Joe Oliver: We are in the grip of climate-change catastrophism

The climate-change movement is a powerful cultural entity. It does not affirm or negate the reality of its core narrative, which is for science to decide. Culture does, however, explain the power and prevalence of the narrative, the political and societal responses to it and the apparent willingness of many people to incur immense cost to avert a supposed existential threat, without proof of either its existence or our ability to alter its impact. In a new book available from the Global Warming Policy Foundation, The Grip of Culture: the Social Psychology of Climate Change Catastrophism, Andy A. West, who works for the Philosophy Foundation in London, provides an academic analysis of the phenomenon. Its lessons have particular relevance to Canada’s climate obsession.

Canada is run by a collective High School mentality with roughly the depth of darling Greta and it most assuredly is not a High School for the gifted.

Toronto Star Gets Moist … Justin Trudeau’s cabinet shuffle reveals his ruthless streak — and that he’s not afraid to bruise egos

Earlier this week, several leading members of Justin Trudeau’s team were asked which of the summer blockbusters they wanted to see first: “Barbie” or “Oppenheimer.”

The prime minister wasn’t one of the respondents to the Politico survey, hunkered down as he was working his own summer blockbuster of sorts — the major cabinet shuffle unveiled on Wednesday.

Idiot housing minister doubles down on mass immigration

Canada’s new housing and infrastructure minister says closing the door to newcomers is not the solution to the country’s housing woes, and has instead endorsed building more homes to accommodate higher immigration flows.

Sean Fraser, who previously served as immigration minister, was sworn in Wednesday morning as part of a Liberal government cabinet shuffle aimed at showcasing a fresh team ahead of the next federal election.

Strong population growth through immigration is adding pressure to housing demand at a time when the country is struggling with an affordability crisis.

Canada’s home building capacity is at it’s limit and no you aren’t going to find enough carpenters to import.

There is no way enough new homes can be built to ward off the coming catastrophe.

The crisis in housing affordabily will have severe and lasting consequences for many families and singles not to mention seniors on fixed incomes.

This assault on our economic security will only get worse and tragically none of it had to happen.

Was there no one in Ottawa able to point out to the idiots that mass immigration is a primary cause of the housing shortage?

That mass immigration is not a magic pill able to solve all problems?

I am convinced they want the homeless crisis.

My Family Was Hunted by Nazis. But I Was Fired After ‘Defending Hitler.

I was just fired from my job at The Seattle Times after defending Hitler. The only problem is, I never defended Hitler. In fact, my family was hunted by the Nazis; my grandfather was a Nazi killer who later almost died in a concentration camp; and some of my best journalistic work has been exposing neo-Nazi lies. But if you want to hear a story about the intolerance in our country’s “most tolerant” city and the erosion of civil discourse in American life, read on.

Birth of a Woke Myth

A new study on mass shootings is a prime example of public health’s growing penchant for policy-based evidence-making.

Is there any limit to the degree to which “researchers” will discredit themselves to prove their woke bona fides? A new study published in JAMA Surgery suggests not.

The study, “Association Between Markers of Structural Racism and Mass Shooting Events in Major US Cities,” purportedly seeks to understand whether evidence exists that “structural racism” plays a role in mass-shooting events.

To test their theory, the researchers quantitatively examine the correlation between mass shootings and “structural racism.” They define mass shootings as any incident in which four or more people are shot, and they define “structural racism” according to various factors, including the percentage of black population in a major metropolitan area, the proportion of children living in a single-parent household, the violent crime rate, and measures of segregation and income inequality.

Disney’s Upcoming Live-Action ‘Snow White’ Is Another Marxist Attack On Western Civilization

Disney’s upcoming live-action adaption of the 1937 film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” made by “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and featuring a non-white Snow White and racially diverse, multi-gendered, size-inclusive dwarfs, is about to be another girl-boss blockbuster committed to dismantling yet another beloved classic tale.

This has mega-flop written all over it.

Ex-Spy Chief: Covid Was ‘Tailored’ to Be ‘Highly Infectious’

The former head of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) is raising the alarm to warn the public that Covid was engineered by scientists in the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) to be “highly infectious.”

‘What Bribery Scheme?!’ The View Plays Dumb Then Defends Biden Corruption

Despite the drip drip drip of revelations that Joe Biden, as vice president, was indeed directly involved in his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings, the Cackling Coven of Disney and ABC’s The View initially played dumb then shifted to defending the alleged actions of Hunter and Joe. The faux conservative on the panel even suggested the “good members” of the Republican conference would “never” want to impeach President Biden and it was a “joke” to do so.

America Is Awash in Critical Minerals, but Regulations and Environmentalists Are Blocking New Mines

As environmentalists and the Biden administration make an all-out push for the adoption of electric vehicles and renewable energy sources, they are facing a quandary: The Green Revolution requires more mineral mining, a practice they have long opposed due to its effects on the environment and Native American lands.

One crucial mineral is lithium. Electric vehicles, solar panels, wind farms, laptop computers, and cellphones are all powered by lithium-ion batteries. Without lithium, you can kiss goodbye California’s plan to transition to all-electric vehicle sales by 2035.
