Comet? UFO? Astronomers puzzle over fastest object in solar system

Just after midnight in a part of Planet Earth known as Massachusetts, a team of scientists who track comets and minor planets in the solar system announced that they had spotted something new: a spark in the southern sky, visible in the data they were getting from a telescope in Chile.

The telescope, high in the Atacama Desert, is tasked with searching for objects that might collide with Earth. “We at the Minor Planet Center have the role to collect the information and also to post it quickly, almost in real time, on our website if the object is somehow interesting,” said Peter Veres, a Harvard astronomer sometimes described as an air-traffic controller for the solar system.

Trump: Joe Biden made it impossible for Ukraine to defeat Russia

President Trump has accused Joe Biden of making it nearly “impossible” for Ukraine to defeat Russia because he restricted Kyiv from launching cross-border strikes.

In a post on Truth Social, the US president accused Biden of not allowing Ukraine to “FIGHT BACK”. Speaking after Russia struck a US electronics company in western Ukraine, Trump promised “interesting times ahead”.

“It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking an invader’s country. It’s like a great team in sports that has a fantastic defense, but is not allowed to play offense,” Trump wrote.

Chow says Toronto will face a $107M shortfall if feds don’t provide more funding for refugee supports

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow is speaking out after recently learning that the federal government plans to only provide a quarter of the funding the city requires to cover the costs of providing interim housing for refugees and asylum seekers.

In a letter addressed to her City Council colleagues, Chow said the feds notified the City of Toronto that they would be paying out only 26 per cent of what Toronto projects to spend on shelter costs for refugees and asylum seekers in 2025.

In the note, Chow suggests that the shortfall amounts to a “cut.”

Jamie Sarkonak: DEI gardening — the new Liberal priority for agriculture

DEI gardening under Mao.

Free money alert: next Monday, the federal agriculture department will begin accepting applications for cash handouts that fund garden boxes, refrigeration units, greenhouses, ATVs, snowmobiles, tractors, hydroponic systems and more. But there’s a catch — anyone who receives these funds must use them to directly support “food production for equity-deserving groups.”

Letting the government decide who eats and who doesn’t always works swell, just ask Mao or Stalin.

Pure evil, as if we’re being conditioned to accept mass murder.
