Kim Potter: ‘Taser mix-up’ ex-officer weeps in manslaughter testimony

A former Minnesota police officer has tearfully recounted the “chaotic” moment she shot and killed a black motorist in April.

Kim Potter, 49, claims she mistakenly drew her gun instead of her Taser and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright.

She now faces two manslaughter charges for his death. Her defence team claims he was resisting arrest.

I feel very sorry for this woman. She will not get off despite this being a horrid accident.

The CBC’s ad revenue problem continues

Advertising revenues at the CBC fell again last year. According to Mother Corp’s annual report, recently tabled in Parliament, ad sales were down from $220 million in 2019 to just under $199 million in 2020, a drop of about 10% in one year.

On top of that, CBC’s share of prime-time viewers fell by 2%, despite the fact locked-down Canadians watched more TV than ever before during the pandemic. At any given time during prime viewing hours (8 to 11 p.m.), just 5% of Canadians are watching our state broadcaster.

5% ??? The CBC has succeeded in uniting Canadians in their disdain for the CBC.

BC Forbids Unvaccinated From Hosting or Attending Private Gatherings During the Holidays

British Columbia is forbidding residents who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine from hosting anyone in their homes or attending gatherings in other people’s homes over the holiday season.

“If you are unvaccinated or have members of your family who are unvaccinated, we cannot have personal gatherings in those settings right now,” provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said at a press conference on Dec. 17.

Does this make any sense given who is being infected? The vaccinated vastly outnumber the unvaccinated by infection in Ontario, it can’t be any different in BC.

The Ministry of Health says 905 of Sunday’s cases involve unvaccinated people, 142 involve partially vaccinated people, 2,977 involve fully vaccinated people and 153 involve people with unknown vaccination status.

Stop sharing air says power mad Doc

Epidemiologist says COVID-19 is airborne and it’s time to rethink measures

“I would like to see people cleaning the air, putting in HEPA filters, wearing N95 masks when they need to be indoors with others, such as for grocery shopping, and to physical distance in terms of not sharing air, as opposed to physical distance in terms of standing six feet apart.”

A second opinion… The bottom line from Evans though is: “If you have a lot of money and you can afford an N95 mask or one of those equivalents, go ahead and buy them.”

You buying the filters and masks Doc?

The CDC Caught in their Own Lies: The Unvaccinated in the U.S. for COVID-19 is “Millions” More than Originally Reported

The U.S. government has overcounted the number of Americans who are at least partly vaccinated against the coronavirus, Bloomberg reports.

Why it matters: Millions more people than initially thought are unprotected as coronavirus infections, hospitalizations and deaths are rising across the country.

Three states — Illinois, Pennsylvania and West Virginia — found enough over-counting of first shots to indicate millions of unvaccinated people had mistakenly been counted as having received a dose.

Trudeau government spending spree comes with huge costs

The Trudeau government’s recent throne speech, which presents the government’s main priorities, didn’t mention the words “deficit” or “debt” once but included more than 30 references to different government programs including national daycare and a mandated energy transition. This government continues to present its historical level of spending, largely financed by borrowing, as costless to Canadians, which is dishonest.

‘Climate-friendly’ menu coming to your palate: Mealworms. EU ‘approves insects for human consumption’

The European Union’s landmark decision last week to approve insects for human consumption was a victory for grubs and maggots — and people — the world over. The approval confers a kind of dignity to the lowly, protein-rich microbeasts that we foolishly dismiss as pests, and delivers a clear signal that the insect proteins industry is poised for significant growth. Above all, it paves the way for an alternative protein source that should play a critical role in feeding a hotter, more populous world.

The COVID-19 Passport Microchip Is Here

What one year ago would be considered a crazy conspiracy theory is now becoming a reality.

A Swedish company, Epicenter, has brought forward new tech where they created a subdermal implant to show COVID-19 vaccination certificates. This makes it possible for people to keep their vaccination certificates, right under their skin in a microchip.

Ontario’s ‘top doctor’ says double-vaxxed people should stay away from triple-vaxxed relatives

“I personally would advise you to avoid social contact with anyone older even with two doses,” Moore answered. “If you are going to interact I would do it outdoors with masking and distancing in place. I hope the weather stays reasonable across Ontario to enable that.”

Canada Just Saw The Second Largest Quarter For Population Growth Ever

Canada’s population growth came to a halt during the start of the pandemic, but it’s back with a fury. Statistics Canada (Stat Can) data shows population growth had the second biggest quarter ever in Q4 2021. Estimates are now back to pre-pandemic levels, as backlogs begin to clear. Most of this growth was concentrated in two provinces, BC and Ontario.

Shameless Fauci Considers Replacing ‘Radioactive’ Word ‘Mandate’ With Kindler, Gentler Term

As I reported earlier this month, Fauci began discussing changing the continually evolving definition of “fully vaccinated” in earnest, telling CNN host Kate Bouldon “it’s going be a matter of when not if.”

What Happened to Liberty and Justice for All?

The “Pledge of Allegiance” when I was a kid was just a series of sounds we would make to start the school day. Look at the flag on the wall. Hand over heart. Say words we do not understand.

Later, researching this thing, I concluded that the pledge originated as mere prattle to instill patriotism during the Spanish-American War, and also bully new immigrants into giving up native loyalties. I’d say the pledges but not with enthusiasm.

And yet: last night, I joined others in saying the pledge at an event. I choked up at one point. Why? It was these words: “liberty and justice for all.”
