The greatest generational conflict of all

Youth alienation isn’t confined to the West

Ever since the phrase “the generation gap” was minted — by a headline writer at Look during the youth rebellion of the Sixties — trouble has been brewing. Today, there are two generational conflicts in play around the world: one within the depopulating wealthy countries, and another within the more fecund, but far poorer, countries of the developing world.

Medieval England Was Too White

The woke war on the past reaches historic proportions.

After canceling most people who lived in the last two centuries for not being sufficiently accepting of the current dogma, woke academia has turned its attention to the distant past.

After accusing Isaac Newton and Robert Burns of being complicit in slavery, the British woke war on the past has gone bigger. Edinburgh University had already renamed David Hume Tower after Black Lives Matter activists accused the philosopher, born in 1711, of racism. The Sir Francis Drake Primary School had to change its name and William Gladstone is next.

Are the Canadian fires an act of eco-terrorism?

With fires raging in Canada and blanketing America’s northeast in thick orange smoke, leftists are again beating the “climate change” drum. Saner minds point to Justin Trudeau’s refusal to practice good forest management. But what if it’s neither of those things? It turns out that there’s compelling evidence suggesting that eco-terrorists set the fires to corral weary Westerners back into a climate change panic—and it won’t be the first time that’s happened.

How David Johnston embraced China for decades before probing election interference

David Johnston mentioned it repeatedly in speeches and media interviews, a source of pride and an emblem of his family’s closeness to an important nation.

Three of the former governor general’s five daughters spent at least part of their university years studying in China, he would note, one of them learning to speak Mandarin.

“Johnston said frankly that he has also noticed some changes in his daughters after staying in China,” said a China News Service account of a 2013 speech. “They are more curious, they know how to think critically, and their thinking and vision are more broadened.”

It was all a con.

Nord Stream Sabotage Probe Turns to Clues Inside Poland

Andromeda – Alleged Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage Boat

German investigation examines whether ally’s territory was a springboard for pipeline attack

German investigators are examining evidence that suggests a sabotage team used Poland, a European Union neighbor and NATO ally, as an operating base to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines built to transport Russian gas through the Baltic Sea.

The probe by Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office is examining why the yacht they believe was used to carry out the operation journeyed into Polish waters. Other findings suggest Poland was a hub for the logistics and financing of last September’s undersea sabotage attack that severed the strongest bond tying Berlin to Moscow. Poland, which is conducting its own inquiry, has struggled for months to learn what Germany is investigating.

Cuba is hosting a Chinese spy station, White House says

The Biden administration on Saturday disclosed the existence of a Chinese eavesdropping post in Cuba, and officials said the facility is one of dozens that Beijing has established, or sought to establish, as it seeks to expand intelligence gathering and other military operations throughout the world.

The spy station in Cuba dates back to at least 2019, when it underwent unspecified upgrades, a Biden administration official said, citing newly declassified intelligence. This official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter, declined to say when the facility was built.

German Greens Target Meat Eaters With Advertising Ban

Meat products could be removed from German menus in the future as the Green Party-led proposals aim to target meat consumption.

Meat could soon be off menus in German restaurants if the country’s Green Party has its way. The party revealed draconian new regulations to marginalise carnivores nationwide including a hefty new meat tax and advertising restrictions.

Former editor of the popular German tabloid Bild, Julian Reichelt, warned of outlandish new proposals being pushed by the German Ministry of the Environment this week. These proposals form part of a European trend against meat consumption. The proposals are unlikely to lift the German Green Party’s polling numbers, as the party feels the brunt of a collapse in public support.

Rex Murphy: Get ready for Trudeau’s next scandal burying tactic

Well, that’s the end of one big useless distracting storm.

The only accomplishment of Mr. Trudeau’s sly attempt to shed his responsibility as Prime Minister and load it onto the back of someone else is to have dug more than a few extra feet to the already deep sour well of Canadians’ cynicism about crony politics.

What’s next for the foreign interference probe? LeBlanc says all options on the table

All options are on the table for determining “next steps” following the news that former governor general David Johnston is resigning as special rapporteur, Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc said in a press conference Saturday.

The government will be consulting judicial experts and opposition leaders to decide what to do next, including who could be best to lead the rest of Johnston’s work or even who might lead a public inquiry, what the terms of reference would be and how one would respect classified information.

Earth v aliens: is the truth finally out there?

The last words spoken by 20-year-old Frederick Valentich were recorded on the evening of October 21, 1978. At 6.19pm Valentich took off alone from Moorabbin airfield in Victoria on what was logged as a return flight to King Island. The Cessna 182 four-seater carried a full load of fuel. There were light winds and visibility was described as excellent.

At 7.06pm, Valentich, flying at about 4500 feet, contacted Melbourne flight control to ask whether there was “any known traffic below 5000 (feet)”. The reply was negative.

Valentich then reported seeing a “large aircraft below 5000” approaching him from the east. The mystery aircraft was “sort of metallic … shiny (on) the outside” and had a green light.

The betrayal of Annecy

The Green mayor of Annecy, François Astorg, declared a fortnight ago that his town in the south-east of France was ‘a land of resistance against fascism, a land of solidarity, a refugee town for those fleeing war, misery and the unhappiness in the world’.

On Thursday, Astorg, expressed his ‘immense sadness’ and his ‘anger’ hours after a Syrian refugee ran amok in a park in Annecy, stabbing six people including four toddlers. ‘It’s the first time this has happened in Annecy,’ declared Astorg. ‘It’s unacceptable’.

Israeli filmmaker ejected from Roger Waters concert in London after waving Israeli flag

Eyewitnesses says that spectators who had Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flags in their possession were not removed.

Israeli filmmaker Guilhad Emilio Schenker was detained, interrogated by security and ejected from a Roger Waters concert in London after waving an Israeli flag, the Mako website reported on Friday.

Video posted to social media shows Schenker waving the flag in front of Waters as the former Pink Lloyd frontman stands on stage in a uniform resembling that of a Nazi officer.

Why LGBTQ community is running out of Pride — and into the arms of the GOP

Wall of Transgender Heroines

At a downtown Tempe, Ariz., “Pride Party” earlier this month, a drag queen encouraged the crowd to register to vote so that they may “turn the tide on all the hate and anti-gay nonsense in the statehouse . . . in Florida, in the United States.”

The “all ages” event also featured speeches by Democratic officials and a gay rapper who performed a song about a sex act. Video shows plenty of small children were present.
