At his fifth birthday, he debuted his new identity: “I got to wear the sparkly bathing suit for my party. I was a girl,” Jazz recalled later.

Globally, fertility rates are falling, but eco-worriers remind us that “overpopulation” continues to contribute to the climate emergency.

Imagine if one of the streaming services made a documentary about the hard life of Dylann Roof, the racist mass murderer who shot up a black church in Charleston in South Carolina in 2015. Imagine if they depicted Roof as a cool, charismatic kid – ‘a charmer’, they might say – who only went off the rails because of how badly he’d been let down by American society. Imagine if they implied that it was the myth of the American Dream, the unattainability of that dream to ‘white trash’ kids like Roof, that pushed poor Dylann over the edge. Worse, imagine if they hinted that it was Roof’s feeling that he was always playing second fiddle to other races – especially the black race – that pushed him towards hyper-violence.

Lots of rumors regarding why it happened are floating around, and as with all breaking news stories you should wait for a bit before you trust anything anybody says. “Inside sources” or outright speculations are unreliable. Was it Dominion? Was it Tucker wanting to defend himself? Was it something else?
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his COVID-19 vaccination policy helped Canada get through the pandemic and criticized related “misinformation and disinformation,” but he also said some people experienced side effects from the shots.
“The challenge that we have now is that increasingly, misinformation and disinformation [are] carrying people to believe things that are untrue. Vaccinations [are] a perfect example of it,” Trudeau said on April 24 while having an armchair discussion with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the University of Ottawa.

Tesla has begun producing in Shanghai a version of the Model Y to be sold in Canada this year, the first time it will ship cars to North America from China, according to a person with direct knowledge of the plan and a production memo seen by Reuters.
The move would connect Tesla’s biggest and most cost-efficient factory in the world to North America, its largest market. The Model Y is the electric vehicle (EV) maker’s best-selling model globally.
Manufacture in China will hurt Tesla’s brand.
Parole Board says measures needed to ‘protect society’ as Canadian terrorism convict is released
Citing Hersi’s “propensity for violence,” the Parole Board ordered the 37-year-old to undergo treatment “to address ingrained extremist ideologies” and “violent behaviour.”
He must also live at a halfway house upon his release, can own only one cell phone, and is not permitted to use a computer capable of accessing the internet, the Board wrote in its decision.

Police have charged Ottawa criminal defence lawyer James Bowie with harassment, extortion and two counts of uttering threats to a woman.
Bowie, 39, appeared in court Monday afternoon where he formally faced the criminal charges after he was arrested by Ottawa police Sunday.
Police said in a media release that they believe there could be other victims and circulated a photo of Bowie, “as he may have used aliases,” police said.
