YouTube might be asked to manipulate algorithms under online streaming bill: CRTC chair

The chairman of Canada’s broadcast regulator says it might ask platforms such as YouTube to “manipulate” their algorithms to make Canadian music easier to find, under powers in the proposed online streaming bill.

Ian Scott told a Senate committee examining the bill that although the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission would not want to manipulate algorithms itself, it might tell platforms, “I want you to manipulate it (the algorithm) to produce particular outcomes.”

This won’t end well, they won’t stop at your personal hit parade. Google manipulates search results as it is. Imagine a Trudeau government calling the shots.

In reality, it was stunning that the Democrat party coalesced around an old white guy who worked with segregationists and had nearly 50 years of embarrassing gaffes and statements.

The Left knows where the votes are, ideology be damned. That is the story in la Seine Saint-Denis, and as it goes, so goes Europe.

A few weeks ago, before the Champions League final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, football champion Thierry Henry shocked the public by saying that “Saint-Denis is not Paris”, before adding: “Believe me, not you would like to be in Saint-Denis, it’s not the same as Paris. . . “.

Yet, there was a time when half the population of Seine-Saint-Denis was Breton. It was a great immigration, coming from the peninsula which has its center in Rennes, a region of oak forests and stone huts topped by long chimneys. This is the France that is disappearing.

Today the Bretons represent only 11 percent of the population of Saint-Denis and are “in danger of extinction” for demographic reasons, while Saint-Denis has been changed by another immigration: extra-European.

‘New Day’? Renaming of Canada Day events in Winnipeg sparks controversy

“We are reimagining a Canada Day, a new day, that includes a reflective, inclusive and fun day for everyone to come together,” says an events notice on The Forks’ website.

The celebrations, which news reports have said will be called “New Day,” will feature “spaces for healing, with Indigenous-led music, dance, and sacred fires,” food trucks and picnic spots, “family-friendly, multicultural entertainment,” including Indigenous games, a chalk and bubble station and an oral history tour with Indigenous elders.

Google whistleblower claims tech giant’s Developer Studio division has been infiltrated by ‘pedophilic religious doomsday cult’ Fellowship of Friends

An apocalyptic ‘cult’ led by an eccentric misogynist accused of sexual abuse of young men has taken over a division of Google, a whistleblower has claimed.

Kevin Lloyd, 34, claims that he was fired from his job as a video developer at Google last year because he began questioning the influence of the cult.

In August, Lloyd filed a discrimination case in California Superior Court, alleging he was fired for digging into Fellowship of Friends – a group based in the small Californian town of Oregon House, and whose members made up a large percentage of employees in his division.

A leading Chinese electric car company has said two people were killed when one of its vehicles fell from the third floor of its Shanghai headquarters.

Nio, a homegrown brand sometimes seen as a potential rival to Tesla, said the incident happened at about 5.20pm on Wednesday. One of the victims was its employee, and the other from a partner company. They were both inside the vehicle when it fell.

As inflation rates soar to the highest they’ve been in Canada in forty years, nearly half of Canadians say that right now, they’re doing worse financially than they were at this time last year.

A further third say they expect things to get even worse in the coming year, the largest number of people to answer this way in more than a decade.

RCMP held back senior Mountie’s controversial notes about Trudeau-Lucki interference for months, inquiry says

Four crucial pages of a senior Mountie’s notes were missing the first time the federal Department of Justice sent them to the public inquiry looking into the Nova Scotia mass shooting.

The key section included allegations the head of the RCMP promised politicians the force would release information about guns used during the April 2020 rampage.

The Mass Casualty Commission said the federal government sent 132 pages of Supt. Darren Campbell’s handwritten notes in mid-February 2022, but that the file had no references to a meeting with Commissioner Brenda Lucki on April 28, 2020.

Poilievre launches attack ads on Brown, whose campaign calls Poilievre tactics fraudulent

The Conservative leadership campaign took another nasty turn Thursday with two of the frontrunners trading shots over what the other calls unethical behavior. Pierre Poilievre is running television ads in Toronto attacking Patrick Brown over his actions as mayor of Brampton while Brown is accusing Poilievre of running a misleading membership sales campaign.

I think by now Brown must know he has no hope of winning, even his campaign manager has bugged out. Surely he must know his ethnic vote whoring is detestable even by today’s low standards. Still I expect more scorched earth from him.
