Zelensky: Threat from ‘Putin the Nazi’ outweighs pain of rising energy bills

The Ukrainian leader praises Boris Johnson, criticises Macron and Scholz and says western cost of living fears are ‘incomparable’ with the threat from Russia

Volodymyr Zelensky refuses to talk about Boris Johnson in the past tense.

Breaking into a broad grin as he recounts one of the last conversations he had with the British prime minister during his third and final visit to Kyiv last month, the Ukrainian president says: “He is an energetic person. I told him, ‘You can’t disappear’, and he said, ‘I will not’.”

A deep bond has been forged between Zelensky and Johnson, who allies claim has not ruled out a return to No 10 after he leaves this week.

Rex Murphy: The Liberals and an incomparable travesty of hate

The Laith Marouf scandal, for that is emphatically what it is, of a fully public (it was all on Twitter, some on tape and film) antisemite receiving more than half a million taxpayers’ dollars from the government of Canada, caught even the laziest eye. I have observed it was a singular instance of “paying” the fox to raid the chicken house.

World Economic Forum official tells Canadians not to believe their Lyin Eyes

World Economic Forum official says Canada has bigger issues to discuss than conspiracy theories

A senior official with the World Economic Forum says Canada should be talking about more important things than conspiracy theories targeting his organization.

Adrian Monck, managing director of the WEF, also argues that politicians espousing those theories should ask themselves whether they’re spreading disinformation coming from bad actors.

“Canada should be talking about a lot of things right now. It shouldn’t really be talking about the World Economic Forum based here in Geneva,” Monck told CBC Radio’s The House in an interview airing Saturday. “You know, there are bigger issues, really, for it to be thinking about.”

The Rings of Power just might turn Tolkien in his grave

The new Amazon Prime series is an exercise in artistic necrophilia

By now, you’ve probably heard about Amazon’s new mega-series, aka “Jeff Bezos’s answer to Game of Thrones.” There is probably no property more beloved in fantasy circles than JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, superbly filmed by Peter Jackson at the beginning of the millennium. But Hollywood — and its latest cousin, streaming television — finds itself unable to let go where there is the prospect of a hit. So first we had the endlessly protracted and deeply boring Hobbit series, and now we have Amazon’s new venture into Tolkien’s universe, the grandiosely titled Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The week the world woke up at last to Meghan the martyr

Last week, I wrote that I felt increasingly sorry for Harry and his walk-on role in his wife’s never-ending psychodrama. I switched off my computer thinking: enough about the Sussexes!

Yet Meghan’s 6,400-word interview with New York fashion website The Cut this week means I have no choice but to revisit the subject — and Meghan’s strange relationship with the truth.

The Queen famously said ‘recollections may vary’ when it came to Megs’s extraordinary charges of cruelty and racism against the Royal Family. Yet it’s the recollections of those outside the royal fold that are now calling the Duchess to account.

The Biden Administration’s Nuclear Deal Is the Biggest Gift to the World’s ‘Top State Sponsor of Terrorism’

The Biden administration’s new nuclear deal with the ruling clerics will lift economic sanctions against the Iranian regime the moment the deal enters into effect.

At that moment, the Iranian regime will receive approximately $90 billion. The Biden administration will also instantly be lifting sanctions on the Iranian regime’s energy sector, which will also significantly boost the regime’s oil and gas revenues.

Fury after fire brigades spend £17,000 of taxpayers’ money on decorating engines in LGBT rainbow colours

Fire brigades have been told to ‘fight fires not culture wars’ after it was revealed they spent over £17,000 painting fire engines in rainbow colours.

The colourful paint jobs were approved by several fire and rescue service chiefs across England since 2017 in inclusivity and recruitment drives.

The rainbow flag has been used a symbol of LGBT pride since the late 1970s.

I wouldn’t pull over if I saw that thing coming. I don’t care if they’re late to the pride parade.

Rob Schneider: Western Civilization Is Under Attack’

Saturday Night Live is now a de facto arm of the Democratic Party.

The same isn’t true for those who graduate from the venerable sketch series. SNL alums are increasingly embracing the Right.

Victoria Jackson did just that a while ago, as did “Weekend Update” standout Dennis Miller. Jon Lovitz needed to run his own business to realize the Right might be friendlier to his entrepreneurial dreams.

Red flag laws get little use as shootings, gun deaths soar

Chicago is one of the nation’s gun violence hotspots and a seemingly ideal place to employ Illinois’ “red flag” law that allows police to step in and take firearms away from people who threaten to kill. But amid more than 8,500 shootings resulting in 1,800 deaths since 2020, the law was used there just four times.

It’s a pattern that’s played out in New Mexico, with nearly 600 gun homicides during that period and a mere eight uses of its red flag law. And in Massachusetts, with nearly 300 shooting homicides and just 12 uses of its law.

Memphis jogger abducted on street, bundled into SUV is billionaire heiress

The Tennessee teacher who had been kidnapped while jogging early Friday morning is actually the heiress to a billion-dollar company.

Eliza Fletcher, 34, is the granddaughter to hardware magnate Joseph “Joe” Orgill III, whose wholesale family business, Orgill Inc., is described as “the world’s largest independent hardlines distributor with annual sales of $3 billion,” according to the company’s website. Fletcher’s family is now offering a $50,000 cash prize for information that leads to her rescue, according to the Daily Mail.

“We look forward to Eliza’s safe return and hope that this award will help police capture those who committed this crime,” Fletcher’s family said in a statement.

My bet: Hubby did it.

Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot call signs to be approved by board hand picked by inclusivity expert Laith Marouf

OTTAWA – A police investigation into comments made at a social gathering of fighter pilots in June has cast a spotlight on a well-known but little-understood military tradition that some worry is another example of entrenched cultural problems in Canada’s Armed Forces: the assignment of call signs.

Earlier this week, Royal Canadian Air Force commander Lt.-Gen. Eric Kenny announced that he was delaying a ceremony to install a new commander at one of Canada’s two fighter-jet bases, 3 Wing in Bagotville, Que.

Kenny attributed the decision to an ongoing military police investigation into statements made during what he described as a “call sign review board” held on June 22 at Canada’s other CF-18 base, 4 Wing in Cold Lake, Alta.

Guardian Triggered by ‘My Son Hunter‘: ‘Stop Trying to Make Hunter Biden Conspiracy Theories Happen‘

Britain’s left-wing The Guardian has attacked the upcoming movie My Son Hunter in a column claiming the movie is trying to elevate the Hunter Biden laptop scandal beyond a fringe conspiracy theory. But the article ignores the fact that the laptop and its contents have been authenticated as real by multiple mainstream news outlets, including the New York Times and CNN.
