Millions of Canadians believe in white replacement theory: poll

There is a plot to replace native-born Canadians with immigrants, more than one-third of respondents have told Abacus Data

New nationwide polling by Abacus Data finds millions of Canadians believe in conspiracy theories, and think there is a plot to replace native-born Canadians with immigrants.

The data found 44 per cent of Canadians believe “big events like wars, recessions and the outcomes of elections, are controlled by small groups of people working in secret against us.” The survey sample represents the equivalent of 13 million Canadians, Abacus said.

Nearly as many, or 41 per cent, agree “much of our lives are being controlled by plots hatched in secret places.”

Maybe its gained traction for good reason.

The comments are fun.

Douglas Todd: Almost 7 in 10 Metro residents will be non-white in two decades

Canada is experiencing the fastest rate of ethnic change of any country in the Western world, say international demographers.

Almost seven of 10 Metro Vancouver residents will be visible minorities, or non-whites, in less than two decades, says Eric Kaufmann, a professor at University of London, Birkbeck, citing Statistics Canada projections.

In addition, Kaufmann said another Statistics Canada report develops projections that he believes suggest Canada as a whole, based on current immigration patterns, will be almost 80 per cent non-white in less than a century.

While the rapid pace of change likely will not hurt Canada’s economy, Kaufmann said, it will continue to have great effect on the ethnic make-up of cities such as Greater Toronto and Metro Vancouver.

They’ve been bragging about it for years. Note the following article dates from 2010

Whites to become the visible minorities of Toronto within 3 decades: StatsCan

OTTAWA – Whites will become a visible minority in Toronto by 2031, according to projections released today by Statistics Canada that suggest the face of Canada will change dramatically in its biggest cities.

About 63 per cent of Toronto’s population would be from non-white groups by 2031, compared to 43 per cent counted in 2006.

That compares to a projected 59 per cent of visible minorities projected for Vancouver by 2031, and 31 per cent projected for Montreal.

Across Canada, the figure is projected at between 29 and 32 per cent of the population, or 14.4 million people.

Conservatives say curbing debate on online streaming bill is ‘draconian,’ ‘disturbing’

The federal government is cutting short debate by MPs on its online streaming bill, a move Tory MPs have condemned as “draconian” and “disturbing.”

They say curbing scrutiny of the bill line by line in committee is an attempt by the government to rush it through the House of Commons and will lead to the creation of a “flawed and incoherent” law.

Prince Charles’ Reported Immigration Remark Triggers Fears for His Kingship

Prince Charles has reportedly privately described a U.K. government immigration policy as “appalling,” rekindling a long-standing debate about his prospects as king.

The Prince of Wales was said to be “more than disappointed” at plans by the British Home Office to deport asylum seekers who enter the U.K. illegally more than 4,000 miles to Rwanda to apply for asylum there, according to London’s The Times.

Ukraine war: Russia earns $97bn on energy exports since invasion

Russia earned nearly $100bn (£82.3bn) from oil and gas exports during the first 100 days of the war in Ukraine, according to a report.

Revenues have been falling since March, as many countries shunned Russian supplies, but remain high, the independent Centre For Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) found.

It also warned of potential loopholes in efforts to curb imports from Russia.

The EU, US and UK are among those to have pledged to cut Russian imports.

Boston tries to clean up the urine in its transit system

One of my rules of thumb is that successful cultures have good public lavatories and can prevent public urination and defecation from becoming a problem. The fact that Boston’s transit authority is trying to figure out, not how to stop people from urinating in the elevators, but just how to track urine so that the transit authority can clean it up speaks both to societal decay and to modern America’s helplessness in the face of this decay.

Bitcoin plunges as major crypto lender halts operations

NEW YORK – Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were collapsing in price Monday, after a major cryptocurrency lender effectively failed and halted all withdrawals from its platform, citing “extreme market conditions.”

It’s the latest high profile collapse of a pillar of the cryptocurrency industry. These meltdowns have erased tens of billions of dollars of investors’ assets and spurred urgent calls to regulate the freewheeling industry.

Bitcoin was trading at roughly US$23,400 Monday afternoon, down more than 16% in the past day. Ethereum, another widely-followed cryptocurrency, was down more than 20%.

Can you say Ponzi scheme?

BBC Accused of ‘Institutional Alarmism’ on Climate Change: Report

The watchdog Net Zero Watch, which scrutinises climate and decarbonisation policies, has accused of world’s largest broadcast news organisation of bias over climate change.

The report outlines criticisms that the BBC has been forced to correct false claims in climate-related coverage after receiving public complaints in recent years.

Furthermore, critics say the BBC’s lack of opposing perspectives means it is now promoting a “green ideological view of the world.”

Severodonetsk will decide Ukraine’s future

Putin has pivoted to a war of attrition

More than 100 days on, the fate of Russia’s campaign to capture the entirety of the Luhansk region still hangs in the balance. If the whole Luhansk region falls, the rest of Ukraine’s east may very likely follow. Both the Russian and Ukrainian forces have committed their forces here for strategic reasons — the territory is critical for a continued Russian advance in the direction of cities such as Dnipro. President Zelenskyy understands this, which is why he made an unannounced visit to Lysychansk at the weekend.

Iran Suspects Israel Killed Two Scientists With Poison

If Iran’s suspicions about the deaths are confirmed, these would be the latest killings in a shadow war that is reaching new intensity as Iran moves closer to nuclear weapons capability.

They both graduated from Iran’s top universities — young, healthy and athletic — before they suddenly fell ill in late May. The two scientists grew sicker and sicker, and ended up in the intensive care units of hospitals in two different cities nearly 400 miles apart.

Then, they both died within days of each other.

Prince Charles should keep his opinions to himself

Is Prince Charles a republican sleeper agent? While the conventional wisdom has it that the Platinum Jubilee festivities showed us that the monarchy is secure for a generation at least, Charles seems determined to prove otherwise. His leaked comments over the weekend, condemning the government’s Rwanda migration policy as ‘appalling’, have reminded us that while Queen Elizabeth has done well to maintain an air of neutrality, Prince Charles simply cannot keep his mouth shut.

Nolte: Subscriber Cancellations Force Biggest Newspaper Chain to Reduce Opinion

Gannett, America’s largest newspaper chain, is cutting back on telling its readers what to think due to what must be an alarming number of subscription cancellations.

“Readers don’t want us to tell them what to think,” said the Gannett editors, according to the far-left Washington Post (an outlet that knows all about telling its readers what to think). “They don’t believe we have the expertise to tell anyone what to think on most issues. They perceive us as having a biased agenda.”

The Democrats’ Politicized Gun Control Script

There’s far more at stake than gun-control laws.

For those of us of a certain age, we know that every time some psychopath shoots up a school and murders students, the Democrats will respond with their clichéd demagogic script. Exploiting the natural horror and pathos of such events, the Donks will trot out all the usual gun-policy suspects, the majority of which would not have prevented most of the attacks.
