Leaked Document From Chinese Company Corroborates CSIS Security Concerns

A leaked document from a major Chinese company with Canadian operations offers evidence that corroborates with security concerns Canada’s intelligence agency has raised over foreign state-owned enterprises.

The document, recently obtained by The Epoch Times, is a directive by the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). It was issued in August to its overseas offices in more than 10 countries, including Canada. As previously reported by Epoch, the directive asks the offices to “urgently destroy or transfer sensitive documents” relating to “overseas [Chinese Communist] Party-building activities.”

Iran’s Mullahs Want the “Nuclear Deal”, So Does Biden

Iran’s ruling mullahs, who are celebrating presumptive President-Elect Joe Biden’s possible presidency in 2021, are already calling on him to rejoin the 2015 nuclear deal, which, incidentally, Iran never signed.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani — already urging the next US administration, which he hopes is the Biden administration — also pointed out, according to the state-run IRNA agency:

“Now, an opportunity has come up for the next U.S. administration to compensate for past mistakes and return to the path of complying with international agreements through respect of international norms.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif also advised Biden on Twitter to abandon President Trump’s Iran policy of maximum pressure and rejoin the nuclear deal.

Rex Murphy: A 237-page fiscal update but still no budget?

Finance Canada’s Top Bureaucrat Announces Departure A Day After The Government’s Fall Economic Update, screamed a headline on the National Post’s website. Ya, he probably resigned after actually reading the document.

With $400 billion to play with, one would think that Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s communications team could find at least one person to touch up her speech on Monday about the “Fall Economic Statement” who isn’t running an active vendetta against the English language.

France: Police to inspect over 70 ‘separatist’ mosques

French authorities are set to inspect 76 mosques across the country, in an unprecedented action against “separatism,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced on Thursday.

“76 mosques are now suspected of separatism,” Darmanin tweeted. “In the coming days, checks will be carried out on these places of worship. If ever these doubts are confirmed, I will ask for their closure.”

Too little, too late.

Chinese step up attempts to influence Biden team – US official

Chinese agents have stepped up their efforts to influence President-elect Joe Biden’s incoming administration, a US intelligence official has said.

Mr Evanina said it was an influence campaign “on steroids”.

Separately, a justice department official said more than 1,000 suspected Chinese agents had fled the US.

UK: Pregnant Women Warned Not to Have Coronavirus Shot

A government advisory committee has advised against pregnant women having the new coronavirus jab because there is not enough data on its safety for that demographic.

On Wednesday, the United Kingdom became the first Western country to approve a vaccine, developed by Pfizer/BioNTech, for the Chinese coronavirus. The first rollout of jabs is expected next week, with healthcare staff and care home residents being prioritised.

Ontario is reporting more than 1,800 new COVID-19 cases and 14 more deaths on Thursday but today’s case count reflects an overestimate due to a processing error.

There are currently about 40 ongoing preliminary investigations against Daesh* returnees over war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. So far, almost none of the Swedish jihadists has faced trial.

A woman who travelled to Syria and joined Daesh has returned to Sweden. While the woman was arrested upon arrival at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport on suspicion of unlawful separation of children, her future remains unclear, the newspaper Sydsvenskan reported.

Proud Boys join protest at defiant Staten Island bar closed over COVID-19 violations

Hundreds of people on Wednesday night — including members of the right-wing group Proud Boys — protested the closure of a Staten Island bar that ignored COVID-19 restrictions.

“Proud Boys in the house,” a handful of people chanted outside Mac’s Public House — the defiant pub that was shut down by authorities Tuesday night after operating without a license and in violation of health orders.

CSIS accuses Russia, China and Iran of spreading COVID-19 disinformation

A report by Canada’s intelligence service accuses Russia, China and Iran of spreading COVID-19 disinformation to promote their strategic ambitions.

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service named the trio of countries in a declassified report titled COVID-19: Global Effects and Canadian National Security Interests.

It said Russia was “actively spreading disinformation blaming the West for the virus,” as part of a broader campaign to discredit the West, promote Russian influence and push for an end to Western sanctions.

I’d include Justin “Reset” Trudeau in that list.
