This image played in my mind as a non-partisan panelist during the Centre Ice Conservatives conference held Thursday. It is not that anyone was a Macbeth murdering his rival, Banquo, to gain power. It is simply that the attendees are disturbed that their favourite candidate for the Conservative leadership, Jean Charest, is unlikely to win the Conservative leadership. Pierre Poilievre’s name was hardly mentioned but his spirit hung over the conference like Banquo’s ghost.

Newly released documents show that Ottawa considered the impact on Canadian jobs and global inflation in its decision to return a turbine being repaired in Montreal to a Russian energy giant.
The “memorandum for action” prepared by Global Affairs recommended Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly grant a permit exempting Siemens Canada from sanctions against Russia and allow it to return the equipment for use in a pipeline carrying gas to Germany.
Surprise! Siemens turbine repair facility is located in Quebec.
I’m certain that had no bearing on Trudeau’s decision of course.
But the Ukraine conflict has provided Trudeau’s Liberal party and other like minded Globalist schemers like Germany the perfect excuse to enforce their green-scam.
Had the turbines not been returned it is entirely possible that Germany would have dropped out of the Ukraine alliance due to domestic unrest and all of their green-scam plans would have been overturned. A domino effect would likely follow with other Euro states following Germany’s example creating a near death blow to Globalist ambitions.

More Canadians are ending their lives with a medically-assisted death, says the third federal annual report on medical assistance in dying (MAID). Data shows that 10,064 people died in 2021 with medical aid, an increase of 32 per cent over 2020.
The report says that 3.3 per cent of all deaths in Canada in 2021 were assisted deaths. On a provincial level, the rate was higher in provinces such as Quebec, at 4.7 per cent, and British Columbia, at 4.8 per cent.

People keep trying to get a read on where Pierre Poilievre would take the Conservative Party. Would he, as some fear and others hope, position it on the far right – fiscally severe, socially intolerant and so on?
Or is he, as others argue, more of a mainstream conservative than his hard-line rhetoric would suggest – witness his refusal to legislate on abortion, or his proposals to make it easier for new immigrants to have their credentials recognized in Canada.

The man accused of stabbing author Salman Rushdie held a fake driver’s license bearing the surname of an infamous Hezbollah commander, it has been claimed.
That driver’s license, which was was found on 24-year-old Hadi Mater bore the name Hassan Mughniyah. Both the first and second names are linked to infamous terrorist organization Hezbollah. The group’s current leader is named Hassan Nasrallah. While one of the group’s most notorious figures was Imad Mughniyeh, who was killed in a CIA-linked assassination in Syria in 2008.
NBC New York reports that Mater’s social media accounts showed that he was sympathetic to Shia causes, including supporting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
