Recession in Germany is a sign of Europe’s deindustrialisation

A lack of access to cheap energy has made the continent less competitive

Last week Germany announced that, after the government statistics agency revised its recent GDP figures, it was clear that the country was in recession. In recent history it has tended to hold up well as the global economy softened relative to some of Europe’s weaker economies. But this time it seems that Germany is leading the pack into recession.

To Address The Loneliness Epidemic, The Feds Want To Control Your Town And Friends

U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy recently released an advisory titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation.” It warns that social isolation is a major public health problem. The 81-page document presents six government-directed “pillars” of action to address the health hazards of social isolation.

On the surface, these six directives may look innocuous, but they present a clear and present danger to the autonomy of our private lives and relationships. The project is potentially so massive in scope that it’s not an overstatement to say it threatens to regulate our freedom of association in ways we never could have imagined.

O’Toole says CSIS told him about ‘active’ voter suppression by Trudeau’s pals in Beijing

Any strong words Trudeau may mouth about China are to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Former Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole says the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) found an “active campaign of voter suppression” by China against him and his party in the 2021 election.

O’Toole made the comments Tuesday from the floor of the House of Commons, within which MPs are protected by parliamentary privilege from civil or criminal prosecution under freedom of speech provisions. His speech comes after a briefing with CSIS last week.

Chow’s drug policies will bring horrors of other cities to Toronto

The scenes out of Philadelphia are horrific: People sitting in a zombie state, laying on the sidewalk, others looking up with eyes glazed over. A video of Kensington Ave., long a spot for the drug addled down and out, has shown what it looks like when the powerful sedative tranq comes to town.

The scary part is, this will soon be the reality on the streets of Toronto, especially if Olivia Chow is elected mayor.

Get out while you can.

Renewables and rare earths: the virtuous ravaging of South Africa

South Africa Beats Climate Goal as Blackouts Slash Emissions. It’s one of those headlines you read and assume the Babylon Bee is to blame. In this case, it came from a Bloomberg article, gushing about South Africa’s falling emissions putting it on track to meet its 2025 climate goals. They were even bold enough to note: ‘Power plant breakdowns are reducing industrial activity.’

Sure, collapsing into the Stone Age is probably going to lower your CO2 emissions – for a while – but pretty soon everyone is going to be chopping down the nearest forest like it’s 5000 BC.

United Conservatives’ narrow Alberta win sets up conflict with Trudeau

Alberta’s United Conservatives have scraped a majority government, narrowly defeating the rival New Democrats in what proved to be the province’s closest ever election.

The triumph for incumbent premier Danielle Smith foreshadows more friction between the western province and Canada’s federal government on environmental regulation, with Smith using her victory speech to attack the climate policies of the prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

BLM’s financial fall proves it only used dead black people to cash in

Some lottery winners have described their situation as being at the right place at the right time to receive their fortuitous ticket to wealth.

Their windfall immediately changes their lives, making them responsible for managing an amount of money they’d never dreamt of having.

People believe money changes a person, but I believe it only accentuates what was already within: The money just makes it easier to exhibit it.

Foreign Interference? How Non-Citizens Are Voting in American Elections

This month marks the 30th anniversary of President Bill Clinton signing the National Voter Registration Act into law. You probably know the law as “Motor Voter.” It is the federal requirement that requires state motor vehicle offices to offer voter registration and the ability to update your address.

Sounds convenient? Now, we have data showing one of the side effects of Motor Voter is to put non-citizens onto American voter rolls.

Pierre Poilievre is right about one thing: Special rapporteur is a fake job

The decision as to whether to hold a public inquiry on any topic, including the very important issue of foreign interference in Canada’s democracy, belongs to the prime minister. It cannot be transferred to an unelected, unaccountable appointee, regardless of that person’s credentials or experience. The ongoing noise about The Right Honourable David Johnston’s appointment to this position is an unfortunate distraction of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s making.
