Federal NDP doomed after abandoning traditional, big-tent labour roots

Don Davies, the Vancouver New Democrat MP who served as his party’s interim leader until the election of Avi Lewis last weekend, cautioned party members last December that if the NDP wanted to avoid another drubbing at the polls, it should focus on working people’s issues instead of becoming obsessed with identity politics.

The party didn’t listen.

They’re BIG Tent Woke Nazis.

The Truth About Israel’s ‘Death Penalty for Terrorists Bill’

In 2003, Limor Son Har-Melech was 7 months pregnant and driving home with her husband, Shalom, an ambulance driver, when Islamic terrorists attacked them. The car rolled over, killing her husband and injuring Limor. Seriously injured, the 24-year-old mother survived. So did her newborn daughter. Limor, still carrying the scars of the attack, married again, had children and decided to run for public office in Israel to protect others from what she had suffered.

Older Canadian women face tough choices about the life they can afford. That’s why Susan, 76, has lived in her car

Sometimes, living in a car is the only way a lady can survive.

At the age of 76, Susan Patricia Staples is a veteran of vehicle residency, as it is called, the act of sleeping in a car with no address except the next Walmart parking lot. She did it for nine impoverished months a few years ago, and if car life sounds like part of her past, it isn’t. Sleeping in her vehicle is the only way she can afford to leave her tiny apartment and visit friends in faraway locales, staying connected to the world.

Europe now treats Christian views as criminal

Europe now treats Christian views as criminal

In what has become known as the ‘Bible trial’, Christian politician Päivi Räsänen was criminally convicted last week of ‘hate speech’ in Finland’s Supreme Court. Her successful prosecution was based on a 21-year-old church pamphlet, which simply re-stated Christian sexual ethics. The verdict, the culmination of a seven-year witch hunt carried out by Finnish authorities, is perhaps the clearest illustration yet of Europe’s censorship crisis.

Conservative MPs bristle as Pierre Poilievre asks them to justify their roles

Conservative MPs bristle as Pierre Poilievre asks them to justify their roles

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is shuffling his deck, sending Elon Musk-style letters to his shadow ministers asking them to prove their worth.

Monday’s email was referred to by one Conservative as “DOGE-like” — a reference to Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency,” which sent emails to U.S. federal government workers last year demanding that they list their past week’s accomplishments or resign.

Bonus, Poilievre’s latest podcast appearance.

Scourge of the female Fagins

Scourge of the female Fagins

After furious M&S chief demands that Labour get to grips with Britain’s High St raiders, IAN GALLAGHER exposes the gangs cynically using little girls to fleece designer stores

The little girl was probably no more than seven but already canny enough to know the value of the pink Chanel handbag taking centre stage in a boutique in Surrey.

Security footage captures her eyeing the ‘pre-loved’ £6,000 bag like a coveted toy, then alerting a woman wearing a flowery headscarf who is feigning interest in dresses.

Neither can believe their luck. Unlike the other handbags, this bag is unencumbered by a security tag and cable.

Has Canada’s bilingualism gone too far?

Has Canada’s bilingualism gone too far?

Two young Canadian pilots were killed in a tragic accident on 22 March. What should have been an occasion for sober reflection, compassion and prayer, has regrettably turned into an undignified dispute about bilingualism.

Captain Antoine Forest, 30, and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther, 24, died when a fire engine crossed the runway in front of them as they landed at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The nose of the plane took the brunt of the impact and both pilots were killed. Grateful passengers credited the two young men with saving the lives of everyone else on board by doing their utmost to slow the plane down in the last instants before the collision. The occupants of the fire engine were injured but survived.

As Trump orders UFO data released, a question hangs: If aliens exist, what would they think of us?

As Trump orders UFO data released, a question hangs: If aliens exist, what would they think of us?

For generations, human beings have wondered: What would alien life from another planet be like? But we rarely ask the opposite: What would they think of us?

It’s a question that can produce some, well, uncomfortable answers if you happen to be an earthling.

Sound, Light & Frequency is a new UFO podcast with an interesting Hollywood backstory.

MORGAN: From Stalin’s breadlines to Toronto City Hall — the dangerous fantasy of government-run groceries

MORGAN: From Stalin’s breadlines to Toronto City Hall — the dangerous fantasy of government-run groceries

The food production and distribution system in the Western world is an incredible marvel. With modern advancements, food production has expanded beyond population growth and continues to do so. In 1950, farmers in North America averaged 40 bushels of corn per acre. Today, those same fields have yields surpassing 180 bushels per acre. Soybean, wheat, canola, and other staples have seen similar rises in yields. Meat and dairy production have also greatly increased.

The Most Telling Moment Of Poilievre’s Joe Rogan Interview

The Most Telling Moment Of Poilievre’s Joe Rogan Interview

On the surface, Pierre Poilievre’s recent appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast had more good than bad. The Conservative leader came across as likable, down-to-earth, and clear. He stressed the need to unleash Canada’s energy potential. He called for cutting regulations that have suppressed innovation. He pushed for lower government spending. These are all sound ideas and Canada would surely benefit from them.

The Iran Operation

The Iran Operation

So this is purest speculation on my part. But watching the incredibly complex multi-domain rescue mission this weekend, it suddenly struck me that new, powerful AI might be behind this. Moving all these units into so many places at once, making sure that they have communications organized, fuel, ammunition, food, the right troops with the right transports, and so on is enormously complex. It normally requires the work of hundreds of staffers to do this sort of thing, and that takes time. But it happened awfully fast, and nearly flawlessly.

Inside the battle over Barry Sherman’s billions. Why a court may soon open the books on the murdered tycoon’s family legacy

A dispute has broken out over who should manage $2 billion of assets left behind by murdered business tycoon Barry Sherman.

On one side is his son Jonathon and his nominee on the board of the Sherman family trust, Toronto lawyer Michael Woollcombe.

On the other is Jonathon’s sister Alexandra, along with her former husband, and a money manager Barry trusted for years to handle the fortune he built up as founder of generic drug giant Apotex.
