Blaming gender-critical commentators for the atrocity in Colorado is morally repugnant.

The Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs turns the stomach. Alleged gunman Anderson Lee Aldrich walked into the LGBT venue last Saturday night with a long rifle and a pistol. He killed five people and injured 25 more. He could have wreaked even more carnage had it not been for the remarkable heroism of army veteran Richard Fierro, who pulled the scumbag to the floor by the back of the ludicrous body armour he was wearing, before doing this to his face. Fierro says he was helped by another punter, who kicked Aldrich’s rifle away from him, and by a drag queen, who proceeded to stiletto Aldrich in the head. I’m sure none of them will ever have to buy a drink in Colorado Springs again.

He has regularly hosted meteor shower parties with rooftop fireworks. He organised a long-running game of nude croquet in his backyard, which, it should be mentioned, is ringed by 20-foot-tall laurel hedges. Even Tucker Carlson proved no match for Knight’s ebullience.

During a 2005 interview with Knight on MSNBC, Carlson criticised him for espousing “the sickest” of beliefs but then added, “You are one of the cheeriest guests we’ve ever had.”

Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her troublesome habit of making anti-Semitic statements, and now the winsome Omar has struck back–not, of course, by apologizing for her anti-Semitism and vowing to make amends, but by accusing McCarthy and the Republican Party in general of (surprise!) “Islamophobia,” “racism” and more. To the man who has only a hammer, every problem looks like a nail, and to Ilhan Omar, everyone who opposes her must be an “Islamophobe” and a racist. After all, why else would anyone possibly stand against such a patriotic, accomplished, and eloquent legislator as she?

Do you remember back when you were in school and your math or science teacher gave a test in class in which you were asked to solve a problem or two and you were explicitly admonished to show your work? The reasons for this admonition are self-evident. First, obviously, to prevent cheating. It might be possible for one student to copy the final answer over the shoulder of another, but if the cheater tried to copy an entire step-by-step process, he was likely to get caught doing so by the wary eye of the teacher. Secondly, by showing her work the student demonstrated that she really understood the problem and how to solve it.

Ukraine war: Merkel says she lacked power to influence Putin

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has defended her policy towards Russia prior to the February invasion of Ukraine, saying she had run out of power to influence Vladimir Putin.

She said she had tried to convene European talks with the Russian president and French President Emmanuel Macron in the summer of 2021.

“But I didn’t have the power to get my way,” she told Spiegel news.

“Really everyone knew: in autumn she’ll be gone,” she said.

UK bans Chinese cameras from government buildings

The U.K. is restricting Chinese-made surveillance equipment from sensitive sites including government buildings, based on a government review of security risks.

“The review has concluded that, in light of the threat to the U.K. and the increasing capability and connectivity of these systems, additional controls are required,” said Cabinet office minister Oliver Dowden in a statement to Parliament.

The cameras are “produced by companies subject to the National Intelligence Law of the People’s Republic of China,” Dowden added.
