Peter Thiel: wokeness is like Wahhabism

The billionaire warned that California is starting to seem like Saudi Arabia

The third annual National Conservatism conference kicked off Sunday in Miami, Florida, bringing together a who’s who of figures associated with the so-called “New Right.” Topics of discussion included how to combat the rise of China, how to fight back against gender ideology, and, courtesy of the Heritage Foundation’s David Azerrad, how to resist the “blackpill” of living in a country in which “the elite is corrupt and so are the people”.

U.N. Demands European Nations Reject Fossil Fuels over Energy Crisis

Russia has reduced supplies of gas to Europe since its invasion of Ukraine, sending fuel prices soaring, while supply chain issues post the coronavirus pandemic have also hit deliveries.

Despite those travails, “There is no room for backtracking in the face of the ongoing climate crisis,” deputy U.N. rights chief Nada Al Nashif told the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Is the ‘Great Reset’ Kaput?

Writing in The Epoch Times, CEO of GnS Economics Tuomas Malinen forecasts the imminent collapse of the European economy. Focusing on the ill-advised sanctions against Russia in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine and the shutting down of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, he reports that “[m]any households and corporations are seeing their energy prices multiply by 10, or more, across the continent.” In the face of a massive spike in energy prices, skyrocketing inflation, the raising of interest rates, the crushing effect on asset markets and the European banking sector, and the explosion of a full-blown debt crisis, Malinen predicts the unraveling of the Eurozone and the possible collapse of the global financial system. The ripple effect would be unstoppable.

‘Canadians are hurting’: Poilievre says he’ll fight for the working class in first caucus speech

In his first speech to caucus since winning the party’s top job, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said Monday his focus at the helm will be on holding the government to account for its perceived failings on the economy and inflation.

Poilievre — who spoke for roughly 10 minutes, sometimes to thunderous applause from the assembled MPs and senators — said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the governing Liberals are out of touch with the struggles of working people.

He said that, as the son of a single mother and the adoptive son of two school teachers, he comes from “humble origins” and can sympathize with the plight of Canadians struggling to get by.

How Amsterdam ceased to be gay heaven

The city is becoming Islamicized and gay people are paying the price

Last month, in preparation for an article about the growing gay backlash against trans ideology, I spoke with Bev Jackson, the co-founder of LGB Alliance, a gay and lesbian activist group that opposes the hijacking of the gay rights movement by transfolk. Bev told me about her background — fifty years in British gay activism, a resident of Amsterdam for four decades — and asked me about mine.

Blackie Trudeau criticizes ‘buzzwords, dogwhistles’ as Poilievre crowned Tory leader

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized politicians using “buzzwords, dogwhistles and careless attacks” on Monday, just days after Pierre Poilievre was named the new leader of the Conservative Party.

Speaking from the Liberal caucus retreat, Trudeau congratulated Poilievre on his leadership victory — but couched his well-wishes in warnings about the kind of leadership he said Canada needs.

National Security Threat: China’s Eyes in America

Chinese intelligence gathering in the US takes many forms and has different purposes. Most Americans are familiar with some of their means and tactics, but not with how widespread and persistent they are.

Americans may know about the malware contained in that infernal TikTok app that their children use. They may know the Chinese military’s cyber-intelligence service was likely behind many of the largest hacks of Americans’ personal data that have ever occurred. They may know from the news how US defense and intelligence policy have sanctioned Chinese telecom giant Huawei, and counseled America’s allies to reject Chinese-architected implementations of 5G networking, due to evidence that China has planted backdoors in commercial networking equipment designed to allow the Communist regime in Beijing to conduct surveillance and cyber-espionage anywhere in the world.

Do they know it extends to consumer-level drones?

Active shooter … Toronto police officer killed in daylight Mississauga shooting: sources

Update: He is in custody.

One person has been fatally shot in the Region of Peel and another taken to a trauma centre, police say.

Multiple sources told Global News the victim of the fatal shooting in Mississauga is a Toronto police officer.

In a tweet, Peel Regional Police said they responded to an incident in the Argentia Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard area at around 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

The shooter is a dark skinned white male evidently. (Screenshot as I am certain the original will be deleted)

Update: He changed complexion no doubt owing to the internalization of society’s systemic racism.
