Justin Trudeau’s 10-year election anniversary post did not go over well with Canadians

It’s been a decade since Justin Trudeau was elected as prime minister of Canada, and he wanted to pay tribute to that time.

Here’s Why Transgender Identities Are Finally In Freefall

Elon Musk vulnerably told the world in July 2024, “My son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind virus,” adding starkly, “They call it deadnaming for a reason … they call it deadnaming because your son is dead.” Musk explained this mind virus to Bill Maher on his show more than a year earlier as a psychic spell where “you can’t question things; even the questioning is bad.”

Samuel Williams vs Lucy Connolly

For Samuel Williams, the Oxford PPE student who led a chant at the pro-Palestine march in London last weekend, to be successfully prosecuted the Police and the CPS will have to equate Zionists with Jews. I’m a Zionist, but I’m not a Jew. Someone like Zack Polanski is a Jew but, seemingly not a Zionist.

Allowing the pro-Palestinian marches week after week to chant anti-Zionist slogans is only justifiable if Zionists and Jews aren’t synonymous. If they were the same, then the chants would be illegal.

Conservatives urged to soften stance after Poilievre’s comments on ‘despicable’ RCMP face backlash

OTTAWA—Under fire over Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s criticism of the RCMP senior leadership as “despicable,” the Opposition leader’s office instructed Conservative MPs on Monday to reinforce a more positive message about the nation’s police force.

Talking points sent to Conservative MPs who may face public or media questions about Poilievre’s controversial remarks were obtained by the Star by a confidential source.

A “confidential source”, The Star, The Globe and the NatPo all have anti-Poilievre pieces.

Wokeness Splits the Church of England

There are few experiences more simultaneously humbling and spiritually uplifting than entering a medieval cathedral – those uniquely magnificent, soaring structures designed to bridge heaven and earth, adorned inside and out with artwork and sculptures of astonishing detail and power, by craftsmen whose worldview was suffused with the sacred. It would take an utterly soulless person to want to desecrate such beauty. Or a woke ideologue.

Anti-Semitism has infected the NHS

Britain’s National Health Service has become a hotbed of anti-Semitism. It seems nearly every week brings a new case of an NHS doctor expressing foul views about Jews. Worse, these views seem to be expressed with impunity. The problem is now so serious that the health secretary, Wes Streeting, has vowed to overhaul the UK’s medical regulator to ‘root out the evil of racism’ from the NHS.

A report in The Times cites the case of Rahmeh Aladwan, a trainee doctor from Manchester. In September, she faced the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Service (MPTS) for describing the Royal Free Hospital in north London as a ‘Jewish supremacy cesspit’. She also said that the Holocaust was a ‘fabricated victim narrative’ and described the terrorists who carried out the 7 October 2023 pogrom as ‘martyrs’ who were repelling ‘foreign Jews’. According to The Times, she was even filmed making a ‘throat-slit gesture’ towards a group of Jews.

Poilievre says RCMP comments were directed at former commissioner

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says his accusations of political interference by the RCMP during former prime minister Justin Trudeau’s tenure were directed at the national police service’s former commissioner, not the institution itself.

“I stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve,” Poilievre wrote in a statement on Monday. “Today and every day, I thank them for their service.”

Hit pieces galore in the media ostensibly about the RCMP “scandal”.

Grooming gang victim quits inquiry panel over ‘condescending language towards survivors’

Keir Starmer’s national grooming gang inquiry has suffered a blow after a prominent survivor resigned from its overseeing panel saying she disagreed with a shortlist of two possible chairs.

Fiona Goddard, who was abused by an organised street gang in Bradford while living in a children’s home, stepped down on Monday from the victims survivor liaison panel, voicing concern over political interference and the “condescending and controlling language used towards survivors” during the process.

Two prospective candidates to chair the inquiry, the former deputy chief constable Jim Gamble and the chair of the child safeguarding practice review panel, Annie Hudson, are due to meet the panel on Tuesday.

A cruel farce.

France: Civil War By 2030?

I’m sending you an extra newsletter today because I’ve just read (in French) a stunning interview in Valeurs Actuelles, the Paris magazine. I reproduce it below in translation; the italics are in the original:

Is France on the verge of tipping over? “With 28 knife attacks per day, the country is no longer safe. We’re heading straight for disaster,” Jean-Louis Sanchet replies bluntly. This private security consultant created and commanded CRS No. 8, the national police’s specialized unit for combating urban violence from 2021 to 2023.

Criticizing Immigration Laws is Not Racist

“I’m not racist, but”, “I don’t want to sound racist, but”, is what I’ve been hearing from some of my Canadian friends in recent conversations.

Growing up in Canada, our immigration policy was a source of pride. We had a robust system that made sure we took in highly educated immigrants from all over the world. I remember in high school, my math teacher had immigrated from Algeria, and had a PhD in computer science. Canada even welcomed a modest amount of refugees from oppressed countries, and I would hear stories from Uber drivers tell me how grateful they were to be in Canada.

The author wants you to know that frank discussion about immigration is a recent thing in his genteel circles.

That’s not the case on this blog or among it’s readers.

He encourages readers to be bold and speak freely about difficult subjects but perversely ends with a warning about the rise of populism which evidently should not be mentioned in polite company somehow overlooking that populism gave voice to the people most harmed by mass immigration.

The author resides in Texas. Why do I suspect the blog and it’s author are an AI fiction?

DND official lambasts western leaders for anti-U.S. comments

A top Canadian defence department official has admonished western leaders for pushing back against Trump administration policies and raising concerns the U.S. is abandoning its allies.

Raquel Garbers, the chief architect of Canada’s new defence policy, accused western leaders of helping Russia and China with their “absurd anti-United States narratives.”

“To suggest that the U.S. can’t be trusted as an ally because it is ‘mistreating its friends’ is to indulge in the fantastical view that states privilege sentimentality over national interest,” she wrote in an opinion piece in the Oct. 15 issue of the Hill Times, a newspaper aimed at Canadian parliamentarians.

Can the Anti-Defamation League Be Saved?

What the decline of the nation’s oldest anti-Semitism-fighting org says about the future of Jewish politics.

For over a century, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has presented itself as the frontline defender of Jewish Americans. For decades it worked with prosecutors and police, using criminal law to make real-world harassment costly. Over the last generation, however, it has become a prestige “anti-hate” consultancy, focused on developing lesson plans around microaggressions, selectively handing down virtue-signaling edicts, and regularly congratulating itself for being on the right (i.e., left) side of history.

Canada Overrun With Nazis … Again … says Guardian

Western intelligence agencies eye neo-fascist fight clubs: ‘an international white supremacist movement’

Neo-fascist fight clubs, which are a global locus of neo-nazism, have caught the eye of western intelligence agencies that consider them a burgeoning national security threat, according to experts and government documents reviewed by the Guardian.

“Active clubs”, pseudo mixed martial arts gangs preaching a strain of far-right activism inspired by the teachings of Adolf Hitler, are well known to be moving across borders. But the revelation that official security services are keeping watch over them, the same kind of agencies known to surveil proscribed terrorist organizations like the Islamic State, shows how active clubs are an evolving and quickly growing threat.

“Intelligence agencies want to be aware of extremist networks that exist in their countries,” said Joshua Fisher-Birch, a terrorism analyst at the Counter Extremism Project, about active clubs, “their potential for current or future violence, and what links they may have to other movements and individuals, both domestically and internationally.”
