Michael Higgins: More grave claims, but still no shovels

It is unfortunate that First Nations are reluctant, or unable, to provide precise details in these cases, since they almost certainly warrant some kind of criminal investigation

Here we go again. More announcements that “graves” have been found at former Indian Residential Schools, more flags lowered in mourning and more uncritical press coverage.

And yet times have changed. There is less news coverage of these events, there’s no federal flags flying at half-staff and there appears to be a marked lack of national angst.

With “Progressivism First,” the ADL shows its true colors

The recent decision by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), once seen as a vaunted protector of the American Jewish community, to add “America First” to its Glossary of Extremism and Hate is no mere exercise in sanctimony or virtue signaling.

This unbelievably wrong-headed, ill-considered and insensitive decision sends the worst kind of messages, especially to those with who the American Jewish community is in most need of dialog and mutual understanding: American conservatives, particularly, America First MAGA conservatives.

To the extent that the ADL is still viewed as a proxy for American Jewish sensibilities, this decision must be seen as an angry gauntlet thrown down, whereby Jews are challenging the very legitimacy of a movement that is attracting millions of Americans, particularly young Americans.

The ADL is a left wing hate group, no different than the SPLC.

Canada finally faces a basic question: how do we defend ourselves?

The second Trump administration has been worse than Canada’s worst nightmare. The largest military force in the history of the world, across a largely undefended border, is suddenly under the command of a president who has called for our annexation. Canada could not be less prepared. The possibility of American aggression has been so remote, for so long, that the idea has not been seriously considered in living memory. Donald Trump has focused on economic rather than military pressure, but the new tone in Washington is finally forcing Canada to ask itself the most basic question: how do we defend ourselves?

Dream on.

Military member charged with terrorism warned of ‘another Waco’: court docs

One of the heavily armed Canadian Armed Forces members now charged with terrorism allegedly spoke openly about his will to use violence against government authorities and warned about another Waco massacre, according to recently unsealed court documents.

Last month the RCMP charged four Quebec men, all with military ties, for allegedly planning an ideologically motivated violent plot “intending to forcibly take possession of land in the Quebec City area.”

Is this any more extreme than the “Land Back” crowd?

‘Land Back’ is more than a slogan for a resurgent Indigenous movement

Only 17% Of 25-34-Year-Old Americans Have Attained The 5 Major Milestones Of Adulthood

What I am about to share with you is some of the clearest evidence yet that the middle class in America is being systematically destroyed.  Young adults are forming middle class households at an extremely depressed rate, and that is because the American Dream is simply out of reach for most of them in this very harsh economic environment.  If you can’t get a good job that pays an adequate wage, you aren’t going to be able to live a middle class lifestyle.  Sadly, many older Americans simply do not understand how difficult things have become for our young adults in this day and age.

Why North America’s Drug Decriminalization Experiments Failed: Oregon and British Columbia neglected to coerce addicts into treatment.

Ever since Portugal enacted drug decriminalization in 2001, reformers have argued that North America should follow suit. The Portuguese saw precipitous declines in overdoses and blood-borne infections, they argued, so why not adopt their approach?

But when Oregon and British Columbia decriminalized drugs in the early 2020s, the results were so catastrophic that both jurisdictions quickly reversed course. Why? The reason is simple: American and Canadian policymakers failed to grasp what led to the Portuguese model’s initial success.

The US Government Signs the Death Warrant for Eco-Catastrophism

In an official report dated July 2025, “A Critical Review of Impacts of Greenhouse Gas Emissions on the U.S. Climate,” the U.S. Department of Energy acknowledged a warming trend since the onset of the industrial era. The government conceded that human activity may have contributed to greenhouse gas pollution, yet stresses that, given the scale of natural variations, such attribution remains difficult. The report concluded that the only rational response is adaptation — an approach that presupposes technological progress and the creation of wealth.

Crown to seek adult sentence for Montreal teen alleged to have planned terror attack on behalf of Islamic State

A 17-year-old male facing terrorism charges appeared in youth court Thursday, less than 24 hours after being arrested by 40 RCMP officers at his home in Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

He was flanked by three agents and held behind a barricade inside the courtroom at the Chambre de la jeunesse. He didn’t respond when spoken to and appeared aloof.

Glare from solar farm blinding pilots at Schipol airport

The government has had to pay the solar farm’s owner €7 million to remove panels and coat them with anti-reflective film

Aircraft arriving at one of Europe’s busiest airports are being diverted because of the glare from a nearby solar farm.

Pilots on approach to Schipol, Europe’s fourth biggest airport behind Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Istanbul, have warned of dazzling reflections from 228,000 solar panels installed under runway approach paths.

The problem has meant that the Zwanenburgbaan and Polderbaan runways must be closed during sunny periods, leading to congestion and delays at the airport and extra noise for locals.

#MeToo is Dead! Pregnancy-Faker Case Goes Viral

Scandalous pregnancy-faker Laura Owens isn’t the only Owens in her family with immeasurable levels of audacity.

Ronn Owens, a famous former talk radio host in San Francisco on KGO and father of Laura Owens, has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, listing over $2.3 million in debts. Meanwhile, he and his spouse, journalist Jan Black, pull in $21,000 per month in pensions and Social Security. Somehow, the Owens family ran up more than $300,000 in debt this year alone and then opened a GoFundMe that pulled in over $130,000 from fans — many likely living on fixed incomes as Owens’ fans are mostly senior citizens.
