Migrant deaths at Mexican detention centre investigated as suspected homicide

Several arrest warrants requested after video emerges which appears to show guards leaving as fire engulfs a cell with migrants locked inside

The deaths of at least 39 migrants in a fire at a Mexican detention centre are being investigated as suspected homicides, a prosecutor has said, accusing those in charge of doing nothing to evacuate the victims.

Authorities faced mounting scrutiny of their handling of the disaster after video surveillance footage appeared to show guards leaving as flames engulfed a cell with migrants locked inside.

An investigation was opened “for the crime of homicide and damage to property,” though other possible crimes will also be considered, Sara Irene Herrerias, a prosecutor specialising in human rights, said.

Trudeau’s Battle Against a Free Internet

A proposed new law would give the government the power to filter what Canadians see in their news feeds, on YouTube and on social media. It also could block the next Justin…

In January 2007, Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, posted a video of her son, then 12, covering R&B star Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” at a kids’ singing competition in a little town near Toronto.

“I told him, ‘Okay, you’ve never sung in front of anybody before, and you’ve never had singing lessons,’” Mallette told me. ‘Let’s adjust our expectations.’ ” Bieber finished third. “One of the judges actually left because she was upset that he didn’t come first,” Mallette said.

What? Some actual good news in Freeland’s Budget?

International development groups say budget cut will end Canadian programs abroad

OTTAWA — Humanitarian groups are giving Tuesday’s federal budget a thumbs down, saying a projected $1.3-billion cut to foreign aid will end Canadian projects and create a backslide in progress on fighting disease and hunger.

“There is certainly a gap between rhetoric and reality in this year’s budget,” said Kate Higgins, the head of Cooperation Canada, which represents more than 95 non-profits.

“It undermines progress on development and Canada’s contribution to progress on development around the world.”

A 1.3 Billion cut? That’s a start but how do we end up with 95 non-profits reliant on the tax-payer teat? I bet that’s just the tip of the ice-berg.

How many of these actually accomplish anything?

Jacob Chansley, 35, who became the notorious poster boy of the Jan. 6 riots, had been sentenced to 3 1/2 years in federal prison but served only 11 months, said his attorney Albert Watkins.

More than half of Chinese Canadians say suggesting some Chinese-Canadian politicians are under Beijing’s influence is racist, only 1/3 believe ChiComs are election meddling

A third of Chinese Canadians believe Beijing meddling in elections, pressuring Canadians: poll

Just over a third of Chinese Canadians believe the government of China has tried to interfere in elections here and pressure Canadians in pursuit of its political aims, suggests a new Postmedia-Leger poll of an ethnic group at the centre of the foreign interference affair.

… At the same time, more than half thought suggesting certain Chinese-Canadian politicians are under Beijing’s influence is racist.

As discussion and debate rages over allegations of meddling by Beijing in Canadian affairs, much attention has turned to the country’s 1.7 million or so residents of Chinese descent.

No punches pulled those numbers indicate a clear danger to our society.

Our Politicians have remade Canada into a balkanized 5th Columnist state via mass immigration, multiculturalism and the denigration of our nations values and heritage.

Playing identity politics with Canada’s security is a vile and dangerous practice that all our political parties engage in.

Down with the Uniparty.

Twitter removes tweets about ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Twitter says it has removed thousands of tweets showing a poster promoting a “trans day of vengeance” protest in support of transgender rights in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of Trust and Safety, said in a tweet Wednesday that the company automatically removed more than 5,000 tweets and retweets of a poster promoting the event.

“We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them. “Vengeance” does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok,” Irwin wrote in the tweet.

“There was living space for thirteen families in this one SUV!” – Comrade Mallick Comes For Your Vehicle

Comrade Kaprugina delivers a scolding

SUVs are Toronto’s dinosaurs headed for extinction

How big does your car have to be? Do you really need an SUV?

Those behemoths you see bearing down on you in Toronto, high, heavy and wide, with a tow hitch and lots of cargo space, aren’t all owned by people with three children and a cottage and sports gear and a boat.

They’re also owned by urban people, possibly singletons, who bought big sport utility vehicles in preparation for bigger lives that may not have worked out that way in the downturn. Gas prices were low then. Superficially at least, there was no downside.

More communism is always the solution.

Ottawa School Board Meeting on Transgender Washroom Use Sparks Protest

“I wonder how many parents here tonight even know that trans female students—traditionally classified as male in gender—are allowed in their daughters’ bathrooms and changerooms unsupervised when each school has a gender-neutral private bathroom that can be used instead?”

Freeland presents a plan to green Canada’s electricity supply in new 5 year plan replacing old 5 year plan

The 2023 federal budget promises an ambitious national electricity plan to provide net-zero power from coast to coast to coast.

The budget document notes that Canada’s electricity demand is expected to double by 2050. Meeting that demand, the budget says, will require “massive investments” to ensure provincial and territorial electricity grids can support neighbourhoods where every garage might soon have an electric vehicle, and can supply energy-intensive industries like steel manufacturing as they switch from fossil fuels to electricity.

To unleash those investments, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s fiscal plan offers a clean electricity investment tax credit worth $6.3 billion over four years, along with billions of dollars more for a suite of other tax credits and measures.

The Liberal Government lives in a virtue signaling dream world that unfortunately translates as our nightmare reality.

RCMP not investigating foreign interference in Vancouver’s 2022 election, despite CSIS report

The RCMP is not investigating foreign interference in Vancouver’s election last year, despite a Canadian intelligence report that China’s consul-general sought to shape the outcome of that vote.

The report from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service describes Tong Xiaoling, then China’s chief representative to the West Coast city, as saying that “they needed to get all eligible voters to come out and elect a specific Chinese-Canadian candidate,” in the mayoral race, while also assessing a specific person to “groom” as a councillor.

NC public school says it’s looking to ‘revise campus policies’ after student straddled by drag queen

A North Carolina public school says it’s exploring ways to “revise campus policies” after children as young as 14 were invited to a drag queen show on campus.

Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem was thrust into the national spotlight Tuesday after a video published by Libs of TiktTok showed a drag queen straddling a young girl during an LGBTQ Pride Festival at the school.

The school confirmed in an earlier statement that students of all ages were allowed to attend, and photos posted by the school’s official Instagram account showed drag queens posing with young girls.

Controversial group behind ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’ raised money for firearms training

Despite three nine-year-olds being gunned down by a transgender shooter at a private Christian school in Nashville, activists are still rallying the troops to protest for a ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’ – months after raising money for firearms training.

Transgender shooter Audrey Hale opened fire on the Covenant School in Nashville at 10.30am on Monday, killing Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney and Evelyn Dieckhaus during her rampage at the school.

But despite rising political tensions across the country, which saw a press secretary for Arizona Democrat Governor post a Tweet about shooting transphobes, the Trans Radical Activist Network (TRAN) is pushing forward with their protest in DC.
