115 Russian national guard soldiers sacked for refusing to fight in Ukraine

Old school Soviet morale building.

More than 100 Russian national guardsmen have been fired for refusing to fight in Ukraine, court documents show, in what looks to be the clearest indication yet of dissent among some parts of security forces over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The cases of the 115 national guardsmen, a force also known as Rosgvardia, came to light on Wednesday, after a local Russian court rejected their collective lawsuit that challenged their earlier sacking.

“Journalism”

Scary tings.

We used to walk through our neighborhood to the “Woods” aka the Humber river with our pellet guns with no problems whatsoever.

A very vague early childhood memory concerns an unfortunate accident in which one brother of an area family shot the other in the head with a .22, he died.

Our parents would remind us of this as the situation warranted.

I should ask my brother when next I visit. He is the last living repository of such ancient family lore.

There are also detailed discussions of logistical support for the invasion involving various companies that will provide needed supplies.

Canada investigates after Tesla catches fire, forcing driver to ‘smash the window’

Fake meat was touted as the ‘future of food.’ Why did it fail to deliver?

meat and guns

Late last year, Michael McCain was on a webcast with Maple Leaf Foods Inc. MFI-T shareholders, delivering the previous quarter’s financial results. The news wasn’t great.

The company’s meat-protein business had performed well – revenue had grown by 13 per cent. But growth in the plant-protein division “had evaporated,” he said. Sales were down by 6 per cent, instead of projected growth of 30 per cent.

After several years of proselytizing about “meat” made from plants – doubling down on the business, then doubling down again – Mr. McCain now said Maple Leaf would “reassess” its investment.

It was a remarkable shift.

‘You ain’t getting a dime,’ vows Freedom Convoy organizer named in class action lawsuit

A Sudbury organizer of the Freedom Convoy, which took place earlier this year and shut down parts of downtown Ottawa, has been named in a $300-million class action lawsuit.

Jason LeFaci, who is running for the Ontario Party in the Sudbury riding under the name Jason LaFace, said this week he has little respect for the lawsuit and has no plans to compensate the plaintiffs.

Hate Ottawa with a righteous anger.

Calling social conservatives dinosaurs was ‘wrong terminology’, says Patrick Brown

OTTAWA – Federal Conservative leadership candidate Patrick Brown says calling social conservatives “dinosaurs” in a book he wrote about his time in Ontario politics was “the wrong terminology.”

“I guess a better way to articulate that would be to say: I don’t think the Conservative Party needs to revisit these issues,” Brown said in an interview Friday.

The mayor of Brampton, Ont., has attacked longtime MP Pierre Poilievre — once a colleague in the House of Commons back when Brown was an MP — over his position on abortion.

I hope he wins, it will absolutely kill the CPC.
