Muslim Mobs Get a Pass for Assaulting Jews in NYC and LA

Attackers get off with no prison time and anti-bias training.

In May 2021, Joseph Borgen was violently assaulted by a Muslim mob while walking down the street in midtown Manhattan in the vicinity of an anti-Israel rally. The Jewish man was kicked, punched, pepper sprayed, beaten with a metal object, and ended up in the hospital.

Borgen was taunted as a “dirty Jew” and the assault was caught on video. “They were kicking me in my ribs, my stomach,” he described.

Canada’s ‘Islamophobia’ Witch Hunt Will Soon Come to an End

A coalition of liberal politicians and Muslim activists who ginned-up an accusation of “Islamophobia” to end the career of a well-regarded lawyer in Canada in mid-2022 could find themselves in the same category as the people responsible for the Salem Witch Trials that cost 19 people their lives in Massachusetts in the early 1690s. When the dust settled, those accused of “witchcraft” in Massachusetts were regarded as victims and the people who made and affirmed the accusations — and carried out the executions — were regarded as villains, dupes and cowards. Only one accuser, Ann Putnam, apologized for her role in the tragedy.

The woke erasure of Tracy Chapman

The success of ‘Fast Car’ is being memory-holed to fit an identitarian narrative.

The year 1988 feels like a very long time ago to anyone who remembers it, and ancient history to anyone who doesn’t. I turned 20 halfway through it. So I’m afraid whatever travails and traumas I was undergoing have now been blotted out by the middle-aged person’s rose-tinted remembrance of being young. The grass was greener then, my memory tells me, unreliably.

William Watson: With Eleanor Wachtel retiring from ‘Writers & Company,’ it’s safe to shut down CBC

CBC Studio Diefenbunker

When the Reform party shook up Canadian politics in the 1990s, one of its proposals was to privatize CBC Television. In the three- or four-channel TV universe of the ’50s, it may have made sense to have a tax-funded corporation providing a full range of programming, from news to sports to comedy to variety. But even in the early ’90s, as today’s infinite-channel universe was beginning to take shape, there was no shortage of viewing options for Canadians and more than enough niches for original Canadian programming to fill without taxpayer assistance.

B.C. drug decriminalization not having ‘desired outcome’, police chief says

Delta Police Chief Neil Dubord is out with an open letter, criticizing some of B.C.’s legal drug policies as ineffective in the face of the toxic drug crisis.

Dubord writes that while he agrees with the “underlying principles of decriminalization, it is evident in the early evaluation that our communities are currently not experiencing the desired outcome from this policy change.”

He says early numbers indicate the number of drug poisoning deaths have not been going down.

The one big growth industry of the Trudeau years has been bureaucracy

In the 1980s, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan successfully combatted their countries’ large fiscal deficits with policies that included cuts to the number of bureaucrats employed in their respective countries. Recent Canadian governments also used these policies to deal with fiscal deficits, as the chart shows. It tracks the number of federal civil servants against population from the late 1990s until now, with 1997=100 for both series.

Protests outside schools and cinemas by hardline Muslims ‘pose national security threat’

Anti-blasphemy protests outside schools and cinemas by conservative Muslims are becoming a threat to national security, a new report has warned.

The review by the Henry Jackson Society think tank has warned that the failure to protect teachers and others from intimidation is amounting to a tacit anti-blasphemy law.

The 69-page report, Britain’s New Blasphemy Police?, examined a series of incidents in recent years including the case of a teacher at Batley Grammar School in West Yorkshire who showed pupils a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed during an RE lesson.

The Comely Face of Western Self-Cancellation

Miss Netherlands is a Mister.

Once upon a time, progressives sneered at beauty pageants. Whether the Miss America or the Miss Universe contest, all such “meat markets” objectify women, we were told. They turn females into sex objects! Reinforce patriarchal stereotypes! Teach girls that being in a state of partial undress, rather than learning how to code, is the path to success!

The US Government’s New ‘Ministry of Truth’: The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

Mission creep is a serious problem in the federal government, and the ongoing investigations by House Republicans into “weaponization” of government misdeeds have shown how pervasive and deep the problem can be.

The FBI, Justice Department, CIA and even the Internal Revenue Service all look as we have seen, like tempting operatives for use against political opponents or to run interference for allies. But what about an agency that is supposed to protect us against cyber threats? A new interim report from the House Judiciary Committee highlights politically motivated mission creep where we might least have expected it: The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

Intelligence Officials Previously Warned Ottawa About TikTok’s Data-Harvesting Methods: Report

The federal government was allegedly warned by a Canadian intelligence official that the Beijing-linked video-sharing app TikTok was misleading governments and the general public about its data-harvesting methods nearly half a year before Ottawa banned the app from all federal devices, according to an internal briefing note.

A document prepared for the government in September 2022 by the Privy Council Office’s (PCO) Intelligence Assessment Secretariat said that TikTok was giving “false public and governmental reassurances about data sovereignty and security.”
