Brooks: Teachers Have Gone ‘Further Left’ While Parents Haven’t, Parental Involvement ‘a Very Bad Issue’ for Dems

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated parental involvement in education is “a very bad issue for the Democrats.” Brooks also said that the main cause for the issue is that people in education have gone “further left in the last few years. The median parent has not gone significantly further left. So, there’s a culture gap in the values in the way we talk about history, the way we talk about sexual education and gender issues.”

The American Medical Association has fallen into Marxist lockstep with Critical Race Theory.

“Doctors covering mouth, ears and eyes in hospital”

As part of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) equity plan to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the powerful lobbying group is sponsoring 100 virtual screenings of Black Men in White Coats. The thesis of this film—which improbably boasts the U.S. Army and Navy as “corporate sponsors”—is that blacks will “continue dying” unless there are more black doctors.

Is Justin Trudeau Placing Democracy On Permanent Vacation?

“It’s wrong that in the middle of the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Justin Trudeau is waiting 63 days to return to work,” stated Conservative House Leader Gerard Deltell.

“By the time MPs return it will have been six months since the House last met.”

FERNANDO: As Inflation Rises, You Are Being Robbed

Imagine for a moment that once a month, you received a visit from a robber.

The robber is always let into your residence and takes a few things of value.

Perhaps some dishes, or a phone, a computer, some pillows, etc.…

You never lose everything all at once, but bit by bit more and more is taken away from you.

Then, imagine that moreover, you pay the robber a monthly fee.

In addition to what he takes, you give him 40% of what you make.

Again, that’s on top of the monthly robbery.

So, you’re paying to get robbed once a month.

How does that sound?

YouTube Bans Conservative Bryson Gray’s Hit Song “Let’s Go Brandon”

Google-owned YouTube has banned accounts that use the phrase, “Let’s go, Brandon” and “F**k Joe Biden.” They are also adding strikes to people who use those phrases that go towards taking down a site or at least demonetizing them. Conservative hip-hop artists Bryson Gray and Chandler Crump have had their popular songs removed from the platform entirely. Their song has caused their account to be suspended a week, for, wait for it, “Medical Misinformation”.

Norway and England Bow-and-Arrow and Political Assassination Attacks Reveal Lone Actor Jihadist Terrorism Trend in Europe

On October 13, a man shot eight people with a bow and arrow in Kongsberg, Norway, a town southwest of the capital city, Oslo. Five people were killed, and three others were injured. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Espen Andersen Bråthen, a Danish citizen born in Norway, was subsequently arrested. Bråthen has claimed to be a convert to Islam, but according to Norway’s Islamic community his conversion was based only on his announcement and was therefore not valid. According to press reports Bråthen’s confusing behavior was widely known and he was suspected of suffering from mental illness. The Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) was warned about Bråthen already in 2015. While Bråthen´s motivation is under investigation, the crime is being investigated as a terrorism offence

How Belarus is helping ‘tourists’ break into the EU

Belarus has been accused of taking revenge for EU sanctions by offering migrants tourist visas, and helping them across its border. The BBC has tracked one group trying to reach Germany.

The mobile phone camera pans left and right, but no-one moves. The exhausted travellers lie scattered among the trees.

Jamil has his head in his hands, his wife Roshin slumped forward next to him. The others look dead.

Late afternoon light slants through the forest, the pine trees forming a dense natural prison. They’ve been walking since four in the morning.

An Unlikely Intellectual Convergence

Christopher Lasch and Michel Foucault told a similar story about the modern obsession with identity—and its dangers.

Christopher Lasch and Michel Foucault are rarely read side by side. Yet the two thinkers praised each other’s work, recognizing themselves as involved in a common project. Both assessed, on the one hand, the ways elites use networks of expertise and injunctions to moral “liberation” to strengthen their domination—and, on the other, the ways that modern people have come to look for knowledge of themselves from such experts. They shared a sense that beneath progressive policies for public welfare, demands for sexual freedom and identity-based affirmation, and therapeutic practices of self-discovery lies a dangerous potential for authoritarianism and alienation.

The baleful consequences of failing to deal with Islamist extremism

The West is like the apocryphal frog being uncomprehendingly boiled in the pot. In Britain, the pot is being heated very slowly; in France, it has reached boiling point; and in America, it has boiled over with Jews actually helping turn up the heat.

(October 21, 2021 / JNS) On both sides of the English Channel, the failure to grasp the nettle of Islamist extremism and the frightening consequences of that failure are sounding an urgent alarm for the whole of Western society.

Last weekend, a British Conservative Member of Parliament, Sir David Amess, was stabbed to death in his regular constituency meeting. The man accused of murdering the MP, Ali Harbi Ali, is a British man of Somalian descent who had been referred to Britain’s anti-extremism program but had not been considered a threat.

Snakes on a train – Philadelphia-style

City of Brotherly Love? – not quite.

According to reports, help came from nowhere, until it was too late. A woman was being raped on a Philadelphia commuter train and fellow passengers did nothing.

Correction: Yes. They did something. They used their smartphones to take videos. That is all they did. Only later, after the assault, a transit officer called police.

But the damage was done, to the woman, the town, the country, the mayor, Jim Kenney, the president, Joe Biden.

The story made headlines and continues to disgust and dismay.

In Major Shift, NIH Admits Funding Risky Virus Research in Wuhan

A spokesman for Dr. Fauci says he has been “entirely truthful,” but a new letter belatedly acknowledging the National Institutes of Health’s support for virus-enhancing research adds more heat to the ongoing debate over whether a lab leak could have sparked the pandemic.

“Itotally resent the lie you are now propagating.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared to be channeling the frustration of millions of Americans when he spoke those words during an invective-laden, made-for-Twitter Senate hearing on July 20. You didn’t have to be a Democrat to be fed up with all the xenophobic finger-pointing and outright disinformation, coming mainly from the right, up to and including the claim that COVID-19 was a bioweapon cooked up in a lab.

The immediate target of Dr. Fauci’s wrath was Senator Rand Paul, who was pressing the nation’s top doctor to say whether the National Institutes of Health had ever funded risky coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Based on new information disclosed by the National Institutes of Health, however, Paul might have been onto something.
