Britain must stand up against those who support Hamas

It was 7 a.m. when the ‘peace rave’ outside of Re’im was reaching its peak. Outside the kibbutz, five miles from the Gaza border, the participants of the dance festival were ‘coming up’ at just the moment that the terrorists of Hamas started to come down.

They arrived on motorised paragliders, with machine-guns in position, like something from Mad Max. They came by motorbike and in trucks bearing the marks of Hamas. Rockets had already started firing across Israel from Gaza, but here the twenty- and thirty-something rave attendees were soon running in every direction across the Negev desert – hunted down. At the time of writing, 260 bodies have been recovered from the site. This is just one of the many simultaneous massacres across Israel in the areas nearest to Gaza. It is Israel’s worst security breach for 50 years, and the biggest hit to the perception of Israeli invulnerability in two generations.

Sam Bankman-Fried’s Closest Friends Become His Foes in Courtroom Clash

When Sam Bankman-Fried’s cryptocurrency exchange collapsed in November, one of his oldest friends sent him a message of support.

“I love you, Sam,” said Adam Yedidia, a college classmate of Mr. Bankman-Fried’s who went on to work for him at the exchange, FTX. “I am not going anywhere. Don’t worry.”

Within days, Mr. Yedidia had resigned from FTX. And last week, at Mr. Bankman-Fried’s fraud trial in federal court in Manhattan, Mr. Yedidia showed up to testify for the prosecution, and recounted the conversation to the jury.

ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt Must Go

Over three years ago, I started writing articles about the evils of BLM, which has always been committed to the destruction of Israel, even having it as part of their manifesto. I was castigated by other rabbis and Jewish leaders, who were adamant that BLM wasn’t really anti-Semitic. Reform and Conservative Rabbis touted BLM, and raised hundreds of millions of dollars for this corrupt and evil organization, most of which ended up in the pockets of its leaders. Not one of those leaders has now admitted they were wrong to ever support BLM, even as they now are starting to finally condemn it.

East and West Both Contributed to the Rise of Hamas

Iran, Turkey, Qatar, the European Union, and the United States—some of them have been probable, others possible contributors to the strengthening of Hamas, a democratically elected Palestinian political party, and—at the same time—a terrorist organisation that has vowed to annihilate Israel.

After Hamas launched its all-out attack against Israel on Saturday, October 7th, analysts were bewildered at how a group that had in previous years only been able to launch badly built rockets into Israeli territories, harming hardly anyone, was able to carry out such a massacre.

Hamas and Iran: Slaughtering Jews for Decades

Hamas’s October 7 war on Israel did not surprise those who have been following the actions of Iran and its regime-backed Islamist terror group since it was founded in late 1987.

Since then, Hamas, with Iran’s help — Hamas does not have a productive economy in Gaza — has carried out countless terrorist attacks, killing and wounding thousands of Jews by suicide bombings, shootings, stabbings and car-rammings, as well by firing tens of thousands of rockets into Israel, a country the size of New Jersey (roughly 22,000 km2).

Morris dancers drop ‘men’ from name to be trans inclusive … but still exclude women

Morris Dancers – Now Trans-Inclusive

Brighton’s male Morris dancers have dropped the word ‘‘men’’ from their decades-old name to avoid offending trans and non-binary people.

The troupe is changing its name from Brighton Morris Men to Brighton Morris in order to attract anyone who presents as male, including biological females.

Women, for whom there is a separate dance group called Cuckoo’s Nest Morris, will still not be allowed to join the ranks of the renamed men’s side.

Crown to call Ottawa residents in convoy trial

Crown lawyers intend on calling Ottawa residents impacted by what became known as the Freedom Convoy to testify in the criminal trial of two of the protest’s organizers, after the court ruled it would permit their testimony.

Residents are expected to start testifying Thursday morning.

Justice Heather Perkins-McVey ruled Wednesday that residents and business owners can testify in the trial of Tamara Lich and Chris Barber, who are charged with mischief, counselling others to commit mischief, intimidation and obstructing police for their role in the weeks-long protest in January and February of 2022.

How Israel Got Ambushed

The country’s world-famous defenses failed on four levels. The worst was underestimating the enemy.

Since 2011, Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome has saved countless lives and made its citizens feel safe under its security blanket. But that feeling of security was shattered on Saturday, when close to 1,000 Hamas fighters, armed to the teeth with assault rifles, explosive devices, and RPGs, penetrated Israel in a surprise ground attack that breached multiple border defenses. Now, as this piece is going to press, Hezbollah in Lebanon is attacking Israel from the north.

Canadians say Pierre Poilievre would handle Donald Trump better than Justin Trudeau, poll finds

OTTAWA—Canadians think Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre would handle another Donald Trump U.S. presidency better than Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a new poll suggests.

Thirty-seven per cent of respondents to the latest national survey from Abacus Data for the Star said Poilievre would be better able to deal with Trump — if he won the U.S. presidential election in 2024 — than Trudeau.

Only 28 per cent said Trudeau would handle a Trump White House better, while 31 per cent said they didn’t know.

Israel girds for long war as death toll since Hamas terror onslaught passes 1,300

The Israel Defense forces stepped up preparations Thursday for a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip to destroy the terror group as the death toll from Hamas’s massive onslaught passed 1,300. The military also said there were signs that Hamas was preparing for an extended conflict with Israel.

Israel is six days into a war with Hamas following the Palestinian terror group’s shock assault on Israeli communities in an early morning raid on Saturday. Over 1,300 people — most of them civilians — were killed, according to the latest toll, more than 3,300 injured, and an estimated 200 were captured and taken to the Gaza Strip. Their fate is not yet known.

As the slow, tortuous process of identifying bodies continues, funeral after funeral is being held across Israel for soldiers and civilians as the country reels from the mass infiltration and massacres of men, women, children, elderly people and hundreds of young partygoers at a music festival.

Jagmeet Singh’s NDP are taking votes away from Justin Trudeau — but are losing some support to Pierre Poilievre, poll finds

OTTAWA — When New Democrats convene in Hamilton this week for their national policy convention, party faithful will be marking a bevy of firsts.

It’s the first time party delegates will gather under one roof since the NDP’s 2018 convention, after the COVID-19 pandemic reduced the party’s 2021 affair to a virtual format beset by technical glitches.

It’s the first time grassroots members will make their feelings known about Leader Jagmeet Singh since his deal with the Trudeau government, which could see the NDP prop up the slumping Liberals for nearly two more years.

Photos of babies being burnt, decapitated confirmed

The Jerusalem Post can now confirm based on verified photos of the bodies that the reports of babies being burnt and decapitated in Hamas’s assault on Kfar Aza are correct. May their memory be a blessing.

The photos were shown to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his visit to Israel on Thursday by the Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office. Later in the day, the photos were published by the Prime Minister’s Office on Twitter. The photos are graphic and have a content warning covering them until a button reading “show” is pressed.
