Convoy organizers had extreme aims, says PM’s national security adviser

Extremism was at play amid the trucker convoy protests and blockades, and there is “no doubt” that some of the organizers who came to Ottawa did so with the intention of overthrowing the government, according to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s top security adviser.

Jody Thomas says in unpacking what went down during the convoy protests, the clearing of them, and the divisions the whole ordeal exposed, Canada needs to take seriously the rise of domestic ideologically-motivated violent extremism.

Two months ago, Thomas took on the key job as Trudeau’s national security and intelligence adviser after a long career in the federal public service.

Harris slammed for laughing after question about Ukrainian refugees

Vice President Kamala Harris has been criticized for breaking into laughter Thursday after she was asked whether the US will take in Ukrainian refugees.

The awkward moment took place during a joint press conference with Poland President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.

The two leaders had been asked similar questions about the US accepting Ukrainian refugees or otherwise easing pressure on Poland’s strained humanitarian resources.

Lunatic Guilbeault Exploits Ukraine’s Suffering To Further Green-Scam Agenda: ‘Canada can help Europe turn to renewables instead of Russian oil’

OTTAWA — Canada cannot realistically help Europe replace its Russian oil imports with Canadian crude or natural gas, but it can and is looking at ways to export renewable energy like hydrogen, Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said Wednesday.

Guilbeault was speaking at the Canadian Club Toronto to promote the federal environmental strategy ahead of the release of Canada’s new road map for greenhouse gas reductions coming at the end of the month.

A conspiracy theorist would suggest that the Ukraine crisis has been co-opted as an opportunity to advance the green-scam agenda. Count me among their number.

One of the ‘world’s deadliest snipers’ who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq arrives in Ukraine from Canada after answering Zelensky’s plea for foreign fighters

One of the world’s most fearsome snipers is set to join the fighting in Ukraine after answering President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call for foreign volunteers to help defeat Russian invaders.

The marksman, known only by his nickname ‘Wali’, hails from the Royal Canadian 22nd Regiment and has previous combat experience from fighting in the Kandahar theatre during the Afghanistan War between 2009 and 2011.

The 40-year-old later took it upon himself to travel to Iraq in 2015 to help fight the Islamic State’s forces.

Justin will probably freeze his bank account.

Pierre Poilievre is the favourite among Conservative voters to lead party in next election, poll finds

A new poll suggests that Conservative voters believe Pierre Poilievre would make the best leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

The Leger poll found that 41 per cent of Conservative voters believe Poilievre would make the best leader. Jean Charest, who is set to launch his Conservative leadership campaign in Calgary on Thursday, is the second choice (10 per cent), followed by Peter MacKay (nine per cent), Patrick Brown (three per cent), and Leslyn Lewis (two per cent). Thirty-three per cent were undecided or preferred not to answer.

I like him but I doubt he will be able to shake the CPC  from its LPC 2.0 wet dream.

Ontario reported 20 net new deaths from COVID-19 on Thursday, as hospitalizations appeared to hit a downward plateau and a new investigation effort found 489 of the province’s total COVID-19 deaths were likely not caused by the viral infection.

The Ministry of Health said 14 of the new deaths occurred in the past 30 days, while six others occurred prior to that period.

KR: We are witnessing the rise of a cancel culture directed against Russia. I don’t understand the mechanism to end it. Each day companies—McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Adidas—are leaving Russia. It is often driven by emotions and an evident lack of presumption of innocence. I fundamentally believe that sooner or later things will settle down. But I also believe that canceling Russia is a huge difference as opposed to previous rounds of sanctions.

“No climate crisis” is, of course, not the spin the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is putting on its new 3,676-page report released last month. “The choices we make in the next decade will determine our future,” the IPCC says. “Any further delay in concerted global action will miss a brief and rapidly closing window to secure a liveable future.”

It could hardly be plainer. The report is political advocacy barely masquerading as science.
