Las Vegas is hurting as tourism drops. Are Canadians behind the Sin City slump?

After doing gangbuster business in the post-COVID era, Las Vegas is in the midst of a slump, with the number of tourists down sharply as Canadians in particular avoid Sin City amid bilateral bad blood over trade.

The total number of visitors is off more than 11 per cent year-over-year, according to data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, one of the most dramatic declines in recent memory outside of the pandemic.

Airline figures reveal there’s been an even steeper decline among Canadians going to the desert gambling mecca.

No doubt the decline in Canadian visitors has played a part in Vegas’ slide but it’s far from the main reason.

But there are other factors not least of which are price gouging and fees upon fees. No value? No tourists. Easy.

Oh and most of us in the Great White Taxed To Death are watching our pennies.

K loved Vegas. We were married there. Someday I may go back, just to visit the places we missed and promised ourselves we’d see our next trip out.

Network of Turkish smugglers transporting migrants into Quebec, RCMP says

A network of Turkish smugglers has been operating to bring mostly Haitian asylum seekers into Quebec in recent months, police believe.

“For the last five or six months, we’ve had crossings in which Turkish individuals were intercepted or arrested at the border,” RCMP Cpl. Hugo Lavoie told The Gazette Wednesday.

“Why Turkish people? We don’t know.”

Turks and Haitians? More and more I believe Canada is done for and 5th Columnists deserve significant credit.

Stirrings of rebellion in unhappy Britain

I read it right, the first time. An ‘elite police division’ has been assembled by the Home Office to monitor remarks made by social media users on immigration, at a time when the provision of over two hundred hotels for illegal migrants is causing rising tension in communities.

Of course, the Daily Mail article meant specially-skilled officers, but it is also true that the ‘elite’ is being protected. For Britain is not being run for the good of the ordinary people, but for a predatory class that is solidifying its power in an emerging global technocracy.

Is it too late for citizens to resist? Much depends on a minority of dissidents, while the majority of the populace appears docile and blissfully ignorant of the prison being built around them.

Meet the Group Pushing Americans to Support North Korea

Late last month, a coalition of pro–North Korean activists gathered in New York City. Ostensibly there to defend “Korean independence,” their real purpose was to spread anti-American propaganda and justify the crimes of Pyongyang and other totalitarian regimes.

Nodutdol, an effectively pro-North Korean group, co-hosted the People’s Summit for Korea from July 25 through 27. The event featured professional activists, academics, government officials, and longtime radicals with decades of involvement in left-wing politics. Also present were a stable of revolutionary leftist groups, including the People’s Forum, ANSWER Coalition, the United National Antiwar Coalition, and more.

Once again Canada was ahead of the curve! From way back in 2012.

Poor UBC Is So Ronery! They’re Under Attack From Evil Right Wing Blogger Blazingcatfur!

Last year I wrote about UBC’s dalliance with the prison nation North Korea. It’s an unseemly effort spearheaded by Professor Kyung-Ae Park & Professor Paul Evans both of whom contribute to the North Korean propaganda site CanKor, which in OJ like fashion, promises to find the real truth about their beloved socialist paradise. Others have also questioned UBC’s association with the murderous North Korean regime, so I don’t think it’s just me.

MANDEL: Why was alleged dangerous driver still behind the wheel?

Jaiwin Kirubananthan – no pic of the evil bastard

Surely, they won’t again release an accused dangerous driver now facing new charges of killing a father of three.

A bail hearing was held in Oshawa Wednesday for 18-year-old Jaiwin Kirubananthan, who was arrested Aug. 3 after a head-on collision, on Hwy. 48 in Whitchurch-Stouffville, that killed Andrew Cristillo and injured his three daughters. The OPP said the driver fled the scene but was found and arrested a short time later.

Another Al-Jazeera Reporter Was a Hamas Terrorist; Al-Jazeera Should Be Designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization

Anas al-Sharif, the Palestinian “journalist” who was killed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) this week, never concealed his affiliation with the Iran-backed Hamas terror group. Before and after his death, photos of al-Sharif continually socializing with top Hamas leaders appeared on social media platforms. Al-Sharif was also known for his public support for terrorism against Israel.

The television network al-Sharif worked for, Al-Jazeera (Arabic), has always served as the official mouthpiece of the Muslim Brotherhood organization and its affiliates, including Hamas.

Can’t pay, won’t pay: impoverished streaming services are driving viewers back to piracy

As subscription costs rise and choice diminishes on legal sites, film and TV fans are turning to VPNs and illicit streamers, with Sweden – home of both Spotify and The Pirate Bay – leading the way

With a trip to Florence booked, all I want is to rewatch Medici. The 2016 historical drama series tells of the rise of the powerful Florentine banking dynasty, and with it, the story of the Renaissance. Until recently, I could simply have gone to Netflix and found it there, alongside a wide array of award-winning and obscure titles. But when I Google the show in 2025, the Netflix link only takes me to a blank page. I don’t see it on HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, or any of the smaller streaming platforms. On Amazon Prime I am required to buy each of the three seasons or 24 episodes separately, whereupon they would be stored in a library subject to overnight deletion. Raised in the land of The Pirate Bay, the Swedish torrent index, I feel, for the first time in a decade, a nostalgia for the high seas of digital piracy. And I am not alone.

Liverpool parade accused faces 24 new charges

A man accused of deliberately driving into a crowd of fans at Liverpool’s Premier League victory parade has been charged with 24 new offences, including attempted grievous bodily harm against two babies.

Paul Doyle, 53, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court over video-link from prison and became tearful as he was asked to confirm his identity.

He was due to enter pleas to the seven counts he originally faced over the incident in May, but the court heard prosecutors had introduced 24 new counts to the indictment.

Canada’s laws ‘outdated and inadequate’ to fight cross-border crime, head of police chiefs group says

VICTORIA — The head of the Canada’s police chiefs association says they are guided by “outdated and inadequate” laws that were never designed to take on the current criminal landscape that no longer respects international borders.

Thomas Carrique, president of the Association of Chiefs of Police, said police would have been in a better place to “disrupt” transnational crime, if the federal government had listened to his group in 2001, when it last proposed legislative changes.

There Aren’t Enough Shells on the Beach to Hide James Comey’s Blackmail Treachery Against Trump

Those of us who aren’t “today years old” have always believed there was a much darker, ulterior motive for James Comey showing President-Elect Donald Trump information from the preposterous Steele dossier. It’s true that Comey wanted to give CNN an excuse to break the made-up Russiagate story he leaked to reporters. That was treacherous enough.
