Little progress being made in Canada-U.S. trade talks as Carney’s focus shifts to Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C. — When it comes to Canada-U.S. trade negotiations, things have been eerily quiet in Washington, D.C. recently.

Much of the focus in Washington has been on trade with the United Kingdom and U.S. President Donald Trump’s historic second state visit there this week. The trip promises plenty of royal pageantry that British leaders hope will persuade the American leader to lower tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

Kimmel Suspended Indefinitely From ABC

ABC is taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air after the late night host claimed on Monday that “the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

From the NYTIMES – ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Off Air for Charlie Kirk Comments

… Mr. Carr, in an interview on a right-wing podcast on Wednesday, said that Mr. Kimmel’s remarks about the suspect were part of a “concerted effort to lie to the American people” and said his agency was “going to have remedies that we can look at.”

“Frankly, when you see stuff like this — I mean, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Mr. Carr told the podcast’s host, Benny Johnson. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the F.C.C. ahead.”

Wow that was shitty of Kimmel.

Even Muslim countries think Britain has a problem with Islamism

Since Labour came to power, it has become clear that the battle against extremism has taken a back seat to political expediency. Labour has always had a counter-extremism problem, and after two decades of work I have done in this area which started post 7/7 under the Blair government, Labour continues to flounder in challenging Islamism in Britain.

This Government, it seems, is being straight-jacketed by Islamist loudmouths who have hijacked the public discourse space on who represents Muslims in the UK. These political extremists who have hijacked Islam continue to smear and threaten those within Muslim communities who dare to challenge their poisonous and divisive discourse. In the meantime, instead of supporting the Muslim voices who challenge Islamist organisations and their penumbra of supporters, this Government has opened its doors to these toxic groups in the mistaken belief that they are needed to placate Labour’s electoral base.

Charlie Kirk Did It All the Right Way

He exposed the lies at the heart of radical left-wing ideologies—and paid the ultimate price for telling the truth.

Like almost everyone in my circle, I have spent the better part of the last week in a stupor. The news of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination has left all of us who counted him as a friend or colleague in a state of shock and sadness.

I did not know Charlie Kirk well. But I had met him in various green rooms, appeared on his radio program, and worked with him to find capable staffers for the Department of Education. He was always genuine, idealistic, and dedicated to the cause. I’m still astonished by all that he accomplished in such a short period of time. He built an enormous organization, turned himself into a media star, advised the president of the United States, and built a beautiful family—all by age 31.

Terry Newman: Carney follows Trudeau with hollow boast about female Liberal MPs

Monday’s first session of Question Period opened with Prime Minister Mark Carney and Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre displaying common courtesy toward each other, and a bit of humour from Poilievre, who, after thanking the constituents of his new riding, Battle River-Crowfoot, also thanked Carney for calling a prompt byelection, playfully quipping, “I wonder if one day he might regret that decision.”

PBS: ‘Conservatives Doxxing’ Kirk Ghouls vs. ‘Citizen Investigators’ Hunting J6ers

Saturday’s PBS News Hour accused conservatives of doxxing the ghouls who celebrated the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. The criticism came up in a conversation between substitute host/reporter Lisa Desjardins and PBS’s dubious extremism expert Cynthia Miller-Idriss, the far-left director of American University’s Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab (PERIL).
