Canadian naval officer relieved of her duties after allegations of inappropriate conduct on NATO mission

A Canadian naval officer has been relieved of her duties aboard a coastal defence vessel deployed on a NATO operation in Europe over allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct.

The Department of National Defence says Vice-Admiral Bob Auchterlonie, the commander of Canadian Joint Operations Command, relieved the executive officer of HMCS Kingston of her role “as a result of an alleged incident of inappropriate conduct of a sexualized nature” during a port visit in Lisbon, Portugal.

Trudeau vows to punish ‘bloodthirsty regime’ in Iran amid Mahsa Amini death

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau vowed to further punish Iran’s “bloodthirsty regime” on Tuesday, one day after Ottawa imposed sanctions over the death of Mahsa Amini.

Trudeau told reporters in Nova Scotia that Ottawa would hold Iran to account, not only for Amini’s death, which has sparked global outcry, but for the families of victims on flight PS752 that was shot down in January 2020.

Will that be before or after he clears this with Sacha?

Jeffrey Sachs: The rest of the world thinks USA probably blew up the pipelines

We recently looked at all of the finger-pointing going on over the mysterious “leaks” that shut down the Nord Stream pipelines under the Baltic Sea. Most western leaders continue to suggest that Russia did it, though none are offering any hard evidence to support that claim. But economist Jeffrey Sachs, the Bloomberg TV host and director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University isn’t jumping on that bandwagon. Yesterday he told another host on the same network that most of the world believes that the pipelines were blown up in some sort of covert operation between the United States and Poland. The reason most Americans aren’t aware of this, at least according to Sachs, is that the possibility is almost never mentioned on American news networks.

A Deep State that attempted to bring down a sitting president with the Russia Collusion hoax is every bit dangerous enough to have sabotaged the pipelines.

Canadians ‘Dissatisfied’ With Feds’ Treatment of Freedom Convoy: Internal Federal Poll

The end is nigh.

Many Canadians say they are unhappy with the police response to the Freedom Convoy in February, according to an internal survey conducted for the federal government. Even those who opposed the protest said the freezing of bank accounts would never have been necessary if “more had been done” to engage with protestors.

“Participants were generally dissatisfied with the response of the Government of Canada,” said a Privy Council Office report, titled “Continuous Qualitative Data Collection Of Canadians’ Views.”

Rex Murphy: The Liberals are so far out of touch it probably can’t be measured

Canadians need the Trudeau government to deal with the realities of skyrocketing fuel, food and mortgage costs

The greatest and most characteristic failure of the Trudeau administration has been its war against the oil and gas industry. It was so-early signalled. There is, for example, this brilliant pat-on-his-own-back — a yoga twist Mr. Justin has perfectly mastered — from nine years ago: “I am pleased to announce that we will keep our commitment to implement a moratorium on crude oil tanker shipping on British Columbia’s north coast.”

Elon Musk proposes to buy Twitter at original $44B price to avoid trial: sources

Elon Musk has proposed going through with his original deal to buy Twitter for a whopping $44 billion — a bid to avoid a court trial over the hotly contested agreement slated for later this month, sources told The Post.

The billionaire Tesla CEO is in talks for a settlement to acquire the social network for $54.20 per share — the same price he agreed to in April before saying in July he was pulling out of the deal, according to sources close to the talks.

CBC is the major threat that other Canadian media outlets don’t want to talk about

Is now a good time to talk about one of the most destructive forces in the Canadian media? I’m not talking Google or Facebook – though they are challenges to be dealt with – I’m talking about the predatory state-owned operation known as CBC.

On Monday, we were all witness to the bizarre spectacle of one of the owners of the Toronto Star taking the other to court over the direction of the company. One wants cuts to the Star newsroom, one does not.

I am not hopeful that Poilievre will deal with the CBC as promised despite the fact that citizens have long tuned out this rogue public broadcaster kept afloat with their extorted tax dollars.

And what is Stockwell Day on about?  Is he suggesting Poilievre is already morphing into CPC Institution Man?

Stockwell Day says he’s worried about how Poilievre will treat socially conservative Leslyn Lewis

Alleged Waukesha parade killer Darrel Brooks disrupts 1st day of trial with bizarre antics

The man accused of fatally mowing down six parade-goers during the Waukesha Christmas parade in Wisconsin last year was tossed from court multiple times for a series of strange outbursts on Monday.

Darrel Brooks, 40, disrupted proceedings ahead of jury selection, forcing the judge to take numerous breaks and to eventually instruct him to participate from another room.

Brooks, who is representing himself, bizarrely interrupted Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow, arguing he did not recognize her as a judge or the state of Wisconsin.

Global should know better – Garbage In Garbage Out

This: ‘A narrative that already exists’: How Toronto police prepared to publish data confirming systemic racism

The problem is the “data” did not confirm anything beyond the fact that it was skewed by design in order to push the preferred race-baiting narrative as Lorrie Goldstein so ably pointed out.

GOLDSTEIN: Here’s why we no longer talk honestly about police race-based data

… But what the report excludes are the crime rates in the various communities with which the police interact.

Logically that’s part of the equation because if they are higher in some communities than others, that will impact the frequency and type of their interactions with police.

However, it has been illegal for police forces in Ontario to gather or reveal this data for decades.

GOLDSTEIN: Policing report exposes flawed logic of race-crime statistics

… In other words, while Blacks were disproportionately charged by police compared to whites (15,122 per 100,000 compared to 3,853 per 100,000), whites were disproportionately charged by police compared to visible minority groups other than Blacks (3,853 per 100,000 compared to 2,116 per 100,000).

The problem with this logic is that it infers that for the police to prove they aren’t  racist, they must demonstrate the percentage of people they arrest and charge in every racial group reflects their percentage of the population.

Trudeau government out of touch on dealing with Iran

Never a pair of giant flying scissors around when you need one.

… But it also showed something else — how out of touch the Trudeau government has managed to get on the issue of how to deal with Tehran, at political risk to itself.

It was notable in Richmond Hill that the new Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre, managed to make sure he was front and centre before the assembled thousands, denouncing both the Iranian regime and the government’s failure to put sanctions on Tehran’s notorious Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Justin’s handlers know that support for Iran’s regime is strong among the Shia Muslim community in Canada and particularly within the GTA, a key piece of the LPC’s strength.

Estimates are up to one quarter of Canada’s Muslims are Shia.

Justin will not be allowed to alienate a significant vote bloc.

Ontario gas prices set to see historic single-day jump

Gas prices in Ontario are expected to jump by 10 cents later this week, a single-day jump that one industry analyst says has only happened a few times this decade.

According to industry analyst Dan McTeague, prices at the pump will increase as of midnight on Wednesday.

“You don’t see that very often,” McTeague told CTV News Toronto Monday night. “Normally you see 10 to 15 cents a litre over a two-day period but never in one big fell swoop.”

Zelenskyy, Musk in Twitter showdown over Ukraine ‘peace’ plan

A poll by the outspoken billionaire Elon Musk asking Twitter users to weigh in on a plan to end the Ukraine war has sparked a flurry of criticism, including from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The controversial “peace” proposal put forward by the entrepreneur behind Tesla Inc and SpaceX included United Nations-supervised elections in the four Ukrainian regions recently annexed by Russia, and recognising Crimea as Russian territory.
