The ugly truth about the Peckham shop scuffle

Rye Lane in south London’s Peckham is a lively place day and night, but yesterday evening the atmosphere was distinctly ugly. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside a store to protest about a shopkeeper’s treatment of a customer, who was accused of theft. A viral video, filmed inside Peckham Hair and Cosmetics on Monday, shows why they are angry: a black woman is seen being manhandled by an Asian employee.

The incident …

In a few months, New York will celebrate the anniversary of its great experiment with drugs. It’s been almost two years since the city became the first in the United States to open two “supervised consumption sites,” facilities where people can consume controlled substances under the supervision of staff armed with overdose-reversing drugs. Biden impeachment inquiry: What we know about the case

Senior Republican Kevin McCarthy has announced a formal impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden claiming they have unearthed a “culture of corruption” surrounding the president.

The inquiry will focus on accusations of improper business dealings on the part of the president’s son, Hunter Biden, and on whether the president benefited from his son’s business dealings.

Months of Republican investigations, however, have yet to unearth any concrete evidence of misconduct by Mr Biden, and the allegations have been widely panned by Democrats.

How the Biden Administration Is Trying to Bribe the Palestinians

Joe Biden – He ain’t in charge of anything except Window Licking

Palestinian leaders owe an apology to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, the two Arab countries that signed peace treaties with Israel three years ago. Then, the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership strongly condemned the UAE and Bahrain and accused them of “betraying” the Palestinian people. The Palestinians even recalled their ambassadors to the two countries and held a series of demonstrations to protest the peace accords.

Now, however, Palestinian leaders seem to have a different view on a possible normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Long hair, signing bonuses and ‘try before you buy’: How Canada’s military is responding to a staffing crisis

Anton Parker followed in his grandfather’s footsteps with a career in the Royal Canadian Navy.

With the longest hair of his life, complemented with a handlebar mustache and mutton chop sideburns, his grandfather might not even recognize him as a military sailor.

“The military should strive for discipline and uniformity,” Parker said while on board HMCS Vancouver, a frigate deployed in the Indo-Pacific region. “But there’s a need in the modern world for people to express individuality. The navy is trying to strike that balance.”

No new money for asylum seekers in Toronto after Chow meets with federal Immigration Minister

… “Toronto has time and time again begged for some crumbs,” Chow said. “I met with the minister, I pled my case about refugees and they’re thinking about it.”

Miller pointed out Tuesday the absence of the Ford government at the meeting, adding that the province has a role to play as well.

“They’re sitting on billions of dollars, that is just a fact, and they can certainly deploy that to the city of Toronto and the surrounding areas,” the minister said

Michael Taube: After the Latest Michael Chong Revelations, Will Ottawa Take Action Against Beijing?

There’s a new revelation in Conservative MP Michael Chong’s ongoing saga with China. Maybe it will finally lead the federal government to take action against this communist regime.

In early May, Globe and Mail investigative journalists Robert Fife and Steven Chase published contents of an eyebrow-raising July 20, 2021, Canadian Security Intelligence Service report. It revealed that Canada was regarded as a “high-priority target” by China, which had used “incentives and punishment” to gain an advantage that was “expected to continue and increase over time.” CSIS also mentioned that a Ministry of State Security officer had attempted to obtain information about an MP’s relatives “who may be located in the PRC, for further potential sanctions.” This strategy was “almost certainly meant to make an example of this MP and deter others from taking anti-PRC positions.”

Justin Trudeau’s luck appears to be running out

Pierre Poilievre kicked off the weekend Friday night being hailed as a future prime minister by the Conservative faithful at the party’s convention in Quebec City and Justin Trudeau ended it stranded in New Delhi by a broken-down plane.

It was a September capper to a woeful summer for the Prime Minister. At this moment, it feels like Mr. Trudeau’s luck has run out. Except for the bad luck.

‘When you talk about UFOs, you’re no longer the elephant in the room’

The woman with the cornflower-blue highlights and crocheted shawl didn’t look as if she might have had an alien implant stuck inside her since 2007.

But then, I suppose that’s exactly what the aliens would want us to believe. And as I will be told more than once during my weekend at Awakening UFO & Conscious Life Expo: to outmanoeuvre the aliens, we need to think like the aliens.

Matthew Lau: The NDP is always wrong: That’s almost impressive

Pierre Poilievre spent last weekend at the Conservative convention offering Canadians hope for a better and more affordable country after Justin Trudeau’s time as prime minister ends. Meanwhile, Trudeau’s Liberals are taking a well-deserved public opinion thrashing — the inevitable backlash against their failed policies and unwavering insistence that the miserable outcomes they have produced are in fact splendid results. The Liberal caucus is said to be frustrated, discouraged, angry and disillusioned.
