as being in “absolute turmoil.”

Immigrant anti-Semites are hiding their extremism in plain sight

The US is now screening migrants’ social media activity. The policy is both effective and right

On April 9, the US Department of Homeland Security didn’t roll out a new border wall or beef up the fencing. It rolled out a policy update – small print with big teeth.

Effective immediately, people applying for permanent resident status and foreigners affiliated with educational institutions seeking a so-called immigration benefit request will be screened for their public online behaviour. And no, this isn’t about policing dinner table grumbles or passive-aggressive Facebook posts about airline food. This is about drawing a line between free speech and incitement. Between disagreement and digital warfare.

This sort of column is common in the UK press.

Why are our own media so cowardly? Is it silence by tax payer stipend?

Carney attacked for wanting ‘free ride,’ ‘hiding’ from public amid latest campaign break

Two federal party leaders took aim Saturday at Mark Carney, whom polls suggest is the front-runner in the April 28 election, for once again skipping the campaign trail.

Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet accused the Liberal leader of trying to capitalize on his early momentum by coasting through the opening three weeks of the campaign.

“I believe that Mr. Carney is trying to get a free ride,” he said at an announcement in Trois-Rivières, Que., alleging the Liberals are trying to “hide him as much as possible.”

UK takes control of British Steel under emergency powers to prevent China shutting plants down

The UK government is taking control of Chinese-owned British Steel after emergency legislation was rushed through Parliament in a single day.

Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds told MPs the government’s likely next step would be to nationalise the Scunthorpe plant, which employs 2,700 people.

But he said he was forced to seek emergency powers to prevent owners Jingye shutting down its two blast furnaces, which would have ended primary steel production in the UK.

Don’t do business with the Chicoms like Carney does.

English Heritage claims Easter is not originally Christian

English Heritage has claimed that Easter was not originally Christian.

The charity is accused of “whitewashing” the holiday by claiming its roots lie in a pagan festival celebrating the start of Spring.

A booklet about Easter’s origins given out at several of its historic sites says that the word comes from the name of the goddess Eostre while failing to mention Christianity at all.

GOLDSTEIN: Reckless Liberal spending compromised our ability to fight tariff war

Liberal government misspending has left us ill-equipped to fight a tariff war with the U.S. – and one of the only alternatives the government has will be to increase taxes to do so.

But don’t take my word for it.

Those warnings came from Chrystia Freeland when she was finance minister and from parliamentary budget officer Yves Giroux.

North Korea’s horrifying human experiments

‘It would be a total lie for me to say I feel sympathetic about the children dying such a painful death,’ says Kwon Hyuk, as he remembers his time running a concentration camp in North Korea.

‘Under the society and the regime I was in at the time, I only felt that they were the enemies. So I felt no sympathy or pity for them at all.’

As chief of management at Camp 22, buried in the remote mountains of North Hamgyong, it was once his job to watch the cruel experiments on political prisoners.
