Jihad Rehab: former Guantánamo prisoners call for documentary to be withdrawn

A group of former Guantánamo prisoners are calling for the film Jihad Rehab to be withdrawn. In an open letter, the men express their “discomfort with the content of the film and its methods of production.”

The letter was published after the film was screened at the Doc Edge festival in New Zealand under a new name, The UnRedacted. “Changing the title of the film doesn’t change its harmful narrative or lazy stereotyping,” says Moazzam Begg, a former prisoner and director of the Cage advocacy group. “Following widespread criticism, the team behind Jihad Rehab had an opportunity to listen and learn. Yet this has been met with little corrective action or even acknowledgment.”

Tramps Like Bruce…

By now, you will have heard that Bruce Springsteen fans have been apoplectic over the news that tickets for his 2023 tour are in some cases going for $4,000 to $5,000. Ticketmaster, which is at least one corporation that the cultural elites do not seem to oppose, has defended the move by stating that it is part of its “dynamic system” allowing it to price “platinum” tickets on a system based on supply and demand. No need to find a scalper outside the venue. You can find one in just a few clicks. But as Bobby Olivier pointed out at NJ.com, back in 2009, Springsteen and his manager were opposed to a merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation because said merger would create a monopoly. And as Olivier says: “Yet 13 years later, here we are again.”

Whatever you may think of Springsteen one thing is certain Springsteen is not the Springsteen he thinks he is.

I liked him but playing Hillary’s concert extinguished whatever remnant of fandom remained.

Now I just wanna stick it to the man.

When did strip clubs go woke?

When I worked for a men’s mag 20 years ago, the Left deplored the objectification of women. It seems times have changed

Peter Stringfellow was routinely denounced by the Left. But if he were alive today, perhaps they’d defend him. Because, improbable as it may seem, Left-wing councillors in Bristol – Brighton’s closest rival for the title of Britain’s wokest city – have just rejected a proposed ban on strip clubs.

According to a Green councillor, shutting down strip clubs would “discount the voices of some women” and “restrict their choices”. A Labour councillor, meanwhile, suggested that strip clubs were actually safer for women than city centre pubs. Hailing the councillors’ decision, the Bristol Sex Workers’ Collective said its members were “screaming, crying, throwing up with joy”.

Pay Attention To The Dutch Farmer Protests Because America Is Next

Americans should start paying closer attention to the ongoing farmer protests in the Netherlands, which this week transformed long swaths of Dutch highways into what looked like a post-apocalyptic warzone: roadside fires raging out of control, manure and farming detritus heaped across highways, traffic stalled for miles, and massive protests across the country in support of the farmers.

Why is the Netherlands, of all places, experiencing such unrest? Americans need to understand what’s happening over there because the ruinous climate policies that triggered these protests are precisely what President Joe Biden and the Democrats have in mind for the United States.

As Ukrainians Defect To Russia, We Should Ask Whether Our Billions Are Saving Democracy Or Aiding Corruption

The first lady of Ukraine was in Washington last week to be feted by the Biden administration, Congress, and the corporate press. Olena Zelenska, the attractive and patriotically dressed wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was given the Jackie Kennedy/Michelle Obama treatment by fashion columnists while also helping to reinforce the message that Ukraine’s effort to defend itself against Russian aggression is a battle for democracy and the survival of the West.

Prof. Bill Jacobson: Woke Medicine Prioritizes Non-Whites

William Jacobson, professor of law at Cornell University and founder of Legal Insurrection, noted on Friday how “non-white” patients have already been prioritized for medical care in some situations due to “woke” ideology, which includes “critical race theory” narratives and racially discriminatory “anti-racism” protocols.

GOLDSTEIN: Why Trudeau’s climate ‘plan’ is doomed to fail

Canada’s C.D. Howe Institute recently gathered experts in four of the seven major sectors of our economy that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is targeting to lower Canada’s industrial greenhouse gas emissions to 40%-45% below 2005 levels by 2030.

The four sectors — oil and gas, transportation, buildings and electricity — account for more than 70% of Canada’s 2020 emissions, the last year for which government data are available.

They were asked to assess how realistic Trudeau’s targets are, given that their industries will have to implement them.

A shocking video shows how racialized America has become

I have no idea where the video came from, but I think it’s worth noting because it seems to show that the Democrat party has so successfully racialized America in the last 15 years or so that we are beginning to live out Charles Manson’s “Helter Skelter” madness. Manson’s dream was to destroy society, so it’s up to us to recognize what’s going on and fight back against this almost apocalyptic racial division.

Disapproval of the Trudeau Government Hits New High

Conservative lead widens as unhappiness with federal government and Prime Minister Trudeau grows

… Approval of the federal government is sagging. Today, 34% approve of the government’s performance, down 4-points this month, while disapproval has spiked to 51% (up 5 points in two weeks), the highest number ever recorded since the Trudeau government was elected in 2015 and the highest since March 2019 in the middle of the SNC Lavalin controversy.

Douglas Todd: Why China’s woes matter to Canada

Opinion: China’s economic problems and tough COVID measures have more Chinese people longing for Canada

China is in turmoil. The once-roaring housing market of the world’s second-largest economy is collapsing.

The regime’s harsh zero-COVID restrictions are causing bitterness and anger.

Beijing’s stepped-up quest for “common prosperity” has many worried their savings and assets aren’t being treated as actually theirs — and could be confiscated by Communist party rulers in the name of equality.

More people, especially the rich, want to escape.

And this is a good thing why?

On the front line at Drag Queen Story Hour

The view among protestors was clear: drag queens are for nightclubs, not toddler groups

Henleaze, a suburb in the north of Bristol, is an unlikely place for a protest. This is a well-to-do area where the houses sit behind neatly-clipped hedges and cost over half-a-million pounds. But across the road from the local Waitrose yesterday morning, Henleaze’s library was surrounded by at least a dozen police officers and two angry groups of demonstrators. A gaggle of toddlers and their mums had also gathered. Drag Queen Story Hour was about to begin.

Polls Show Growing Number of Americans Pulling the Plug on Democrats’ ‘Climate Change’ Hysteria

The left has tried every trick in their “global warming” bible to convince the majority of Americans that climate change is not only real, but it’s also urgent. Or, as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate [ROFL emoji] John Kerry and other “climate change” loons love to say, with great drama: the existential threat of mankind.

Saudi sisters were ‘actively’ seeking asylum after they escaped to Australia before renouncing Islam – only to be found dead five years later

The two young Saudi sisters found dead in their beds were both seeking protection from the Australian government, it has been revealed, as more details about their attempts to build a normal life here emerged.

Asra Abdullah Alsehli, 24, and Amaal Abdullah Alsehli, 23, each had an active claim for asylum in progress with the Department of Home Affairs, it has been confirmed.

They were found dead in their Canterbury unit in Sydney’s west on June 7 when police conducted a welfare check, with no visible signs of forced entry.
