The Sino-Forming of the Global South

Why did Saudi Arabia and Iran go to Beijing to restore diplomatic relations?

Why did Brazil’s President Lula visit Huawei headquarters in Shanghai this week, after declaring that the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China) should launch a global currency to replace the dollar?

Why did French President Emmanuel Macron declare after his meeting with Xi Jinping: “For the French president… it is crucial for the European nations to avoid becoming ‘vassals’ when Europe can be ‘the third pole’ vis-à-vis the United States and China. We do not want to adopt a ‘bloc-to-bloc logic’… and submit to ‘the extraterritoriality of the dollar.’”

Former CIA Officer Larry Johnson: This Is A Controlled Leak To Prepare The Public For “Crash Landing” Of U.S. Foreign Policy

Former CIA officer Larry Johnson, who did presidential daily briefings during the George H.W. Bush administration, told “Judging Freedom” host Andrew Napolitano that he thinks the latest leak of Ukraine War documents is an inside job.

About the source, he said: “I’d put it above the CIA. This is elements connected to the Director of National Intelligence… There’s no way that some National Guardsman doing [temporary duty] at Fort Bragg would have access to that.”

“The information was leaked for [a purpose], to prepare the U.S. public for the crash landing that’s going to take place with respect to U.S. foreign policy,” he said.

Increased scrutiny of Canada’s intelligence culture is overdue

Increased scrutiny of Canada’s intelligence culture is overdue

Security intelligence is meant to ascertain the identity, capabilities and intentions of adversarial actors. The whistle-blower on election interference who has been leaking intelligence assessments to The Globe and Mail is putting everything on the line: the person risks jail time, the revelations could well bring down the government (which would be a form of interference in itself, if the intent were partisan), and the actions could be injurious to the country’s reputation.

Yet, the government’s sympathizers have been quick to the draw: it is a single anonymous source; the person is disgruntled; it’s a handful of documents with a narrow range of topics; the accounts are parochial; this is racist stereotyping of Chinese-Canadians; it had no impact on the election outcome; etc.

Brussels Conference Challenges Anti-Meat Consensus

The societal and dietary importance of meat was highlighted at a conference of the Animal Task Force in Brussels Wednesday, April 12th, hosted by the University Foundation. A coalition of scientists and academics challenged moves to scale down meat production, as part of the green transition, and addressed the climate change-related arguments put forward against the industry.

The gathering was a follow-up to the 2022 Dublin Declaration, a document signed by 921 experts, which argued in favour of meat as an essential part of a balanced diet and a net positive for the environment .

Whistleblowers: Female Inmates in Washington State Prison Forced to Bunk With Male Rapists and Murderers; Punished if They Object

Female prison inmates inside the Washington Corrections Center For Women (WCCW) revealed in secret video footage this week how biological males are gaming the state’s Transgender Housing Program and victimizing vulnerable women.

Washington State’s Department of Corrections (DOC) boasts that it has been “a leader in the nation working with incarcerated transgender individuals providing gender affirming care to include housing in gender appropriate facilities.”

And …

Protesters demand trans inmates be removed from all-female New Jersey prison, where 10 were born male

Protesters are demanding that transgender women be removed from New Jersey’s only all-female prison — where 10 transgender women, including one who says she has a “taste for blood,” are held out of a total of 356 prisoners.

#GetMenOut activists held a protest at the state Capitol in Trenton on Friday, reading letters from four biologically female inmates at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, where one transgender inmate impregnated two women last year.

Michael Higgins: Katie Telford and the Liberal doctrine of secret government

There was no sunlight, Canadians are still left in the dark

Thanks to the prime minister’s chief of staff we now know that Justin Trudeau reads everything that is put in front of him. What is put in front of him and when, who wrote it, what it contains, and what did he do with the information remains a mystery.

Don Martin: Too much smoke not to have a fire somewhere inside the PMO or Liberal Party

After Liberal MPs wasted days to save her from a Commons committee appearance, Justin Trudeau’s office brain finally showed up Friday for a much-anticipated inquisition over foreign interference in Canadian elections.

It was a spectacular fizzle in terms of fresh revelations, which is precisely how Trudeau chief of staff Katie Telford wanted it as she set out to smother her testimony with a national security blanket.

Ottawa Police Cancel Internet Broadcast of Detective Grus ‘Sudden Infant Deaths’ Trial – Conceal Judge’s Decisions From Public – Lie to Journalist & Public (In Writing)

Ottawa Police Service stop broadcasting the trial of Detective Helen Grus – despite (or perhaps because of) intense public interest in Canada and worldwide.

Since September 2022, every appearance by Detective Grus before the Internal Trials Officer has been publicly broadcast on the Internet via MicroSoft Teams – but Ottawa Police have now arbitrarily decided to prevent citizens and journalists outside Ottawa from witnessing the upcoming April 28, 2023 motions hearing online.

Public sector strike will not play well in many parts of the country

Tens of thousands of federal public servants are in a position to strike after months of fruitless negotiations with their Ottawa bosses. Key pieces of dispute include non-wage benefits and whether some type of remote work protection should be part of collective agreements. When it comes to the demand for pay hikes, labour leaders can point to statistics showing Canadian average hourly wages up more than 5 per cent, year-over-year.

But if federal public servants walk off the job in the days or weeks ahead, prepare for a blast of public opinion against the strike, especially outside the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
