Canada’s Tolerance Meter Just Broke

What happens when an unstoppable progressive force meets an immovable progressive wall? Apologies, for starters. Once again, Canada, America’s nutty neo-fascist neighbor to the north, has broken new ground in Leftist weirdness. As you know all too well at this point, it is Pride month here, there, and everywhere. And Canada is no exception. The current ruling class of Canucks has never met a progressive mantra it didn’t enthusiastically embrace. But unlike a certain brand of peanut butter cups whose name I cannot mention, sometimes two great tastes don’t go great together.

Terry Glavin: Here’s the report on Chinese interference that Johnston should have written

It’s quite the bombshell. It’s a 77-page investigative report on Beijing’s influence operations in Canada’s democratic institutions. It examines the Chinese Communist Party’s sinister engagements with this country’s political processes, universities, civil society, corporate sector, Chinese-language news media and social media.

Rich in documentary evidence and fact-based analysis, the report also relies on expert advice and named informants, except in cases where the security of individuals and entities would be put at risk. It’s titled Murky Waters: Beijing’s Influence in Canadian Democratic and Electoral Processes.

The consequences of white guilt

Through voluntary submission, we arrive at the depravity, the corruption, and the decline of Western Civilization.

The hotels are filled with them, and running out of room.

So, New York City Mayor Eric Adams wants New Yorkers to share their homes with the glut of illegal migrants who’ve encamped on the town.

He’s got five bedrooms at Gracie Mansion. How about there for a start?

Accordingly, a three-year-old video has emerged featuring Dan Cathy, CEO at Chick-fil-A, demonstrating what he calls remorse, contrition, and shame.

He urges white people to shine the shoes of black people as a sign of regret. Saying so, he did exactly that at a gathering to commemorate the George Floyd affair.

Divesting from Big Oil Is an Empty Gesture

California lawmakers want the state’s public pensions to get rid of fossil fuel stocks, claiming that will help save the planet. Who are they trying to kid?

Eleven years ago, the prominent climate activist Bill McKibben wrote an article for Rolling Stone magazine in which he acknowledged that decades of effort to slow global warming had been largely ineffective, and proposed a new tactic: divestment.

Taking his inspiration from the divestment campaign that preceded the abolition of apartheid in South Africa, McKibben called on institutions that managed money to sell their shares in fossil fuel companies. He quoted Bob Massie, an investor who had been active in the anti-apartheid campaign, as saying, “Given the severity of the climate crisis, a comparable demand that our institutions dump stock from companies that are destroying the planet would not only be appropriate but effective.” McKibben soon founded a grassroots organization, 350.org, that made fossil fuel divestment one of its primary goals.

Car thefts reach ‘national crisis’ levels, soaring close to 50 per cent in Ontario and Quebec due to organized crime activity

Canadian auto insurers lost more than $1-billion last year from stolen vehicles as organized crime rings helped push up car thefts by nearly 50 per cent in Ontario and Quebec.

In a report released Tuesday, Équité Association estimates the insurance industry nationally lost more than $1-billion in vehicle-theft claims in 2022, up from $700-million in 2021. And Équité, a not-for-profit organization that assists in insurance fraud and crime investigations, expects the losses to continue to climb.

CNN chief Chris Licht out after just 13 months

Don Lemon and Bryan Stelter are waiting by their phones…

The chief executive of CNN has stepped down after just 13 months in the job.

Chris Licht had been been under pressure after a recent article about him in the Atlantic magazine, for which he provided an unusual level of access, raised questions about his leadership.

The news network has also seen falling ratings and was widely criticised for its handling of a town hall interview with former president Donald Trump.

Parent company Discovery said “things did not work out the way we had hoped”.

Indian Land That Is Part of China’s Hawkish Policy

India feels a giant demon breathing on her shoulder.

The more China strengthens its military and economic power, the more threatened India feels. The main reason is China’s aggressive actions along the China-India border, known as the Line of Actual Control. India and China share a de facto border of 3,440 km in total — containing rivers, lakes and snowcaps at high altitudes.

Top London school bans pupils from using ‘sir’ or ‘miss’ over ‘cultural misogyny’

More painful being called “Miss” than cutting his dick off.

A top London state school has introduced a ban on pupils using the titles “sir” or “miss” to address headteachers, arguing the terms are “deeply unequal”.

James Handscombe, executive principal at Harris Westminster Sixth Form and Harris Clapham Sixth Form, said the school would require students to call teachers by their names to avoid “cultural misogyny”.

Bold Truth-Telling Is Out on President Biden’s Old Age

President Biden’s dramatic fall at the Air Force Academy commencement underlined a dangerous theme for Democrats: Joe Biden is too old to serve another full term, until he’s 86. He’s already struggling at 80.

Three years ago, The New York Times rushed into raising “health questions” for President Trump when he “hesitantly descended” a ramp at the West Point commencement. On Sunday, The Times tippy-toed into the Biden problem in a front-page article titled “Spry Diplomat with Stiff Gait: Aging Leader’s Complex Reality.”

Russian attack on Kherson dam could alter Ukraine’s strategy

Destruction of the reservoir will seriously complicate any plans to cross the Dnipro as part of the summer offensive

The destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam is a shock. But it should not have been a surprise.

For the Russians – an army on the defensive, expecting an imminent attack, and unbothered by collateral damage – it makes plenty of sense.

For the Ukrainians, it will seriously complicate any plans to cross the Dnipro as part of the summer offensive for two reasons.

David Johnston’s testimony raises more questions about his (Bullshit) report on foreign interference

There wasn’t much chance going in that David Johnston was going to win over MPs reviewing his report on foreign interference. And when he left, he hadn’t provided much reassurance for Canadians that he got to the bottom of things.

The government’s special rapporteur on foreign interference had to expect that his appearance at a Commons committee would bring more questions about his impartiality, and those of his staff. And it did.

Trudeau asked a fellow member of Canada’s China Class to whitewash their entanglement with the Communist Regime.
