Australian cops accused of falsely identifying as non-binary to get higher clothing allowance

Police officers in Australia have been accused of falsely registering as non-binary as part of a scheme to claim a higher clothing allowance from their department.

At least 17 officers from the Victoria Police have been interviewed in the force’s investigation of the alleged scheme, according to the Herald Sun, which was first brought to light on social media in June.

Alleged mass grave of indigenous children at Catholic schools across Canada contains NO BODIES, excavation shows – as experts suggest it’s proof the stories were fabricated

Doubts are growing about the scale of historic abuse at Canada’s notorious residential schools for indigenous children after a dig at one of the country’s most high-profile sites uncovered no bodies.

The country has set aside billions of dollars in compensation and declared a ‘cultural genocide’ in the treatment of indigenous children who were taken away from their families and placed at the schools for much of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Teams using ground-penetrating radar claim to have found mass graves in the last two years containing the remains of more than 1,000 children who were buried in secret.

This is the only sort of international coverage the Trudeau government can generate any longer, national embarrassment 24/7.

Cigar smoked by Churchill 60 years ago bought at auction

A Belgian has bought a cigar that was smoked and stubbed out by Sir Winston Churchill 60 years ago, which still has the wartime prime minister’s teeth marks.

Gert Schrijvers, an internationally renowned violin-maker, bought the Romeo y Julieta cigar, complete with certificates proving provenance, at the Catherine Southon auction house in the UK.

Conservatives maintain months-long lead over Liberals, as Canadians’ economic anxiety rises: Nanos

The Conservatives are solidifying their lead over the Liberals, while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre are neck-and-neck for preferred prime minister, according to weekly tracking from Nanos Research.

The latest Nanos numbers show the Conservatives ahead of the Liberals with 33.1 per cent and 29.7 per cent respectively. The NDP are at 21.7 per cent.

I do not trust NANOS.

Bomb squad experts were called in after Sweden was rocked by four explosions in just over an hour amid a surge in gang-related violence.

At just after 1.00am local time (2300 GMT), police in Gothenburg received reports of two explosions at addresses 10 minutes apart.

William Watson: One way Ottawa could save money — posture less about U.S. politics

The federal government has set itself the task of finding $15 billion in savings over the next five years, though there’s some debate over whether the savings to be generated have or have not already been spent. The finance minister (Chrystia Freeland) seems to think so. The president of the Treasury Board (Anita Anand) seems to suggest not. If the money has already been spent, that obviously lends urgency to actually finding it.

U.S. politicians want to hear from MP Michael Chong on threats from China

MP Michael Chong is about to appear in a unique locale for a Canadian Opposition politician: a hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington.

American lawmakers studying foreign interference by China have taken an interest in Chong’s case and invited him to testify. He has agreed to appear before the congressional-executive commission on China on Sept. 12.

Members of the commission reached out to the Ontario Conservative after reading media reports about his family being targeted by Beijing.

I hope he names the LPC as an arm of the ChiComs.

UK: Electronic Tagging of Migrants Not Ruled Out

Home Secretary Suella Braverman has refused to rule out fitting illegal migrants with electronic and GPS tags.

Her department is reportedly mulling the idea as a way to ensure that migrants awaiting asylum decisions—and who cannot be housed in the network of immigration detention centers around the country—do not pick up and leave unmonitored.

Anti-White Racism and the Maui Fires

“No white man is ever going to live here.”

When Christopher Kunzelman’s wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he asked her where she wanted to spend the last days of her life.

She chose Maui.

Kunzelman came from Scottsboro, Arizona, bought a house and prepared to move his family in, but he soon learned that he did not belong there. Locals warned him “this is a Hawaiian village. The only thing coming from the outside is the electricity,” and “you don’t even belong in Hawaii.”

Tucker Carlson promises to ‘out’ the media for not outing Obama

There was a flurry of headlines when it emerged recently that Barack Obama had admitted to gay fantasies. However, back in 2008, there were no headlines at all when Larry Sinclair announced that he’d had gay sex with Obama while the latter sucked in some crack cocaine. The real story here is the media’s silence in the face of something incredibly newsworthy—and Tucker Carlson, in addition to an almost throwaway line on Adam Corolla’s podcast, appears poised to use his enormous reach to expose that unethical, partisan silence.

The painful demise of late-night comedy

I’m old enough to remember the golden age of American late-night comedy. No, not the Johnny Carson days, but during the years of the George W Bush administration. The patently misconceived 2003 Iraq War and the inept speaking style of Dubya were great fodder for hosts like Jon Stewart and his sidekick, Stephen Colbert. They did hilarious skits on The Daily Show poking fun at the pompous, self-serious media establishment, while cleverly pointing to the obvious lies of the government.

Is YouTube Worse than TikTok?

With all the focus on TikTok, an undoubtedly dangerous app, it’s easy to forget that other problematic apps and social media platforms exist. Take YouTube, for example. On close inspection, YouTube actually appears to be worse than TikTok.

One-third of the world’s population uses YouTube, the most popular streaming platform in the world. According to researchers from the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP), frequent users of YouTube report higher levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness than those who rarely or never use the popular platform. The researchers Dr. Luke Balcombe and Dr. Diego De Leo found that the most negatively affected individuals were those under the age of 29 years. In the U.S., 96% of Gen Z users (born between 1997 and 2012) have a YouTube account.

Two years for offending Islam. Pakistan? No, Europe.

In Pakistan it is a ten year sentence, so there is still a difference between the West and totally Muslim countries.

The European Court of Human Rights sentenced a woman in Austria because her statements represent “an attack on the Prophet of Islam which could arouse prejudice and threaten religious peace”. In a seminar in 2011, Sabaditsch Wolff , basing her words on Islamic texts, called Mohammed a paedophile because of his marriage to Aisha. An Austrian court convicted her of “denigrating” Islam.

The mystery of the ‘ghost frequency’, the most terrifying sound known to man

Horror films use inaudible ‘infrasound’ effects to induce goosebumps and nausea. But can the so-called ‘fear frequency’ make you see ghosts?

In the early 1980s, Vic Tandy was one of a team designing medical equipment in a laboratory at Coventry University. Everybody said that the lab was haunted; it just felt weird in there. That evening, when Tandy was on his own, he felt something very strange.

“I was sweating but cold, and the feeling of depression was noticeable – but there was also something else,” he told the Birmingham Post at the time. Suddenly, he felt like he was being watched. “It was as though something was in the room with me.”

‘How to Serve White Victims’

Oakland, Calif., is plagued by crime—and by a district attorney, Pamela Price, determined to divide people by race.

After “antiracist” consultant Karen Fleshman finished a training in Oakland, Calif., she took to Facebook to express pride in her work: “Great afternoon training Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price’s Victim Services team in ‘How to Serve White Victims.’ Madam DA Pamela Price is my shero [sic] and mentor. She is a lifelong warrior for justice with compassion.” A few days later, Ms. Price thanked Ms. Fleshman for her “wisdom and support.”

But when I started asking questions about the June 26 training, suddenly trainer and trainee didn’t want to talk about it. Ms. Fleshman didn’t respond to my queries. Neither did the head of the district attorney’s Victim Services Division, Kristina Molina. Ms. Price’s press officer, Patti Lee, told me that she deals with the press, whereas I, as a think-tank employee, have a “specific point of view.”
