Americans who fancy themselves net-zero climate advocates might want to take a look at Britain for a guide to the future. Household energy bills were expected to rise 40% this autumn, but on Friday the government regulator announced they’ll leap 80% in a single bound.

This boost follows a 54% rise in April and brings the average household’s annual bill to £3,549 ($4,208). The median household income is £31,400, which gives a sense of the growing proportion of each household’s budget that will go toward central heating, cooking and keeping the lights on. For the ruling Tories, this is a political calamity.

This led to a lot of dystopian science fiction, like Harry Harrison’s novel, “Make Room, Make Room,” which became the famous movie “Soylent Green.” It also led to a lot of policy changes, from China’s disastrous one-child policy to many policies in industrialized nations aimed at people having fewer children later in life.

A group of prominent Canadians including artists, journalists, civil rights activists, politicians and business executives is calling on Bell Canada to ‘make things right’ after the dismissal of CTV News anchor Lisa LaFlamme.

In an open letter published on Saturday in The Globe and Mail, they say Bell Media’s ‘business decision’ to fire the award-winning journalist “in the very prime of her career” has had a profound impact on everyone.

Uh no. Not even close.

This must be the 400th article on Laflamme getting canned with no end in sight.

No one I know gives a shit but tax payer money helped produce this orgy of self-love by Trudeau’s media.

“I’ll vote for you bro!!!”

“This guy is Canada’s future.”

Those are the kinds of comments NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh used to get on his TikTok videos. Users of the app — a youth favourite — would reply to the leader’s viral clips, begging him to unseat Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and change the way politics is done in Canada. Orange heart emojis would sometimes follow.

But those comments aren’t from Singh’s profile. They’re scattered beneath presumed Conservative leadership front-runner Pierre Poilievre’s TikTok videos. And now, the heart emojis are blue.

This turns into a “But Jagmeet is the superior candidate for da Yutes” spiel.

The six-inch Black Hornet ‘microdrones’ that can enter Russian buildings

Britain is to supply Ukraine with hundreds of “microdrones” so small they can fly within feet of Russian soldiers and enter buildings to spy on their positions.

The six-inch Black Hornet drones, which look like a child’s toy helicopter, were first used by British forces during the invasion of Afghanistan.

The miniature drones have a 1.2-mile range, a top speed of 11mph, night vision and a flight time of up to 25 minutes.

Far-right activist Kris Kearns faces extradition to Britain on terror charges

A prominent activist in Britain’s far-right Patriotic Alternative movement faces extradition from Spain and up to 15 years in prison on terror charges.

Kris Kearns, 37, was reported by The Times last year to be running a network of men’s fitness groups on behalf of the fast-growing organisation.

A Spanish court has approved his removal on suspicion of allegedly encouraging violence against non-whites. His lawyers said there was no proof against him.

How an antisemitic bigot named Laith Marouf built a lucrative career as a Canadian government-funded ‘anti-racist’

There are few politicians who’ve embraced the anti-racism movement more fervently than Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. With great fanfare, his government has launched multiple programs intended to eradicate the “racism, discrimination, and xenophobia” that Trudeau describes as being a major contaminant within Canadian society. Alas, it has now been revealed that a major beneficiary of this Liberal anti-racism largesse is one of Canada’s most outspoken bigots, whose company was promised C$130,000 (about US$107,000) in public funds to mount a six-city national tour aimed at “building an anti-racism strategy” within the Canadian broadcasting industry. And the resulting scandal has become international news.

The bigot in question is Laith Marouf, a fanatical Palestinian-rights activist and one-time campus firebrand whose activities I’ve been following, on and off, for two decades—beginning with his 2001 expulsion from Concordia University in Montreal.

Cineworld is the planet’s second-largest theater chain. Here in the U.S., it’s known as Regal Theaters. And now, due to several factors — one being the woke pandemic — talk of “bankruptcy” is in the air.

Yes, one of those factors is the anti-science China Flu lockdowns. There’s also global and U.S. recession. Add to that the last few months of 2022, which looks pretty barren as far as blockbusters go—which leads me to Hollywood’s woke problem.
