The Great Betrayal

Our own Department of Defense and other United States government agencies gave millions of dollars to a charity that funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which was in part used for research to genetically manipulate coronaviruses to be communicable among humans. Through review of the evidence, Dr. Charles B. Simone, a leading immunologist, medical oncologist, and radiation oncologist, is among those asking serious questions about United States/People’s Republic of China (PRC) collaboration through the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I draw here from Dr. Simone’s trove of evidence. If hearings are held, Dr. Simone should be among those subpoenaed to testify.

Lest We Hold Our Manhoods Cheap

What does it say about the character of a nation when it’s willing to enlist its daughters in the draft?

On December 1, 1969, we senior ROTC guys gathered in front of a dorm TV to watch the Vietnam War draft lottery. We’d already taken our enlistment oaths and completed our six-week basic training at Fort Sill. Come summer, we’d be commissioned officers, headed out to our branch schools. So we were watching with purely academic interest, wondering, “What if the lottery had come two years earlier and we’d made the exemption cut?”

Shifting to a low-carbon economy will profoundly change the everyday lives of Canadians. Do the Liberals understand that?

When the federal Liberals rolled out with fanfare last week their plan to deal with the human cost of cutting greenhouse gases, their timing was dubious.

It’s been two years, after all, since the Liberals committed to legislating a “just transition” for people working in fossil fuels who lose their jobs as Canada moves toward an economy that produces net-zero emissions.

Work had started on that front in 2017, with then-environment minister Catherine McKenna moving to set up a task force to help workers and communities impacted by government decisions to put an end to coal-fired electricity.

Islamophobia or nourishing the breeding ground of political Islam?

MONTREAL — In preparation for the National Summit on Islamophobia, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) released a series of recommendations that were reported in the media.

As their report rightly states, Canadian Muslims are not a monolithic group.

As Canadian citizens of Muslim culture or religion, we welcome all initiatives to combat hatred and intolerance and to foster social cohesion and understanding among citizens.

However, not only do we not see any social cohesion in the NCCM’s recommendations, but we consider, on the contrary, that their report only exacerbates tensions and accentuates anti-Muslim feelings.

‘I felt violated by the demand to undress’: three Muslim women on France’s hostility to the hijab

Last October, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, laid out the vision behind a new, deeply controversial bill. The government claimed a minority of France’s estimated 6 million Muslims were at risk of forming a “counter-society” and the bill was designed to tackle the dangers of this “Islamist separatism”.

Macron is right.

Communist China’s New Plan: Digital Currency

Communist China is adding another element to its toolbox of surveilling and controlling its population. Already known as the country in the world with the most pervasive surveillance and social credit system, China has now created a digital currency, the digital renminbi or yuan — also known as Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP) — to ensure that hardly any transaction goes unregistered.

Unlike cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, which are not issued by governments and therefore cannot be used as means of payment in most daily transactions, China’s digital currency is issued and controlled by China’s central bank.

An online propaganda campaign used AI-generated headshots to create fake journalists

A network of fictional journalists, analysts, and political consultants has been used to place opinion pieces favorable to certain Gulf states in a range of media outlets, an investigation from The Daily Beast has revealed. At least 19 fake personas were used to author op-eds published in dozens of mainly conservative publications, with AI-generated headshots of would-be authors used to trick targets into believing the writers were real people.

Mapping the advance of the Taliban in Afghanistan

The resurgent Taliban have taken more territory in Afghanistan in the last two months than at any time since they were ousted from power in 2001.

Over the last 20 years, the control map of Afghanistan has been an ever-changing canvas. Here, we look at the fluctuating picture of who controls which areas.

It appears the Taliban have been emboldened in recent weeks by the withdrawal of US troops – retaking many districts from government forces.

‘Signs of Senility’: Brit Hume Calls Out Biden’s Slipping Mental State

Between his bumbling about during a CNN town hall last week and his over the weekend episode where he seemingly says “my butt’s been wiped,” the condition of President Biden’s mental faculties had drawn increased scrutiny in recent days. And during an appearance on Monday’s Special Report, Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume did what the liberal media refused to do and called it out, noting “these are signs of senility.”

The trio, who are not related by birth or marriage, all came to Germany with their families in 2015.
