‘When Will Biden See That His Mistakes Are Harming America’s Interests?’

Many Arabs are continuing to express disappointment and frustration with the administration of US President Joe Biden, particularly its perceived appeasement of Iran’s mullahs, failure to classify the Iran-backed Houthi militia as a terrorist organization and turning its back on America’s erstwhile allies and friends in the Arab world.

These views, expressed in articles published in several media outlets, reflect the widespread concern among Arabs, especially those living in the Gulf states. Some of the Arab writers and political analysts behind these articles are close to the governments and leaders of the Arab countries. It is therefore safe to assume that these views also reflect the official positions of these leaders and governments.

Hydra: How German police dismantled Russian darknet site

“It gave us all goosebumps” says Sebastian Zwiebel, as he describes the moment his team shut down Hydra, the world’s largest darknet marketplace.

The website was a bastion of cyber-crime, surviving for more than six years selling drugs and illegal goods.

But, after a tip-off, German police seized the site’s servers and confiscated €23m (£16.7m) in Bitcoin.

“We’ve been working on this for months and when it finally happened it felt big – really big,” adds Mr Zwiebel.

Lacour provided additional details of the kidnapping a day after the AP reported it.

Memo Reveals State Department Assessed in Early 2020 That Lab Leak Was Most Likely Origin of COVID-19

A newly released memo from the U.S. State Department reveals that government officials knew early on that the COVID pandemic likely originated at a lab in Wuhan, China.

That memo, dated April 2020, states that out of five possible origins for COVID, a lab leak was by far the most likely. The memo also suggests that alternative theories had been introduced to prevent a lab leak from being investigated. The memo, which focuses almost entirely on the likelihood of a lab leak, contains a large amount of information that wasn’t known publicly at the time it was written.

German Intelligence Intercepts Radio Traffic Discussing the Murder of Civilians in Bucha

The Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany’s foreign intelligence service, has acquired gruesome new insights into the atrocities committed by Russian military forces. DER SPIEGEL has learned that the BND has new satellite images and has intercepted incriminating radio traffic from Russian military personnel in the region north of Kyiv, where Bucha is located. Some of the intercepted radio traffic could be linked to dead bodies that have been photographed in Bucha.

… The BND material also apparently provides evidence that members of the Russian mercenary unit called the Wagner Group played a leading role in the atrocities. The group is known to have perpetrated similar atrocities in Syria.

Eyewitnesses recently reported that the occupying force in Bucha was initially made up of “young soldiers.” Once they were replaced by other units, the witnesses said, the attacks on civilians grew more frequent. Some eyewitnesses have said that Chechen units were in the town. The accounts raise the question as to whether this progression was part of the occupation plan.

Wagner Group & Chechen Muslims. That’s some combo.

This met the required threshold of a two-thirds majority of the assembly members that vote yes or no, with abstentions not counting in the calculation.

Good propaganda.

Ontario likely seeing 100K to 120K new COVID-19 cases each day, head of science table says

“Mask up. We are not through this yet. This wave will go high. It doesn’t mean we will see the same amount of hospitalizations necessarily, at least not if we have the same level of infection but remember we are still going up and we are already at the peak we were at last time,” Jüni warned on Wednesday.

UHN infectious diseases specialist Dr. Abdu Sharkawy said masking should be reinstated in the province.

“I think that removing the mask mandate was a mistake to begin with, because really, not only was it a very visible symbol for everybody to recognize and remind themselves that we were still in the throes of a pandemic. But it really was the simplest tool that was widely accessible to everyone really, regardless of their means or privilege to help protect themselves and those around them from transmitting this virus,” he said.
