Canadians ridicule Trudeau gov’t after ‘renewable’ energy failure nearly ends in catastrophe

An extreme cold snap which led to near minus 50 degrees Celsius (58 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures in much of Western Canada over the weekend, and nearly caused one province’s power grid to collapse due to a failure of wind and solar power, saw many call out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government’s green energy agenda which is looking to phase out carbon-based power in favor of “renewables.”

Israeli father says Hamas tried to sell his son’s decapitated head for $10,000

A fallen Israeli soldier’s father claimed that after his 19-year-old son was killed, Hamas terrorists tried to sell his decapitated head for $10,000 in Gaza.

David Tahar, father of former Israel Defense Forces Sgt. Adir Tahar, said Hamas abused the body of his son after he was killed during the terrorists’ Oct. 7 surprise attack on Israel.

Trudeau pushes back after Netanyahu again rejects two-state solution

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s position on Palestinian statehood after the Israeli prime minister claimed in a nationally-televised news conference that the so-called “two-state solution” is dead.

“I was not surprised to hear Prime Minister Netanyahu share that. That has long been his position,” Trudeau said Thursday when asked about the comments at a press conference in Iqaluit.

“He and I had, just a few weeks ago, an extensive conversation on exactly this topic and others

I doubt Netanyahu thinks about Junior at all.

Eritrea’s strife goes global as diasporas, including those in Canada, clash at cultural festivals

From Toronto and Calgary to Melbourne and London, Eritrean events have seen sometimes violent fights between a repressive regime’s supporters and its opponents

On a freezing morning in Toronto this winter, dozens of Eritrean-Canadians gathered on a plaza in front of City Hall, waving Eritrean flags as they braved the sub-zero temperatures in a bid to save their annual festival.

Passersby might have been puzzled by their pleas for constitutional freedoms and police protection. But it was the latest chapter in a global struggle between rival Eritrean factions – and another sign of how diaspora groups in Canada and elsewhere are becoming the new battleground for the tensions in their home countries.

Nova Scotia man charged with igniting massive Barrington Lake wildfire

HALIFAX – A 22-year-old Nova Scotia man has been charged with allegedly lighting a fire last May that grew to become one of the largest wildfires in the province’s history.

The Barrington Lake fire southwest of Shelburne, N.S., was ignited on May 26, 2023, and burned 23,000 hectares before it was brought under control on June 13 and extinguished more than a month later amid heavy rain. The fire forced the evacuation of more than 6,000 people and destroyed 60 homes and cottages, as well as 150 other structures.

Region on Fire: President Biden Sits on Sidelines as Pakistan Attacks Iran

The White House is largely silent as war in the Middle East threatens to engulf the entire region.

Pakistan’s air force launched retaliatory airstrikes against Iran Thursday morning with the aim of taking out militant hideouts, in an attack that killed at least seven persons and sent tensions between the neighboring nations soaring.

The strikes in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province followed Tuesday’s Iranian attack on Pakistan that killed two children in the southwestern Baluchistan province. The attacks Tuesday and Thursday appeared to target separate Baluch militant groups that the two countries say find safe havens in the other. Earlier in the week, Iran also attacked sites in its old foe, Iraq.

Argentinian prez Javier Milei scolds Davos elites with common sense

A wise old friend once said to me that if Christianity died out, what would come next would not be atheism but polytheism.

That is, instead of worshipping one God, people would start worshipping a whole range of gods.

I thought of that yesterday while watching a Brazilian shaman called Putanny Yawanawa performing a native spiritual ceremony onstage at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

America is seeing a tiny civil war in Texas

Pundits these days often warn that America may be on the brink of civil war. Finally, they’re right – except that in tiny Eagle Pass, Texas, forget being on the brink. In microcosm, civil war is already under way.

Once again playing immigration hardball, last week the Texas governor Greg Abbott, the vile, heartless Republican whose voodoo doll progressive Democrats poke pins in, sent the Texas National Guard to assume control of an Eagle Pass park used to process migrants and additional lands along the Mexican border. In so doing, the state militia is actively blocking the US Border Patrol from policing several miles along the banks of the Rio Grande. The intention, according to the Texas Military Department, is to block ‘organisations that perpetuate illegal immigrant crossings’. Those organisations would seem to include the federal government.

If You Say Men Give Birth, We Know Your Position on Hamas

People who say that men give birth also say that Israel is the villain because these positions emanate from the same aim: the destruction of Western civilization.

If you say “men give birth,” we all know your position on Hamas.

Now, why is that? Why, if a person says “men give birth” or says that men who say they are women should be allowed to compete in women’s sports, can we be virtually certain that the person sides with Hamas in its war to eradicate Israel?

Theoretically, the two claims—that men as well as women give birth and that Israel is the villain in its war against Hamas—have absolutely no connection.

That nappy-obsessed weirdo is not a woman

‘Abbie Taylor’, formerly Martin Tarling, is the latest in a long line of male ne’er do wells to be described by the news media as a ‘woman’.

A post by Sky News did the rounds on X this week, describing Taylor’s case. ‘A woman accused of dumping soiled adult nappies at children’s nurseries has denied the offences’, it read. But the truth of the story could be seen in the attached image of Taylor, which showed a middle-aged man with a face full of stubble and long, pink hair.

Netanyahu says he has told US he opposes Palestinian state in any postwar scenario

JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday rejected U.S. calls to scale back Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip or take steps toward the establishment of a Palestinian state after the war, drawing an immediate scolding from the White House.

The tense back and forth reflected what has become a wide rift between the two allies over the scope of Israel’s war and its plans for the future of the beleaguered territory.

“We obviously see it differently,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby said.

Aliens are among us

Governments don’t want us to believe there’s something out there

In 1950, Enrico Fermi, the man who built the first nuclear reactor, was having lunch with some other scientists when the discussion turned to aliens – and he first articulated what’s become known as “the Fermi paradox” by asking: “Where is everybody?”

In other words: the universe has been around for some time, and is a very big place. Human life has only existed for a fraction of that time, and only on one planet. Given the vastness of time and space, then, it seems more than likely that we’re not the only intelligent beings in the universe. So why haven’t we found any evidence of others? This question has led some to conclude that extra-terrestrial intelligent life doesn’t exist, and others to speculate — as in the long-running sci-fi show The X Files — that aliens do exist, but that their existence is covered up by mysterious government agencies.

Trudeau is incompetent on all fronts: immigration, housing and internationally

This is unprecedented: last weekend, the Minister of Immigration, Marc Miller, lamented the poor performance of his own government in matters of… immigration.

“Out of control”, “disconcerting”, the minister used adjectives giving the impression that he was a member of the opposition holding the government to account.

Around a hundred thousand temporary residents enter Canada EVERY MONTH (!). These temporary residents include students, temporary foreign workers and asylum seekers.

Regular immigrants represented some 1.2 million people in 2022.

However, we still do not know how to decently house all these new arrivals.

However, we are talking about more than two million people per year, all categories combined.

I am personally in favor of immigration, but everything must be planned and well managed, otherwise chaos sets in and that is precisely what we are experiencing.

Two years ago, senior public administration in Ottawa warned Trudeau of the enormous housing shortage that awaited us if nothing changed.

So what is happening was not only predictable, it was planned!

The scandal is that Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government has done absolutely nothing, despite warnings from its officials.
