Stephen Moore: The malignant narcissism of Justin Trudeau

Last week, Canadian House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota invited a 98-year-old man named Yaroslav Hunka to attend a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Rota called Hunka a “Canadian hero,” and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cheered for Hunka alongside lawmakers. But Hunka, it turned out, had served in a Nazi unit during the Second World War, sparking outrage.

In response, Rota took “full responsibility,” apologized and then resigned on Tuesday. Trudeau called it “deeply embarrassing.” Trudeau then warned against “Russian propaganda and Russian disinformation.”

Paris has become the city of love, rats and bugs

There are said to be six million rats in Paris. I met one last week when I was retrieving some winter clothes from a bag in my cellar. Neither of us was particularly keen to make the other’s acquaintance.

Such a brief encounter may not please the Socialist mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. In the summer her office announced the establishment of a committee to study how the city’s three million human inhabitants can learn to ‘cohabit’ with their furry neighbours.

Welcome to the Democrats’ Nightmare: RFK Jr. Goes Third Party?

If reports are accurate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., promising a major announcement in Philadelphia on October 9, will declare himself an independent and pursue a third-party run for the presidency. If he does, it will be the Democrats’ worst nightmare. It makes possible — not a guarantee, but very possible — a Donald Trump presidential win in November 2024.

But Johnny Can’t Spell G-A-Y

With large majorities of their students incompetent in English and math, Los Angeles schools are ramping up efforts—for more gay pride and gender indoctrination.

It has been almost 90 days since Gay Pride month. According to the Los Angeles Unified School District, that is too long a hiatus from the imperative of immersing young children in the arcana of gay and trans identity. So throughout the week of October 9, many elementary school classrooms in Los Angeles will celebrate “National Coming Out Day,” which falls on October 11.

FTX A Nerd’s Wet Dream

Gossip that top executives at bankrupt crypto giant FTX were enmeshed in a sex-fueled “polycule” is exaggerated at best, according to a former employee — who claims they instead spent their free time on nerdy pursuits like board games, hackathons and role-playing sessions.

Rumors of a polyamorous clique of crypto nerds at FTX have run rampant since last fall – particularly focused on Sam Bankman-Fried, the 31-year-old kingpin whose epic fraud trial is slated to begin Monday in Manhattan federal court; and his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison, the 28-year-old former boss of FTX’s hedge fund Alameda Research who is expected to testify against him.

GOLDSTEIN: Carbon taxes are money for nothing – here’s why

As Canada’s Parliamentary Budget Officer has reported, average Canadian households are already paying hundreds of dollars more in carbon taxes every year than they receive in rebates.

Yves Giroux says those costs – the result of the negative impact of carbon pricing on the economy – will rise every year as the carbon tax increases from $65 per tonne of greenhouse gas emissions this year to $170 per tonne in 2030.

Why CSIS officials secretly met Nijjar a day before his killing – Canadian intelligence agency responds

In light of the recent killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the already strained diplomatic relations between India and Canada – two countries historically connected through trade and culture – have deteriorated further. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week accused Indian government agents of a role in Nijjar’s murder, a charge New Delhi categorically denied.

Terming Trudeau’s allegations “absurd and politically motivated”, India suspended a Canadian diplomat in a tit-for-tat action and suspended visa services for Canadian citizens. The Indian government also asked Trudeau to provide evidence to back his claim but received none, so far.

Criminal-Friendly Seattle Is So Bad This Guy’s Shocked When a Judge Won’t Let Him Go

Seattle’s so woke that the criminals think they run the justice system now, and we can prove it.

There was a delicious bit of schadenfreude in court on Thursday listening to an accused bad guy ask plaintively of a judge (paraphrasing here) “Wait, why can’t I get the easy-on-criminals treatment that every other bad guy has gotten?”

Feds must release ‘secret’ record on Nazis in Canada: ‘We cannot move forward’

The apology by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a tribute by Parliament to a man who had fought in a Nazi unit is an important healing step — but more needs to be done, Jewish groups say. Namely, declassifying more of the “secret” information contained in the Deschenes Report.

These reports were completed after the Second World War and contain information on Nazis who came to Canada after the conflict ended. However, the names are all redacted, as is any information on how those individuals were allowed to come.

Navy personnel told to introduce themselves with pronouns in trans guidance

Royal Navy personnel are being told to introduce themselves with their pronouns before meetings in official guidance seen by The Telegraph.

A guide on trans and non-binary awareness tells staff: “Introducing yourself with your pronouns at the start of meetings and interactions is a good way to be inclusive.”

The guidance, available on the Royal Navy intranet, says: “Some people do not associate with gender binary and may use different pronouns like they/them or neo-pronouns like ze/hir/hirs. You should use the pronoun that a person shares with you.”
