Younger Canadians reject peacekeeping role in Ukraine, Gaza: survey

Though involvement has diminished in recent decades, Canada has traditionally portrayed itself and operated as a peacekeeping nation since the Second World War.

Whether due to the Canadian Forces’ efforts in the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, or even going back to Lester B. Pearson’s instrumental and Nobel Peace Prize-winning role in de-escalating the 1956 Suez Crisis, the peacekeeper role became a core component of Canadians’ self-image.

I don’t expect much by way of civic mindedness, patriotism or empathy from a generation of young people whose dreams have been crushed by the evil  actions of Canada’s Liberal government and our Corporate Welfare parasites: Think runaway immigration is being fixed? Pope Leo on prospect of trillionaire Elon Musk: ‘We’re in big trouble’

Pope Leo has condemned the huge wages earned by top chief executives, citing Elon Musk’s possible rise to trillionaire status as a concern, in his first interview since being elected in May.

The pontiff also warned that the United Nations was unable to resolve the world’s crises, admitted he was on a steep learning curve as a diplomat and revealed who he would support at the next World Cup.

Since his election the Pope, who was born Robert Prevost in Chicago, has made clear his fears for the plight of the world’s low earners — taking the papal name Leo in honour of Leo XIII, the 19th-century pontiff who campaigned for better wages and union rights for factory workers.

Black on White Crime: The Wrong Narrative

Why is the cultural nirvana of ‘diversity’ only required in white countries, and how long can this disastrous pattern be allowed to continue?

The savage murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina, took place almost three weeks ago. It has, alas, only recently been acknowledged by the mainstream media. The CCTV footage, widely circulated via social media, is chilling for so many reasons—not least of which is the fact that the killer, DeCarlos Brown Jr, is oft-depicted hovering ghoul-like behind the unsuspecting Iryna as she casually checks her phone. There could be no finer meme juxtaposing the evil stalking the West and the innocence of those picking up the tab.

Bernier targets Punjabi truck drivers: Calls for US pressure on Ford and Freeland

PPC leader Maxime Bernier has called for US Secretary of Transportation to talk to Doug Ford and Christya Freeland about how drivers from Punjab are “taking over” the Canadian trucking industry.

“US secretary of transportation @SecDuffy should ask @fordnation and @cafreeland about the takeover of the Canadian trucking industry by reckless drivers from Punjab. This is a threat to road safety on both sides of the border. How many Canadians and Americans have to die before we put an end to it?” Bernier tweeted on Sunday.

Conrad Black: I was with Trump when Charlie Kirk died. He grieved like a leader

In an astounding coincidence, as the news arrived that Charlie Kirk, founder and head of the enlightened traditionalist movement Turning Point USA, had been assassinated, I was sitting in the Oval Office of the White House across the Resolute Desk from the President of the United States. Although I have known him for more than 25 years and have generally been in touch with him throughout that period, I had not seen him in person for some years. I have written approximately two million words about him, almost all of it reasonably or unambiguously favourable, though not uncritically so, mainly on U.S. Internet sites, as well as a book that was appreciative of him though no hagiography, (A President Like no Other).

MAGA is coming to Europe

As liberals scoff, the Right is rising

The edifices of the age of globalisation are toppling one by one. The institutions of our multilateral world are fading. The cult of diversity, equity and inclusion is going into reverse. The liberal media has lost its monopoly on setting agendas as people turn to alternative news sources. After the murder of Charlie Kirk, things will only get worse.

Liberal staffers strategized over $1-billion loan for Chinese ferries while Freeland dismissed federal connection

As Transport Minister Chrystia Freeland was in the House of Commons distancing Ottawa from BC Ferries’ plan to buy four new ships from a Chinese state-owned shipyard, senior Liberal advisers were debating how to manage a looming announcement that there was in fact a connection.

Canada Infrastructure Bank, a federal Crown corporation, had provided $1-billion in financing for the purchase.

The Globe and Mail has obtained internal e-mails involving senior Liberal political aides, including one sent at 2:17 p.m. on June 18 just as the daily Question Period was about to start.

The Godfather of Global Disorder

Trump is right: George Soros belongs in prison.

President Trump’s latest broadside landed with the familiar thunder of one of his off-the-cuff declarations. In a rather interesting interview with NBC News, he called for billionaire George Soros to be “put in jail.” To his critics, it sounded like yet another wild Trump line, a flourish designed to inflame. It carried the same cadence as the time he promised “fire and fury” for Kim Jong Un, or when he declared NATO allies were “delinquent” freeloaders, or when he warned that the European Union was a “foe” in trade. Each line was ridiculed, painted as reckless exaggeration. And yet, time and again, those same lines revealed uncomfortable truths that polite opinion preferred to ignore. Trump’s style makes it easy to dismiss him. But if everything we have seen about Soros is true, his words deserve more than a shrug.

Can Trump force Nato to get tough on Russian sanctions?

The pipelines would be sealed off. The supertankers would be left in the ports, and the wells would have to be capped. When Russia invaded Ukraine three years ago, it was confidently assumed that sanctions on Moscow’s oil and gas industry would be so punishing for its fragile economy that it would quickly force Vladimir Putin to plead for a settlement. Unfortunately, it has not worked out like that. Instead, the sanctions against Russia have been widely flouted. In response, President Trump has demaned that Nato makes them stick. But would sanctions really work and cripple Putin’s war machine?

TERRAZZANO: Carney must can the ban on gas and diesel vehicles

When your puppy makes a mess on the carpet, you don’t sit around for 60 days consulting. It’s a rapid reaction situation.

Remove the “deposit.” Apply soapy water. Move on and play fetch.

There are parallels between politics and puppies.

Former prime minister Justin Trudeau left a huge mess for Prime Minister Mark Carney to clean up.

Australia’s Fantasy of Social Cohesion

In accordance with a policy of purported social cohesion and ostensibly to prevent “Islamophobia,” Australia’s Labor Party government, primarily represented by Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, perturbingly appear to be minimizing the malignant, often violent Jew-hatred now occurring in the major cities of Australia.

While many acts of terror are being perpetrated against the Jewish community (here and here), the Australian government has been fast-tracking hundreds of potentially dangerous Palestinians into the country as refugees without proper vetting.
