‘Transgender Realities In The Lord Of The Rings’: Facing Accusations of Racism, Tolkien Society To Focus on ‘Diversity’ At Seminar

The Tolkien Society has announced that the theme of its 2021 Summer Seminar, held July 3 – 4, will be “Tolkien and Diversity.”

Established in 1969, the Society describes itself as an educational charity and literary organization founded to promote the work of ‘Lord of the Rings’ and Hobbit author, J.R.R. Tolkien. It claims hundreds of members in 22 countries and “received the blessing of Tolkien himself when he agreed to become the Society’s president.”

The New Left-Wing Fascism

Although Classical Marxist “socioeconomic” theory is still taught—mostly as an introductory or minor component in some undergraduate courses—it is no longer taken seriously by apparatchiks as the bedrock upon which the edifice of Marxism rests. Leftist ideology, for the want of a better phrase, has shifted its ideological foundations since the demise of the Soviet Union and the rise of China, away from the Classical Marxist metanarrative of dialectical materialism and its concomitant “class struggle”.

For those who have little idea what Classical Marxism is and how far its devotees have strayed from the path, a little clarification may be helpful. Classical Marxists claim that ideology and theory, in short, human value judgments, were the products of a linear socioeconomic historical development based on “dialectical materialism”, a pseudo-science concocted by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, which emphasises the importance of real-world conditions and relationships, in terms of human labour, to which the fate of the individual was locked in and determined by their class. In other words, individuals were not free agents, but part of an unfolding historical metanarrative.

Diane Francis: What Trudeau’s spin doctors won’t tell you about vaccine dose delays

Diane Francis: What Trudeau’s spin doctors won’t tell you about vaccine dose delays

It is premature for the Trudeau propaganda machine to crow about its huge vaccination achievement, given that the country still lags developed nations in fully vaccinating its populace.

This week, the figures show that 66 per cent of Canadians have received one dose but still only 14 per cent have been fully vaccinated. This spread is unique among our peers and has been due to Public Health Canada’s unsupportable dose-delay gambit designed to ration vaccines to camouflage the fact that the Trudeau government has fumbled vaccine procurement for nearly one year.

Critical Race Theory and Academic Freedom

State-based legislation banning the teaching of the toxic ideology is philosophically and legally justifiable.

Recent red-state bans or restrictions on the use of critical race theory (CRT) in public schools and universities have been denounced by mainstream media. While most of the bans primarily target CRT’s racial essentialism—prohibitions on “assigning fault, blame, or bias to a race or sex, or to members of a race or sex because of their race or sex,” according to a bill signed into law in Iowa last week—the new legislation is regularly described as an attack on “diversity” or “racial sensitivity” training…

Welcome to Wokespeak: Its Logic-Defying Rhetoric Is Making Heads Spin

In the midst of the nation’s racial upheaval last year, media outlets including the Associated Press, the New York Times and the Washington Post rushed to start capitalizing the word “Black” in reference to African Americans, some announcing the move as a long-overdue gesture of respect. While RealClear has not changed its style, the change elsewhere prompted newsroom soul-searching on whether to write “white” or “White” in reference to people of European descent.

Iran’s Fake Presidential Election

Iran’s so-called presidential election today, June 18, is a fraud, a ruse for the world to observe and seemingly domestically designed to release some pent-up popular pressure.

Iran’s presidency itself is a weak institution of weak political superstructure which also includes the legislative branch (the majles, the sort-of equivalent of a parliament). This highly visible but insubstantial governmental apparatus masks the real power in Iran: the “deep state” of the Islamic Republic.

Feminist artist is cancelled by the Royal Academy after trans activists complained about her blog calling a woman ‘an adult human female’

A feminist artist has been cancelled by the Royal Academy after trans activists complained about her 2019 blog in which she called a woman ‘an adult human female’ and criticised LGBT charity Stonewall.

The institution pulled the work of Jess de Wahls, a textile artist born in East Berlin, from its gift shop after activists accused her of expressing ‘transphobic views’ in a blog posted to her website two years ago.

Miss de Wahls had criticised ‘gender identity ideology’ and Stonewall, the controversial LGBT organisation which has been accused of fostering a climate of intolerance in workplaces across the UK.

MP Slams Child Marriage, Admits It’s ’Prevalent in Certain Communities‘

Conservative MP Sajid Javid has said allowing children under 18 to marry is “child abuse”, admitting it was a cultural practice “prevalent in certain communities”.

Mr Javid, who had served as home secretary and chancellor of the exchequer, made the remarks after drafting a Bill to scrap the legal loophole which allows underaged people to be coerced into marriages. Under current law, 16- and 17-year-olds can marry with their parents’ consent in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In Scotland, the legal age to marry without parental support is 16.

Afghanistan: District after district falls to the Taliban

Since the beginning of NATO’s official troop withdrawal from Afghanistan on May 1, the Islamist militant group has taken over at least 27 districts from Afghan forces, and the number is rapidly increasing.

The Taliban are intensifying attacks across Afghanistan to gain more territory ahead of NATO’s troop withdrawal in September. The militant group now controls vast swaths of land.

Heavy fighting in many districts in recent weeks has inflicted heavy losses on both Taliban and government forces.

On Wednesday, more than 20 Afghan commandos were killed in the northern Faryab province as they tried to regain control of Dawlat Abad district, which Taliban militants had seized 10 days ago.

Ronny Jackson, House Republicans Call for Joe Biden Cognitive Assessment

Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX) and several other House Republicans are calling for President Joe Biden to undergo a cognitive assessment after his trip to Europe.

In a letter dated June 17, Jackson and his colleagues noted Biden agreed to such an assessment and detailed several examples of where Biden’s “mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent over the past eighteen months,”

I don’t think it really matters given his admin is simply Obama 2.0, Joe is better off as he is.

AstraZeneca jab hailed as perfect excuse to avoid attending Springsteen show

Vaccine rule for Springsteen Broadway show adds travel uncertainty for AstraZeneca recipients

Drunk Trump deranged celebrity idiot

David Screech had already selected his seats and put in his credit card information for Springsteen on Broadway tickets when he noticed the COVID-19 vaccine requirements: his two doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford wouldn’t be enough for admission.

Screech, the mayor of View Royal, B.C., and a Springsteen fan of 40 years, received his second AstraZeneca dose last week, but the Jujamcyn Theaters’ website said it would only allow guests “fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine” — Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
