‘Disruptive’ man challenges Poilievre’s promise to ‘put an end to antisemitic riots’ in Canada

A man interrupted a question-and-answer session with Pierre Poilievre on Monday, pressing the Conservative leader to provide specific examples of antisemitic riots in Canada. The man added that he knows of none since 1933.

During a campaign event at the Canadian Association of Retired Persons’ Toronto headquarters, Poilievre promised to “put an end to these raging, antisemitic riots in our streets.” He also reiterated an earlier campaign promise to deport any foreigners in Canada on temporary visas who “terrorize our Jewish community.”

While the Hamas rallies in our streets are driven primarily by the Muslim death cult they do have their useful idiot infidel allies.

Still it would be nice to hear a politician call for a halt to Islamist immigration.

Islam is an ugly stain on our politics.

Films made with AI can win Oscars, the Academy rules

Films made using AI will be eligible to win awards at the Oscars, according to new rules from its organisers.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this week that the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking would “neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination”.

The decision was recommended by the Academy’s Science and Technology Council.

This election was supposed to be about restoring hope for young Canadians. What happened?

This is what Carney and his predator pal Wiseman have in store for you.

Fairness for every generation: That was the name of the game a year ago, when the federal Liberal government was trying to recapture the support of young Canadians increasingly flocking to the Conservatives.

The finance minister at the time, Chrystia Freeland, presented a federal budget named exactly that and gave a forceful speech defending her party’s proposed – and now abandoned – capital-gains tax hike.

“Do you want to live in a country where the only young Canadians who can buy their own homes are those with parents who can help with the down payment?” Ms. Freeland said.

US companies avoid hiring white men as part of diversity push

Now showing more anti white bullshit

Hundreds of companies are deliberately shunning white men for jobs amid pressure to make workplaces more diverse, a survey has found.

A poll of 1,216 of American businesses with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies found that one in 10 avoid hiring white men altogether and six in 10 human resource (HR) managers put diversity over qualifications when selecting candidates.

The study, conducted by website Resume Builder, also found that one in three HR managers believe that “reverse discrimination” occurs because of DEI policies. Three-quarters suspect that these policies were introduced “in part for appearances”.

Offer fake ‘academic refugees’ from U.S. a safe haven in Canada, profs urge party leaders

Hundreds of professors are asking Canadian federal party leaders to provide a safe sanctuary for “academic refugees” and safeguard freedoms, as American universities face mounting pressure from the United States government.

An open letter signed by more than 500 faculty members calls President Donald Trump’s attacks on U.S. schools a “crisis” that also affects Canadian education, research and funding.

The authors say the first priority for the next government should be to fix what they describe as chronic underfunding in the higher education system.

Because what we need is even more useless gender studies profs.

$1 Trillion of Wealth Was Created for the 19 Richest U.S. Households Last Year

The wealthiest have gotten richer, and control a record share of America’s wealth. New data suggest $1 trillion of wealth was created for the 19 richest American households alone in 2024. That’s more than the value of Switzerland’s entire economy.

It took four decades for the top 0.00001% of Americans’ share of total U.S. household wealth to grow from 0.1% in 1982—when 11 households made up that rarefied group—to 1.2% in 2023, according to an analysis by Gabriel Zucman, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Paris School of Economics.

In one year, by the end of 2024, the share of total U.S. household wealth for the modern 0.00001%—those 19 households—jumped to 1.8%, or about $2.6 trillion. That is the biggest one-year increase on record, according to Zucman.

Tasha Kheiriddin: Poilievre’s platform a direct challenge to Carney’s boomer tome

With just days to go before election day and millions of Canadians already having voted, both the Liberal and Conservative parties have finally dropped their full platforms. And the two are as different in substance, structure and style as the two campaigns — for better and worse.

Substance-wise, the Liberals offer a slew of big-ticket items: a $5 billion Trade Diversification Corridors Fund, billions for Arctic sovereignty, major housing and health infrastructure, and — refreshingly — a serious uptick in defence spending to exceed current NATO commitments. They also promise to drop the deficit in the “operating budget” to $220 million by 2028-2029 (more on that math later).

Mob that lynched Briton in Ecuador ‘too much for police to handle’

Ecuadorian police said “everything humanly possible” was done to prevent a British man from being lynched and burnt alive by a village mob in the Amazon rainforest.

The Playas del Cuyabeno police claimed that “the mob exceeded the capacity of seven police officers” tasked with protecting the visitor, who was believed to have moved from the UK and was killed in a revenge attack on Sunday.

The man, who has not been officially identified, was being held in a police station in the Sucumbios province of Ecuador on suspicion of shooting dead a man named locally as Rodrigo Chavez.

Here’s the Status of Major EV Battery Plants and Projects in Canada

Electric vehicles were considered the way of the future just five short years ago. Today, the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and EV battery plants is waning both in Canada and globally due to a wide range of factors.

Some of the issues cited in consumer surveys on purchasing EVs include the substantial cost disparity between EVs and gas-powered vehicles, worries about their driving range, reliability in cold weather, and the availability of charging facilities. Along with the repercussions of increased interest rates and inflation, all these factors have played a role in shaping consumer behaviour since 2020.
