Russia uses Orwellian propaganda news vans in Mariupol

Russia has deployed mobile propaganda vans with large-screen televisions to humanitarian aid points in the captured city of Mariupol as the Kremlin has pushed forward with efforts to integrate newly occupied territories across the south of Ukraine.

Videos published by the Russian ministry of emergency situations showed the vans, which it called “mobile information complexes”, playing state TV news segments and political chat shows where pundits support the invasion to locals in the ruined city that still lacks electricity and running water.

Poverty and Violent Crime Don’t Go Hand in Hand

New data on Asian-Americans in New York City undercut a common assumption.

Many analysts, along with the general public, believe that poverty is a major, if not the major, cause of crime. But a new study from a Columbia University research group should remind us of something that history has consistently shown: that the relationship between poverty and crime is far from predictable or consistent. The Columbia study revealed the startling news that nearly one-quarter (23 percent) of New York City’s Asian population was impoverished, a proportion exceeding that of the city’s black population (19 percent). This was surprising, given the widespread perception that Asians are among the nation’s more affluent social groups. But the study contains an even more startling aspect: in New York City, Asians’ relatively high poverty rate is accompanied by exceptionally low crime rates. This undercuts the common belief that poverty and crime go hand in hand.

‘Putin’s terror affects everyone’: anarchists join Ukraine’s war effort

Statue of Nestor Makhno – An anarchist with a statue?

In an unnamed basement bar in central Kyiv, Ukrainian anarchists have created a headquarters where they gather supplies to send to their peers on the frontlines and welcome anarchists from abroad who have come to fight.

It is unusual to see anarchists supporting state structures, but they say taking action against Russia is necessary for their survival. “We are fighting to protect the more or less free society that exists in Ukraine,” said an activist, Dmytro. “Without which there would be no space for activism or underground movements.”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid once again proved how deep her hatred runs for her fellow Americans who share a different political opinion, especially on gun rights. During the opening segment on her show The ReidOut, she lashed out at Republicans and the National Rifle Association (NRA) and made the recklessly irresponsible claim that their “tolerance for slaughter [is] bottomless.”

Pierre Poilievre is right: Fire the gatekeepers, starting with the lifelong politicians

… The worst of the gatekeepers, as we all know, are the lifelong politicians: the men and women who have never stepped foot in the real world except to pose for cheesy photo-ops and maybe to find someone to clean their income properties. They are the ones who joined political parties before they could vote, who have been living off taxpayers since they were barely old enough to rent a car, and who earned a generous public pension at the ripe old age of 31, when many Canadians nowadays can barely afford to move out of their parents’ home.

We do need term limits and that’s only a start.

Border Patrol agents saw taking down Uvalde gunman as ‘suicide’ mission

The elite tactical agents in the Border Patrol credited with taking down the gunman in Tuesday’s mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, thought they were attempting a “suicide” mission in charging a barricaded shooter, a senior Homeland Security official said.

Parents on the scene outside the school amid the chaos criticized law enforcement for taking too long to act. A senior federal law enforcement official familiar with the investigation into the incident told the Washington Examiner on Thursday that the Border Patrol agents had been appointed by the local and state law enforcement on the site to lead that aspect of the response.

Mass Shooting Facts to Shut Down Your Liberal Sister and Her Annoying, Man-Bunned, Non-Binary ‘Boy’ Friend at Your Memorial Day BBQ

” … The same Democrats who scream about “gun violence” are letting legacy criminals out of jail or keeping them out with low/no bail laws. What do criminals do for a living? They commit crimes, frequently with guns. We want guns to defend ourselves. How about we lock up ALL criminals despite their skin color? Send them all to jail. It’s called “equality” and it’s the goal, remember? Political correctness is getting people killed. The Democrats don’t get to start a multi-year crime tsunami and then demand we give up our guns.”
