Don’t blame conservatives for the culture wars

Activists have been quietly promoting progressive issues for decades

Conservatives are losing the culture war and it’s because they are being divisive, argues John Burn-Murdoch in an interesting FT piece today.

The underlying message seems to be that conservative parties should go with the radical progressive flow in order to woo the next generation of voters, even if that means ushering in a wholesale change to the culture that most voters don’t want. This is a classic of the ‘it’s inevitable, so submit’ progressive neoliberal genre, which is deeply misleading.

Ten Reasons Why Reparations for Blacks is a Bad Idea for Blacks

And racist too.

Over the past couple of years, the Reparations movement has gained tremendous momentum in California. The California Reparations Task Force, which was created by the state legislature in 2020, is considering a proposal to give just under $360,000 per person to approximately 1.8 million Black Californians who had an ancestor enslaved in the U.S. Of course California was admitted as a Free State in 1850 and never had slaves, which makes this seem more of a racial extortion racket than compensation.

Theologian Thunberg and the pseudo-religion

Imagine that: it seems that Greta Thunberg is now a top theologian…? Yes, I realise that honorary degrees are usually not worth the paper they are printed on, but in what has to be the joke of the decade, climate change activist (and some may say, alarmist) Greta Thunberg has been awarded an honorary doctorate in theology from the Theology Faculty at the University of Helsinki.

‘Woke’ US schools scarier than North Korea, says defector

Author Yeonmi Park, who fled being a sex slave in North Korea, slams cancel culture at America’s Ivy League universities

The curriculum taught in US schools is as frightening as the teachings of North Korea, a defector of the dictatorship has said.

Yeonmi Park, 29, who fled the hermit state as a young teenager in 2007, became a US citizen last year. She said she was “embarrassed” to study human rights in America.

Her memoir, In Order To Live, detailing her perilous journey to freedom, gained her an international platform as a human rights activist.

Can Israel Survive?

It has never been easy for Israel — the understatement of the century — from the moment of its establishment in 1948, when it was invaded by five Arab armies, to the present day, when it is facing multiple threats to its very survival. It suffers a history like no other nation in the world, surrounded by enemies, fighting wars on every front, infiltrated by terrorists, confronting the wetware dreams of genocidal regimes, in particular the prospect of a nuclear Iran sworn to the country’s annihilation, and subject to an international delegitimation campaign carried out via the United Nations, the World Council of Churches, spurious NGOs and “peace” organizations, labor unions, university campuses, and a hostile European Union.

A demonstrator is fighting for his life after an environmental protest ended in “scenes of horror” when police fought activists using petrol bombs, axes, metal spikes and other weapons.

The 30-year-old man suffered a head injury, adding to tensions over claims of police brutality during protests against President Macron’s pension reforms.

Russian naval vessels ‘near Nord Stream’ days before attack

The Real Nord Stream Pipeline Saboteur

A convoy of six Russian naval vessels was detected around the site of the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage five days before it occurred, according to a report.

Three of the four conduits carrying natural gas from Russia to Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea were disabled by explosions near the Danish island of Bornholm on September 26 last year. While various reports have pointed the finger of blame at the US or a “pro-Ukrainian” group, there are discrepancies and puzzling details in both versions of events.

Ham-fisted CBC propaganda gambit calls on retired US Admiral to run cover for Trudeau and declare 5 Eyes still trusts the ChiCom compromised little weasel

Canadian leaks have not damaged intelligence sharing relationship, senior U.S. official says

A senior American national security official says Canadian leaks of information around allegations of foreign election interference from China have not affected key international intelligence sharing relationships.

“There’s no breach of trust with Canada or the Five Eyes relationship whatsoever,” said John Kirby, co-ordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, in an interview Sunday on Rosemary Barton Live. The Five Eyes alliance is made up of Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

This is the CBC running propaganda for the LPC. They were asked to polish the turd and find someone to speak nicely about Junior. My bet is 5 Eyes considers Trudeau a rat.

There’s a reason Canada wasn’t invited to join AUKUS and it is well known that Canada is no longer considered a reliable partner.

Kirby is retired and works for the National Security Council in communications, he does not advise the President personally and it is doubtful he has access to real information concerning Canada’s status within 5 Eyes, none that he could divulge at any rate. This was a staged pat on the back for optics, all part of the game. It’s not as if it’s his place to publicly denounce our Useful Idiot PM to fangirl Rosie.

Power Play – The NHL goes woke.

On August 26, 2020, when the Milwaukee Bucks refused to play their game following the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the NHL was the lone professional sports league to go forward with its schedule. The following day, however, a newly formed group led by prominent black NHL players called the Hockey Diversity Alliance spearheaded the postponement of games for the next two nights. And in the aftermath of the incident, the NHL launched a series of initiatives designed to, as Morning Consult put it, “combat racism and make the traditionally white sport more inclusive.”

Raymond J. de Souza: Trudeau will drag Johnston down, like he does everyone else

OTTAWA — I admire the Right Hon. David Johnston. Which is why I was disappointed that he accepted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s invitation to serve as a “special rapporteur” regarding the Chinese regime’s interference in our elections. Trudeau has an uncanny ability to drag those around him down.

Johnston was brought down by his own doing. He is a CCP dupe like our idiot PM. They already inhabit the reputational slums of Canada’s despised “China Class.”

ChatCCP: China’s AI challenge

CCP propagandists will no doubt relish the opportunities that new AI chatbots will provide

The Chinese Communist Party faces a conundrum: it wants to lead the world in artificial intelligence and yet it is terrified of anything with a mind of its own. Chinese regulators have reportedly told domestic tech companies not to offer their users ChatGPT, the Microsoft-funded chatbot that can provide seemingly well-researched answers to pretty much any question you can think to ask it. China Daily, a CCP mouthpiece, has admitted that the technology has already gone “viral” in China. The paper said that AI could give “a helping hand to the US government in its spread of disinformation and its manipulation of global narratives for its own geopolitical interests.”

Twitter Says Parts of Its Source Code Were Leaked Online

Parts of Twitter’s source code, the underlying computer code on which the social network runs, were leaked online, according to a legal filing, a rare and major exposure of intellectual property as the company struggles to reduce technical issues and reverse its business fortunes under Elon Musk.

Twitter moved on Friday to have the leaked code taken down by sending a copyright infringement notice to GitHub, an online collaboration platform for software developers where the code was posted, according to the filing. GitHub complied and took down the code that day. It was unclear how long the leaked code had been online, but it appeared to have been public for at least several months.

“Woke Army” Exposes Red-Green Alliance’s Pernicious Goal to Silence Radical Islam Critics

In her new book, Woke Army: The Red-Green Alliance That is Destroying America’s Freedom, former Wall Street Journal reporter Asra Nomani exposes the “Woke Army” – an unholy alliance of radical Islamists and far left activists who are leveraging identity politics and racial conflict to subvert American democracy and castigate Israel.

The diabolical agenda of this well-funded ideological nexus is revealed in the creation of a disinformation website. The goal of this hidden network of keyboard warriors hiding behind fake identities is clear: To discredit Muslim reformers and critics of radical Islam, and frame Muslims as perpetual victims.
