No Whites Allowed: Pfizer Fellowship Flagrantly Violates the Law, Lawyers Say

The pharmaceutical giant Pfizer offers a prestigious fellowship that bars whites and Asians from applying. Trumpeted on the company’s website as a “Bold Move” to “create a workplace for all,” civil rights lawyers are characterizing it in a different way: as a blatant violation of the law.

“This Pfizer program is so flagrantly illegal I seriously wonder how it passed internal review by its general counsel,” said Adam Mortara, one of the country’s top civil rights attorneys.

After Deadly Fires and Disastrous Floods, Vancouver Moves to Sue Big Oil

LYTTON, British Columbia — Nothing has been rebuilt since flames devoured the tiny village of Lytton last year, turning it into a national symbol of climate change. It was in Lytton, about 90 miles northeast of Vancouver, that temperatures set a national record of 49.6 degrees Celsius — 121.3 Fahrenheit in Canada! — before the deadly fire erupted.

Blue fencing on either side of Main Street blocks off access to the ruins of the village. Charred trees, flattened roofs, collapsed walls and piles of debris stretch over the full length of the village center, the silence broken only by helicopters dumping water to try to extinguish more recent fires in the nearby mountains.

Continental Breakfast (Understudy Edition)

Joan Collins makes an Omelette* (with a surprisingly accommodating and apologetic Gordon Ramsay).

Backstory: In 1998 a publicity-shy Gordon Ramsay dramatically kicked restaurant critic A. A. Gill out of one of his restaurants. Ms Collins was A. A.’s guest. (Apparently Gordon’s mum is a huge Joan Collins fan.)

*(She actually pronounces it “omelette”.)

Please say things in the comments.

Manned space flight is just another form of welfare

Due to advances in technology, there is now renewed interest in manned space flight. I hope I’m not alone in asking, “What’s the point?” For extraterrestrial scientific discovery, robots do a much better job at a significantly lower cost.

Tom Wolfe, in The Right Stuff, laid it all out. Sending astronauts up into space, during the Cold War, was a return to the medieval practice of single warrior combat. Rather than having whole swarms of fighters slashing and bludgeoning each other, the two opposing forces would, on occasion, send only their best champions to fight, one on one, while the rest would just watch and await a symbolic victory.

The Cold War, however, is over.

Disturbing video shows young Saudi women beaten and dragged by their hair

Security forces reportedly lashed the orphanage residents with belts and sticks after they staged hunger strike over poor living conditions

Saudi Arabia is investigating a disturbing video that shows security forces beating young women and dragging them around by their hair, after they reportedly staged a hunger strike over poor living conditions in an orphanage.

It came as a Saudi woman was sentenced to more than 40 years in jail for comments posted on social media, the second harsh sentence to be passed down this month to female online activists.

The video, which has shocked Saudis after going viral, shows the group of men holding down women dressed in black abayas while they are lashed with belts and sticks.

Rex Murphy: The Trudeau government’s hypocritical stance on hate and its targets

The PM was quick to condemn a protester’s tirade against Chrystia Freeland. But where has he been on the Laith Marouf scandal?

Since we seem to be amidst something of a — wonderful phrase this — “teachable moment” about nasty and vulgar terms tossed at political figures, and we have had the obligatory lecture from the impresario of what is correct to say and what is not, “personkind” Justin Trudeau, let’s have a go at it.

EVs are merely a life hack that won’t save us from climate change

… Yet, the environmental harms of electric vehicles have been well documented: mining for the materials to make the batteries causes devastation to local ecosystems. Their production is also harmful to the people who live where they are built, leading to increased toxicity levels compared to traditional car manufacturing.

Even their emission reductions are modest. In provinces that use renewable energy, like Manitoba, electric cars reduce emissions by 70 per cent, but in most places in the world where electricity still mainly comes from fossil fuels, that number falls to 30 per cent.

Takeaway: EV’s are pretty much useless but we should build em anyway.

Ripped from the Headlines of the Daily Beast! FBI Facing ‘Unprecedented’ MAGA Threats: ‘Time to Hunt Fed Bois’

After FBI agents searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club looking for evidence of multiple federal crimes and documents Trump was never supposed to have in his private possession, some of Trump’s supporters struck a striking, but familiar, refrain: It’s time to kill government officials.

Research shared with The Daily Beast by the Advance Democracy Institute fills in some of the landscape of what the FBI has characterized as an “unprecedented” threat environment, a reaction to what some legal experts consider the most serious legal threat facing the former president.

LIBS OF TIKTOK: Mainstream media isn’t mad about gender surgeries on teens, they’re mad you found out

Two weeks ago you may have seen a lot of news segments surrounding Boston Children’s Hospital. Deleted videos and archived web pages pointed to the fact that they were providing “gender affirming” care to young people including puberty blockers, double mastectomies, phalloplasties, and hysterectomies.

The Left immediately seized upon the wording of one tweet in regard to hysterectomies and argued that it’s only done on 18-year-olds. Because they apparently think that’s okay. They attacked myself, Matt Walsh, Chris Elston, and Christina Buttons for a week straight. So much so that one would believe they are actually very much against “gender affirming” hysterectomies! Just as any sane person with a few brain cells would be.

Canada’s spy agency accused of ‘nabbing British children and trafficking them’ to Islamic State

Asked if CSIS went too far and if there would be an inquiry, Justin Trudeau said ‘rigorous oversight mechanisms’ monitor CSIS operations

Ottawa is accused of covering up its handling of a double agent who smuggled British teenagers into Islamic State territory to join the terror group while he was spying for Canada.

Justin Trudeau, the prime minister, did not deny Ottawa’s work with an operative smuggling Western children to a dangerous battlefield, as outlined in a new book, saying that Canada’s spy agency must “be flexible and be creative” in the war against terrorists.

US life expectancy falls to lowest level in 26 years

Covid, suicide and drug overdoses blamed for decline

American life expectancy has fallen for a second year, and is down by almost three years since the start of the pandemic due to Covid, drug abuse, record suicides and stubborn levels of chronic disease.

In 2019, the average US life expectancy was more than 79 years. In 2020, because of the pandemic, that dropped to 77 years. According to provisional official data released today, Americans born in 2021 will on average now live to 76 years and one month — a level last seen in 1996.
