In Europe’s water wars, super rich play by their own rules

When Ludwig Helm first heard that a villa in his town used 80,000 liters of water a day — 625 times the daily average consumption of a one-person household in Germany — he thought the meter must be defective.

It wasn’t.

The wealthy town of Königstein, which sits on the wooded slopes of the Taunus, a mountain range near Frankfurt in Germany, counts some 98 people with annual incomes above €1 million among its 16,700 residents. Those households are driving water consumption through the roof, flouting restrictions aimed at protecting drinking water supplies as the region grapples with drought.

Water for me …

The ludicrous notion of ‘hate crime’

ONE of the oddest things that has been accepted with little real challenge is the notion that there is such a thing as a ‘hate crime’. Throughout the Western world we have seen legislative changes and judicial advice that embeds the new notion that a crime is particularly heinous if it is motivated by an entirely subjective interpretation of whether it was motivated by ‘hate’ and whether that hate was directed at particular groups. We now have ‘hate crime laws’ on the statute books, in one form or another, of every Western nation.

Meet the white TikTokers who identify as East Asian

Why is transracialism ridiculed while transgenderism is celebrated?

If you’re fortunate enough not to spend all your time doomscrolling on TikTok, you’re unlikely to have heard of ‘RCTA’ or ‘race change to another’. This bizarre new trend isn’t exactly taking the internet by storm, but in recent weeks it has started to draw the attention of mainstream media and is causing woke activists to tie themselves in knots.

Teenage girls have a lot to answer for.

Kazakh Tycoon Linked to Chechen Warlord Who Called for Jihad On America Bought Hunter a Sports Car After Dining With Joe Biden

Can the Biden crime family get any tawdrier? They’re already giving the Clintons a run for their money.

The House Oversight Committee has revealed that in “April, Kenes Rakishev, a Kazakhstani oligarch, wired $142,300 to Rosemont Seneca Bohai. The next day, a payment was made from Rosemont Seneca Bohai for a sportscar for Hunter Biden in the amount of $142,300. Archer and Biden then arranged for Burisma executives to visit Kazakhstan in June 2014 to evaluate a three-way deal among Burisma, a Chinese state-owned company, and the government of Kazakhstan.”

Terry Glavin: The Taliban didn’t win. The civilized world surrendered

The first of Afghanistan’s provincial capitals to fall to the Taliban was the city of Zaranj in the southern deserts of Nimroz, near the border with Iran, on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. The following day in the far northwest, the Talibs roared into Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan, on the border with Turkmenistan.

The next to fall was Sar-e-Pul, then Kunduz, Taloqan and Aybak. Then Kandahar and Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif, then Jalalabad. Only the month before, U.S. president Joe Biden had scoffed at suggestions that his capitulation to the Taliban would echo the humiliating American retreat from Vietnam, with its indelible images of diplomatic staff scrambling into helicopters on the roof of the U.S. embassy in Saigon.

Afghanistan and the Bud light fiasco may have something in common.

The marketing wiz for Bud was comfortably ensconced in Manhattan while her Afghan counterparts were similarly situated in Kabul.

They are the same people, they exist above the hoi polloi whose sole purpose is to be told what to do when they aren’t being ignored.

They had it all figured out until they didn’t.

Family ditches electric truck on drive from Winnipeg to Chicago after charging troubles

The owner of a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat with an extended-range battery regrets buying the electric truck after attempting a road trip, only to abandon it and finish the drive with a gas-powered rental vehicle.

Dalbir Bala of La Salle, Man., left the truck in Minnesota last month after he said he tried unsuccessfully to charge the battery at two different charging stations.

“It was really a nightmare frustration for us,” Bala said.

Wait until the “Rolling Blackouts” caused by load shedding start, then the real fun will set in.

Alberta’s Danielle Smith slams ‘unconstitutional’ net-zero electricity regulations: ‘They will not be implemented in our province’

EDMONTON — The federal government’s newly released electricity regulations sparked criticism out of Alberta, a staunch critic of the Liberal government and one province that could be hard hit by the new targets.

“The draft federal 2035 net-zero power grid regulations are unconstitutional, irresponsible and do not align with Alberta’s emissions reduction and energy development plan that works towards a carbon-neutral power grid by 2050,” Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said in a statement Thursday.

Western decadence – A child who cannot cross the street alone can change his gender

Gender theory has now become dogma, and freedom of thought and expression have diminished.

Take the latest Costa Coffee ad: a trans girl with two scars after mastectomies. After Nike was criticized for hiring transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for its female sports clothes and after the same influencer virtually bankrupted Bud Light (a $395 million loss), many are asking why big companies shove this stuff down our throats. The large US retail company Target, worth 74 billion dollars, markets “gender fluid” mugs, “queer all year” calendars and books for children aged 2 to 8 such as Bye Bye Binary, Pride 1,2,3 and I’m Not a Girl.

And while Lego has just marketed the “transgender bricks”, the American Association of Pediatricians has decided that children can be initiated into sex change.
