Assault on California Power Station Raises Alarm on Potential for Terrorism
SAN JOSE, Calif.—The attack began just before 1 a.m. on April 16 last year, when someone slipped into an underground vault not far from a busy freeway and cut telephone cables.
Within half an hour, snipers opened fire on a nearby electrical substation. Shooting for 19 minutes, they surgically knocked out 17 giant transformers that funnel power to Silicon Valley. A minute before a police car arrived, the shooters disappeared into the night.
To avoid a blackout, electric-grid officials rerouted power around the site and asked power plants in Silicon Valley to produce more electricity. But it took utility workers 27 days to make repairs and bring the substation back to life.
In 2017, the Communications Security Establishment revealed the existence of “low-sophistication cyber threat activity” on Twitter targeting the 2015 election.
More recently, a Global News report revealed that China was behind a “vast campaign of foreign interference” in the 2019 election. This interference reportedly included financial payments to at least 11 federal candidates and “numerous Beijing operatives” who worked in campaign offices at the behest of their Communist overlords.
A months-long investigation into an alleged criminal enterprise has led to the arrest of six people and the seizure of 62 firearms that police say were “destined” for Toronto streets.
The investigation, dubbed ‘Project Barbell,’ began in the fall of 2021 after members of the Toronto Police Service’s Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force became aware of two individuals that were suspected of trafficking firearms within the city.
Police say that officers ultimately executed a series of search warrants at addresses and vehicles associated with the suspects on May 28 of this year.

Girl (14) dies after being attacked on the way to school
Illerkirchberg (Baden-Württemberg) – There are tragic scenes that must have happened in the early hours of the morning in Illerkirchberg, south of Ulm. A girl (14) lost her life in a brutal attack on her way to school. Another (13) was seriously injured.
… The alleged perpetrator is said to have fled to a neighboring apartment building. The house is the municipal refugee shelter.
