How To Steal From Progressives – Lawsuit alleges that top BLM leader siphoned $10 million from racial justice charity

… Bowers and his group denied all claims of financial misconduct and chastised those suing him for “falling victim to the carceral logic and social violence that fuels the legal system” in taking legal action against him.

“They would rather take the same steps of our white oppressors and utilize the criminal legal system which is propped up by white supremacy (the same system they say they want to dismantle) to solve movement disputes,” the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation’s board of directors said in a joint statement.

Festival of Brexit is a £120m Woke flop

It was meant to be a patriotic celebration of what Britain could look like after leaving the EU.

But despite being supported with £120 million in public funds, the so-called Festival of Brexit has fallen woefully short of hitting a target to attract 66 million visitors. Only 238,000 people have turned up so far.

The figures emerged yesterday as the event’s organisers were accused of using it to push “woke” causes, such as gender fluidity and “how imperialism shaped the British garden”.

Denouncing The Diagolonoids

A Canadian right-wing nut is peddling a satirical meme about a diagonally-shaped North American superstate. Needless to say, much of the country’s intellectual class is terrified.

Last month, Pierre Poilievre, the populist front-runner in the race to become leader of Canada’s federal Conservative party, was photographed shaking hands with Jeremy MacKenzie, a former soldier facing weapons and harassment charges. MacKenzie is an odd duck who combines a penchant for extremist right-wing rhetoric with a predilection for ironic Internet memes. But almost no one in Canada knew his name until that now infamous handshake. As for Poilievre, he says he didn’t recognize MacKenzie, or form any particular memory of having met him—a claim that even progressive journalists have admitted is entirely credible.

Kanye: ‘What The F*** Is Kwanzaa And Who Made That Bulls*** Up?’

On Wednesday, rap icon Kanye West, who confused many of his followers when he acted in a friendly manner toward former President Trump, issued a tweet (later deleted) in which he questioned the validity of the holiday Kwanzaa.

Kwanzaa was created by black activist Maulana Karenga in 1966; in 1971 he was convicted of felonious assault and false imprisonment. He currently serves as chairman of the Africana Studies Department at California State University, Long Beach. The Kwanzaa festival is observed starting the day after Christmas for 7 days, and involves celebrating seven Swahili values; a candle is lit each day on a candleholder.

Justin Trudeau is losing support. Attacking Pierre Poilievre won’t fix it

MONTREAL—The prime minister’s negatives are on the rise. A clear majority of Canadians feel the country is headed in the wrong direction. Is the deck stacked against Justin Trudeau in his upcoming match against a new Conservative leader?

It may depend on whether the Liberals focus on what they can fix to the exclusion of what they cannot.

At the top of the latter list is the prime minister’s own brand.

Sabrina Maddeaux: Poilievre’s tax plan will help the low-income workers Trudeau let down

Tax code matters are one of the more convoluted and least enthralling aspects of governance. Many politicians either generally avoid the topic or simplify it to the extreme: you either cut taxes or raise them.

Whether leaders assume a lack of interest on voters’ behalf, think they’re too dumb to grasp the details, or are in fact too dense to do so themselves, the effect is the same. Canadians miss out on lively debate and fresh ideas about a topic that greatly impacts their –– and the country’s –– economic health.

Terror suspects like Shamima Begum will be treated like VICTIMS if they exploit modern slavery laws, watchdog warns amid claims Met Police covered for ‘Canadian spy’ who smuggled ISIS bride into Syria

Terror suspects like Shamima Begum could be treated like victims if they exploit modern slavery laws, the terrorism watchdog warned last night.

Explosive claims in a new book that the so-called Jihadi Bride was smuggled into Syria by a spy working for Canada – before Justin Trudeau’s nation then conspired with the UK to cover up its role – emerged this week.

It sparked calls for an inquiry into claims the Met and the government knew the alleged people smuggler was responsible for helping Begum and her two fellow schoolgirls join ISIS while also working as a double agent.

The coming confrontation over government intervention in the media

Summer is nearly at an end. Parliament is about to resume. The Conservatives are about to elect a new leader. And our politics are about to enter a period of sharper definition, with clearer differences between the two main parties. Nowhere is this more true, seemingly, than over the issue of government involvement in the media: broadcast, print and internet-based.

‘I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country’: Now senile Biden walks BACK his attacks on MAGA Republicans

President Joe Biden walked back his attacks on Donald Trump’s MAGA supporters, saying on Friday he doesn’t consider ‘any Trump supporter a threat to the country.’

‘I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country,’ the president said at the White House.

It was a contrast to his remarks on Thursday night when, in a primetime address on the threat to democracy, he said Trump and his supporters were a threat to the republic.

Marouf’s hate is acceptable hate and you’re kidding yourself if you believe there aren’t more just like him sucking on the public teat.

‘It’s Not Scary To Die For The Motherland’: As War On Ukraine Rages, Russian Children Targeted For ‘Patriotic’ Education

“One doesn’t become a patriot by just proclaiming slogans,” runs the text of an upcoming mandatory lesson for upper-level children in Russian schools. “Genuinely patriotic people are prepared to defend their motherland with a weapon in their hands.”

“Patriotic education” has been a catchphrase in President Vladimir Putin’s Russia since at least 2005. But now, with Moscow’s unprovoked war against Ukraine grinding on and Russia caught up in a tense standoff with the West, the country is redoubling its emphasis on “patriotism” in the schools. With the new school year that opened on September 1, the Education Ministry is launching mandatory weekly lessons first thing every Monday with the title Important Conversations.
