‘FatCon’ features therapist who blames ‘fatphobia’ on white supremacy

A Philadelphia university is hosting the city’s first “fat people” convention featuring a keynote speaker who blames fatphobia on white supremacy ideals.

FatCon, hailed as a conference “for fat people, by fat people,” will run for two days in October at Temple University, and feature “fat speakers, influencers, performers” as well as some good old-fashioned sex advice.

Keynote speaker Sonalee Rashatwar, widely known as The Fat Sex Therapist, is also known for chalking up fatphobia and fat-shaming to white supremacist beauty ideals, calling it the “social construct” of health, “fat trauma” and the intersection of fat and gender.

Majority of Ontarians think Doug Ford’s decisions benefit ‘friends and supporters,’ poll finds

Premier Doug Ford may be sailing along this summer, but storm clouds are forming for his Progressive Conservatives, a new Abacus Data poll suggests.

While Abacus found Ford’s Progressive Conservatives at 41 per cent support compared to 24 per cent for the leaderless Liberals, 23 per cent for Marit Stiles’s NDP and seven per cent for Mike Schreiner’s Greens, there are ominous signs for the governing party.

The Hunter Biden hearing is a major blow to Democrats — and the media

Both were wrong to downplay the severity of the case

Democrats hoped that a quiet plea agreement would put an end to media coverage of Hunter Biden’s misbehaviour. Instead, court proceedings confirmed Republicans’ claims that the underlying crimes were more extensive — and the deal more favourable — than anyone in the White House and the mainstream press was willing to admit.

Opposition parties say cabinet shuffle is admission Trudeau government ‘broken,’ but doesn’t fix it

Wednesday’s cabinet shuffle proves that the Trudeau Liberals realize they have mishandled key files, in particular housing affordability, said opposition leaders, but they don’t believe the new ministers will change much.

“Justin Trudeau fired a lot of ministers today and admitted that his government is broken, but he didn’t fire the minister of inflation Chrystia Freeland, who weeks after saying that government deficits drive inflation decided to introduce $60 billion more in government deficits,” said Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, speaking in Timmins, Ont.

Trudeau’s immigration scam creating ‘mirage’ of Canadian economic prosperity: economists

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has fueled economic growth and plugged gaps in the labor market by ramping up immigration, but now new arrivals are straining public services and contributing to an overheating economy, economists say.

Since taking power in 2015, Trudeau has brought in an estimated 2.5 million new permanent residents, driving the population above 40 million.

Trudeau is deliberately changing the nations demographic. He hates Canada.

California Uses Temporary Diesel-Powered Electric-Truck Chargers

California drayage trucking companies (which operate in and around ports) are running up against a state-mandated deadline of January 1, 2024, after which any new trucks sold in the state must be zero-emissions. With current technology, that means electric, and the state isn’t ready for more electric trucks.

On July 16, the Wall Street Journal reported that there are fewer than 700 electric-truck chargers at depots in California right now. The state projects it will need 157,000 by 2030.

Sam Bankman-Fried is slapped with a gag order, could be jailed after leaking star prosecution witness Caroline Ellison’s love letters to the New York Times’

Disgraced FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried has been slapped with a gag order preventing him from speaking publicly about his blockbuster trial in October, as prosecutors lobbied a federal judge to jail him until the case is heard.

The 31-year-old former crypto billionaire was back in a Manhattan courthouse Wednesday after allegedly trying to tamper with the testimony of the prosecution’s star witness, his ex-girlfriend and former business partner Caroline Ellison.

Prosecutors alleged that he leaked intimate messages from Ellison to the New York Times to discredit her, because she is expected to testify against him during his trial.

Time To Open the Oppenheimer Files

The most spectacular thing about the movie “Oppenheimer” is that one of the world’s greatest film-makers spent $100 million making his masterpiece and still seems to be in the dark in respect of whether the “father of the A-bomb” was a member of the Communist Party. That, and the shocking decision of President Biden in January to restore the scientist’s security clearance posthumously, suggests it’s time for the government to come clean.

It’s a surprise how much remains classified at various US agencies.

South Africa, willing slave of the New Nazis

SOUTH Africa is falling apart. Crime is accelerating to unimaginable levels. Since January, there have been more than 6,200 murders and 10,500 rapes. Robberies and assaults are at an all-time high.

Many in the country are at risk of starvation, accelerated by the regressive land reforms of the governing African National Congress (ANC) and severe Covid-19 restrictions. Government-sanctioned attacks on white farmers have increased food insecurity, especially for the poorest black South Africans.

A century of ‘Climate Change’

The Washington Post has released a story headlined “Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and Icebergs Melt.”  Highlights of the article include seals finding waters too hot, there is a radical change in climatic conditions, temperatures are rising in the arctic, and glaciers are disappearing.  Same old story, and I do mean an old story — this particular item appeared in 1922.

How the AfD won over Germany

The political mainstream is blind to their allure

To understand how the far-Right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) became Germany’s second-largest party, consider the events of the past five days. In an interview with the state broadcaster ZDF on Sunday, Friedrich Merz, the leader of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), made the mistake of suggesting that he would be willing to work in a coalition with the far-Right party. Less than 24 hours later, after facing a barrage of outrage, he was forced into a humiliating U-turn. This is how Germany’s political class hopes to deal with the rise of the AfD: their political resonance is recognised, but any breaking of the cordon sanitaire around them is regarded as dangerous legitimisation.

Race to salvage sinking cargo ship carrying 3,000 vehicles as it burns out of control in North Sea after fire ’caused by electric car’

The race is on to prevent the sinking of a cargo ship off the Dutch coast which is carrying almost 3,000 vehicles, including 350 Mercedes-Benz, as it burns out of control with an electric car believed to be behind the deadly fire.

At least one crew member died and others were injured after fire ripped through the Fremantle Highway, a 18,500-ton car-carrying vessel. Rescue helicopters and boats evacuated 23 crew members from the Panamanian-registered ship.

Officials have said there are ‘many’ wounded. Some suffered broken bones, burns and breathing problems and were taken to hospitals in the northern Netherlands, emergency officials said.

Sweden is in denial about its gun-crime problem

Our national self-image as a safe, caring country is starting to unravel.

Some years ago, a news report in my local paper in Sweden went viral. Headlined ‘Piece of paper on fire in Nässjö’, it ran as follows: ‘A piece of paper that lay on the ground was burning in central Nässjö last Friday night. Someone had lit the piece of paper and left it on the ground. The burning paper was found and put out by a person living in a house nearby.’

Every Electric Car You Buy Will Fund Al Qaeda

The Taliban recently announced that, “five countries are interested in investing in the lithium mining sector in Afghanistan’s Nuristan province”. A Chinese company has already put down a $10 billion bid that would include infrastructure along with improved roads for the terror group.

Shahabuddin Delawar, the Taliban’s mining boss, boasted that, “we have 2.5 million tons in Nurestan alone. Extract it, and Afghanistan can be one of the richest countries in the world.”

Ex-intel official claims feds ‘absolutely’ have UFOs, materials of ‘non-human’ origin during bombshell hearing

A former Air Force officer and intelligence official told Congress Wednesday he believes the government is hiding captured UFOs — and claimed he could not reveal whether anyone was murdered to keep the secret contained.

David Grusch, a former national reconnaissance officer representative for the Pentagon’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force, made the startling remarks during a bombshell House Oversight subcommittee hearing on UAP — Pentagon jargon for UFOs.
