Nato chief: west must brace to support Ukraine in a long war

Vladimir Putin has no immediate plans for peace in Ukraine and so the west needs to brace itself to supply lethal aid to Kyiv for a long time to come, Nato’s secretary general has warned in an interview with the Guardian.

Jens Stoltenberg said the Russian president was engaged in “a war of attrition”, and said he wanted Nato members to agree that spending 2% of GDP on defence as a minimum at the alliance’s next summit, in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.

The fierce fighting, currently centred around Bakhmut, in eastern Ukraine, demonstrates Russia is willing “to just throw in thousands and thousands more troops, to take many casualties for minimal gains”, the Nato head said.

Bruce Pardy: Human rights tribunal says the quiet part out loud – White people cannot claim discrimination.

In June 2021, an Ontario high school student tried to sign up for a summer program. He was rejected because he was white. The “SummerUp” program, sponsored by the Ontario government, was open only to Black students. His father filed a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal alleging racial discrimination. Last November, the Tribunal dismissed the complaint, saying the quiet part out loud. White people, wrote the Tribunal, cannot claim discrimination.

Fuck them. Fuck the Uniparty.

Why you can’t afford to rent let alone buy a home: Canada’s population grew by record 1 million in 2022, spurred by Trudeau’s mass immigration scam

Canada’s population increased by more than a million people for the first time in history in 2022, almost entirely due to a surge in immigrants and temporary residents, Statistics Canada said on Wednesday.

Total population grew by a record 1.05 million people to 39.57 million in the 12 months to Jan. 1, 2023, and about 96 per cent of the rise was due to international migration, the statistics agency said.

The increase, which helped Canada retain its position as the fastest-growing G7 country, translates to a population growth rate of 2.7 per cent and such a rate would lead to the population doubling in about 26 years, the agency said.

Plus … Trudeau, Poilievre Spar Over Canada’s Housing Affordability Crisis

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre sparred over the ongoing housing affordability crisis across Canada during question period on March 22, with the leader of the official opposition calling on Trudeau to find ways of bringing down rising mortgage costs.

Poilievre said Trudeau promised to bring down housing costs when he first took office eight years ago, but has so far failed to do so.

“It cost $1,400 to pay an average mortgage [in 2015],” said Poilievre. “How much does it cost today?”

Poilievre later pointed out that Canada’s average mortgage price has risen to over $3,100 since then.

Xi Jinping’s chilling words for Putin

It was perhaps the most intriguing moment of their Moscow summit. As Xi Jinping left the Kremlin last night, he stood face to face with Vladimir Putin and told the Russian leader, ‘Change is coming that hasn’t happened in 100 years and we are driving this change together’. The two men clasped hands, smiling. ‘I agree,’ Putin said, briefly bringing up his free hand to hold Xi’s arm. The Chinese leader then added, ‘Please take care, dear friend’.

A Modicum of Sense

The U.K. walks back enforcement of non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs), better understood as thought crimes.

With recorded crime across England and Wales at a 20-year high, signs are emerging that the U.K. government might be coming to its senses.

Under new plans announced by Home Secretary Suella Braverman, the police will be instructed to record non-crime hate incidents (NCHI) only when necessary, not simply when someone feels offended, and officers reporting them will have to give precedence to freedom of speech and expression over restrictions on offensive or insulting language.

Trudeau’s Liberal MP Han Dong secretly advised Communist Chinese Diplomat to keep the Two Michaels imprisoned in 2021: sources

Justin Trudeau and Han Job Dong

Liberal MP Han Dong, who is at the centre of Chinese influence allegations, privately advised a senior Chinese diplomat in February 2021 that Beijing should hold off freeing Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, according to two separate national security sources.

Both sources said Dong allegedly suggested to Han Tao, China’s consul general in Toronto, that if Beijing released the Two Michaels, whom China accused of espionage, the Opposition Conservatives would benefit.

The Liberal government must resign, they are evil.

Kent Police sign lists rape, domestic abuse, as ‘non-emergency’ crime

Kent Police has come under fire for displaying a sign listing rape and sexual assault as “non-emergency” crimes in a police station.

The A4 printout urged Maidstone residents to report “non-emergency enquiries” via an online form.

The list included anti-social behaviour, missing persons and fraud.

Police said it was part of their Click B4 U Call campaign, which encouraged people, where suitable, to use online reporting to free up call handlers.

The World Economic Forum and the West’s Next Act?

If you are a consumer today, inflation is only one of the problems harming you. As prices go up, quality continues to go down. What most stores have to offer you might crassly be called “cheap crap.” In fact, economic writer Charles Hugh Smith has repeatedly warned that the “crapification” of the U.S. economy is the natural result of a “neoliberal-hyper-financialization-hyper-globalization model,” in which quasi-monopolist manufacturers mass-produce goods with the cheapest possible components, while customers with scant other buying options are forced to accept that few purchases will last.

Dem-led Colorado city BANS new gas stations in bid to tackle climate change: Now limited to six in town of 21,000 people

Stupid communist

The blue-run city of Louisville, Colorado will ban all new gas stations as local lawmakers say they feel an ‘obligation’ to fight climate change.

City councilors in the town of 21,000 approved a proposal Tuesday evening to cap the number of gas stations for their constituents to just six.

A seventh station would only be permitted if a large retailer swoops in, but the limitation was praised by a Louisville legislator who said the move was necessary to combat global warming.

Explaining the Link Between Liberalism and Mental Illness

Why are conservatives happier than liberals? Why do leftists report more anxiety, depression, and neuroses compared to those on the right?

Social scientists are perplexed — as well they should be, considering that for every one conservative social scientist, there are 10 liberals. But across all age groups, all incomes, all races, and both sexes — in every single measurable way — conservatives are happier than liberals.
